Is Nigeria Really Moving At All With Yar Adua: We Need Anoda Man For 2011 by dayo1401: 11:49am On Aug 26, 2008
Hello people. i was just wondering if nigeria is moving at all or we have stopped growing since the inception of this administration. We thought obj was the problem, so we were all happy to have him out, but with the way things are now, i guess an obj thrid terms might just have been better than the sleeping dog in aso villa.
Even though,i was anti obj during his days, am begining to accept the fact that baba was a leader, even though with lots of short comings, as he was wicked and ran the country like it was his private business , but even with that, we had GSM to celebrate, anti corruption to talk about, capitlised banking sector, and so on
people, i think yar adua should not be giving a second chance or term as the case may be, almost 2 years nothing can be shown, only policies reversal and stupid speeches about seven point agenda
The craps at the national assemblies arent helping, all they know how to do is to inflate the budget and probe without yeielding result.
We miss the hell out of sen ken nnamani, anyim pious anyim, and lots more to put the presidency on track. David mark is just a bunch of crap,
we should start thinking of another president for 2011, if not nigeria is doomed

@ post,
Am with you man, what is keeping Nigeria moving now is the achievements of the last administration, but he will soon exhaust the good will and face reality.

If I may extend this discussion PDP should not be allowed in the next election, I think we should give any other party a chance. we have already found ourself in this mess and we have to be in it till the next election 2011.

when a person do not have a vision and mission for a particular thing and you bring him from no where and tell him to rule what do you expect but when he really desires it he plans before you get there . Yar Adua as a governor for his state did very well be-cos he had it in mind and mapped out strategies to achieve his plan. for president he never did so its taking him time to do that but once he is set am sure Nigeria will be better again as for PDP i think is time 4 them to back off let us try another party in the next election

Nigeria needs to get away from all these old men that has ruled nigeria for years after years and yet have nothing to show for it.
None of them have upgraded from when i was born, they steal some money, move on and wanna come back and steal more, and yet, none has an answer for the nation.
We need fresh blood and new faces

SaharaReporters, New York

Reports reaching SaharaReporters from Saudi Arabia indicate that Umaru Yar'Adua is in what our sources described as “a serious condition” at the Saudi German Hospital in Jeddah. Mr. Yar’Adua has been in Saudi Arabia since Wednesday to undergo medical treatment for undisclosed ailments.

As a result of Mr. Yar’Adua’s continuing health crisis, his planned state visit to Brazil, previously scheduled to commence tomorrow, has been indefinitely postponed. Our sources also indicated that Yar' Adua's German doctors have not given a date for his departure from Saudi Arabia.

An official at the Presidency in Brazil told SaharaReporters that the protocol department in the office of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva had received “advice from Nigerian authorities stating that the official arrival ceremony for President Umaru Yar'adua earlier scheduled for August 28th 2008 was postponed indefinitely.” The Brazilian official stated that no reasons were advanced for the postponement of Yar'adua's trip.

SaharaReporters had earlier reported that Yar'adua's trip to Saudi Arabia was for medical treatment following a recent deterioration of his health.

Our sources within Aso Rock told SaharaReporters that Yar’adua’s close associates and his wife, Turai, had decided against sending him back to a German hospital. They reportedly feared that his sudden return to Germany might alarm the diplomatic community and create security problems for Yar'adua's presidency. Turai Yar’adua has rebuffed the pleas of some Northern politicians that her husband should resign and pay full attention to his recurrent health crises. She told them that, citing Generals Sani Abacha and Murtala Muhammed, that even if her husband died, he won’t be the first ruler to die in office.

After settling for the Saudi German Hospital in Jeddah, Yar'adua’s handlers issued a deceptive statement that he was going to one of the holy sites of Islam to observe the lesser hajj or umra. He was flown to Saudi Arabia on Wednesday night, a day later than originally scheduled. The trip was delayed in a desperate attempt to minimize the impact of an accurate report by this website that the trip was for Yar’adua’s medical treatment. The PDP even issued a statement claiming that Yar’adua would be in Calabar to campaign for Mr. Liyel Imoke, who is indicted by the House of Representatives’ committee that probed billions of dollars wasted by former President Olusegun Obasanjo in the name of power projects. But a source close to Yar’adua assured SaharaReporters that “President Yar’adua will collapse if he delays his trip by another day.”

Yar'adua traveled with a few family members, including his wife and daughter, as well as his personal doctor, aide-de camp and two German doctors who had earlier flown into Nigeria to manage his deteriorating health condition.

