AS activities marking the Games of the 29th Olympiad Games in Beijing, China, were rounded off Sunday, Lagos State governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola (SAN), has commended members of Nigeria’s Dream Team IV for their exceptional performance that won the nation a silver medal.

Governor Fashola also congratulated Blessing Okagbare (women’s long jump), the quartet of Francisca Idoko, Gloria Kemasuode, Halimat Ismaila and Oludamola Osayomi (women’s 4x400m relay) and Chika Chukwumerije (taekwondo) for winning bronze medals for Nigeria.

In a press release signed by his Senior Special Assistant on Media, Mr. Hakeem Bello, Governor Fashola, a passionate sports lover who plays football, expressed joy that the Dream Team IV lived up to its billing at the Beijing Games, noting that such exceptional performance could only have been possible with determination, discipline, hard work and unity of purpose displayed by all members of the team throughout the tournament.