An inside source who was briefed on the trip said Yar'adua was gasping for breath as he labored to board the plane, which was fitted with respiratory aid gadgets provided by the German doctors.

Signs that Yar'adua would not be able to make it to Brazil emerged yesterday when members of his advance party to Brazil were recalled to Abuja from Lagos. The delegation had planned to fly to Brazil via London.

But in a move designed to douse public suspicion, Attorney General of the Federation Michael Aondoakaa was instructed to fly to London. The aim was to divert attention from the cancellation of the Brazilian trip. Aondoakaa told aides and the Nigerian media that he was headed to join Yar'adua in Brazil. He claimed that Yar'adua was flying from Saudi Arabia.

However, SaharaReporters discovered that Aondoakaa did not leave the Heathrow Airport in London. Instead, he checked into the Heathrow Marriott Hotel from where he intends to visit his newly relocated children in London tomorrow.

Our source revealed that Yar'adua's associates were considering secretly flying him to Germany if his current health crisis persists or worsens.

President Yaradua remains the greatest Presidential Mistake of this generation.

I hope he does not waste our time standing re-election.

It is always nice and easy to talk rubbish big talk from far away.
Again, Nigeria is not an easy country to rule. You do not want to know what president Yar'Adua has to confront on a daily basis.

Nigerians will never be gratified unless another thief relocates into the Aso Rock; they tend to cry quickly when things do not go their way.
They prefer a president that will rush into things only to further befuddle the citizens and steal more money.

Believe it or not, Yar'Adua still represents a single honest president Nigerians have ever witnessed in many years (or may be for the first time). I can assure you that he (Yar'Adua) will not have foreign accounts all over the world or use his presidential jet to transfer money all around the world.
The man is focused and with time Nigerians will appreciate his style of leadership.

With the mess OBJ and Ribadu left behind, I think Yar'Adua is doing a great job.

Therefore, simmer down!
Re: Is Nigeria Really Moving At All With Yar Adua: We Need Anoda Man For 2011 by McKren(m): 3:13pm On Aug 27, 2008
the biggest fraud of this political dispensation is anti-objism

You can perpetrate any fraud you like, so long as you claim it is against Obj it becomes politically correct.

Not sure I want to get into Obj/Ribadu debate, but if the mess Ribadu left is to tell thieves to stop looting their state fund . . . then its not rocket science to know that if the youth of this nation have such mindset then Nigeria is doomed.

a plunging stock exchange, inflation, high food prices, high fuel prices etc are legitimate reasons to cry. aren't they protesting in Thailand for similar reasons??

Here we go again with folks embracing pure failure.

No need to change the subject.
Again, Nigerians will never be gratified unless another thief relocates into the Aso Rock; they tend to cry quickly when things do not go their way.
They prefer a president that will rush into things only to further befuddle the citizens and steal more money.

If you clearly understand what Nigeria as a nation is currently up against, you wouldn't be disrespecting Yar'Adua and you would understand why one shouldn't rush into anything without first having a complete understanding of what is on the ground.

Do you remember how your former president rushed and spent over $17b to establish/ develop power supply in Nigeria. My man, FYI, people in Ibadan haven't had electric power supply for the past 2 weeks straight.

Your former president and his cronies distributed power supply contracts out to families and friends without even taking a time out to reseach the capabilities of these entities. I was told that some of these contract holders can't even tell the difference between electrical conductor and hydraulic analogy.
What a waste!

How could you give contract to individual that has no business plan?

And this what some of us continue to ask for; I just don't get it.
When are we going to get it into our thick heads that "it takes time to accurately restore great things back to normal".
Rushing hasn't helped us in the past and will never help us in future.

Just simmer down, let us be thankful that another thief hasn't resided in Aso rock!
With time we shall all appreciate the style of leadership president Yar'Adua is currently exhibiting.

but the system we have in place. if we change the system we would have a better leadership. you can keep on changing people and you don't change the system. the result is failure. our system have to change not the man.

Nigerians being the cowards they are will surely give him another chance by 2011. Of course and as usual, its not going to be by the ballot, but by praying, fasting and waiting for "god" to deliver the country for them. Forgetting that we can all stand up at the same time and say; "enough is enough".

Why do you think Nigeria will move forward when most of us are too greedy to have any wholesome thoughts.

When we get the chance, we want to oppress but when we are not in a position to oppress we will be moaning. As soon as we get the chance to oppress and loot, we think it is God's blessing.

We need a collective repentance and covering ourselves in ashes in a genuine return to living properly
