nothing wrong in CQ accepting to coach Portugal. Its honourable to be recognized by ur home country and moreso to coach them at the mundial. Its way more logical than Ronaldos move to Real.

If he wants to leave, let his federation cough out the compensation for United and we move on.
heard SAF is considering benitez's former number 2. thats crazy
i'll prefer Cantona!! Lol

4 Play:

Did anyone see the 'story' about Wenger joining Utd as Fergie's number 2? Apparently,Wenger was supposed to have said that it has always been his dream to join a successful club and get his hands on a European cup. grin grin
This is funny 4play, don't let our brothers in North London lay ambush against you.
Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Hannibal: 4:50pm On Jul 10, 2008
Ferguson should start signing players, gosh!!!!

The summer has been too quiet at OT.
Ronaldo happens to be the only news we hear everyday of the week.
United need Huntelaar and a full back to challenge.

The 1st 2 leagur fixtures would be tough. . . .
No Ronaldo, Anderson and Nani plus whoever cops an injury before then.
Ferguson should bring out the cheque-book now.
Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by debosky(m): 4:54pm On Jul 10, 2008
I'd prefer a quiet summer to the madness going on at the Emirates. the fact is, Fergie will sign one or at most two players this summer - Berbatov/Huntelaar and maybe a back up for Wes. The squad is VERY strong as it is no need for too many additions else there will be rancour and undue redundancies in camp.

IF CR goes however, one or two buys may be needed to replace him.

So u are admitting there's crisis at the Emirates?? grin cheesy grin Wonders shall never end.
Of course, we need just an out n out striker. . . . .If we had one, Ronaldo wouldn't be in the spotlight now.
Huntelaar is the key!!!! Benzema is over-rated and more like Apache n Wazza. . . .
Berbatov is not an out n out striker . . .He loves to play behind a main striker so he won't help us.
Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by debosky(m): 5:08pm On Jul 10, 2008
I'm not admitting no crisis, the noise level is just decidedly unsettling and disturbing. Berbatov is as main a striker as you need, Huntelaar? Maybe - but Berba is ready from day 1 (like Clinton's mantra) and will score goals. Huntelaar may flop.

Berbatov ma ass. . . . . .
He is slow, can't lead an attack in Europe and he is too petulant for me liking.
Besides, isn't he 27 and injury prone??

Huntelaar is young, can score a basket of goals.
He would continue where Ruud left off. . . . . It's been long a United striker wins the EPL golden boot.
Klass Jan is 24. . . . Roo is 22. . . . Manucho is 24. . . . . Tevez is 24.

@Hannibal
i told u before, ill prefer Berba to Hunter.
Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Hannibal: 5:40pm On Jul 10, 2008
OT faithfuls don't want Berbatov.
We need a striker that can lead an attack in a 4-5-1 formation in Europe.
Berbatov cannot do that cos he is in the mould of Tevez n Wazza. . . .He cannot play upfront on his own.
We need a Torres, Ruud, Santa Cruz, Zamorano, Luiz Ronaldo type of player. grin cheesy
The answer is Huntelaar!!!! cool cool

who are the OT faithfuls? im a faithful myself

Berba is point man and can play anywhere on the field. he is never like Wazza and Tevez
Torres? This is the first time Torres will be scoring more than 20 goals in a season!!!
Even Villa is more prolific. How can u compare Berba to Torres.

Let Berba play in any of the top four and see what hes like. Hes far better than Hunter as a baller. Did u say Santa Cruz?
u must be joking. he was sent packing from the Bundesliga to a mid table team and u think United is the best place for him. never!! let the gaynners get him

Faux!!! Berba is not a point man.
He plays behind Darren Bent or Robbie Keane.

Torres never scored more than 20 goals in a season because he played with amateurs at Athletico Madrid.
How many goals will Ronaldo score with Derby County or Charlton Athletic??

Of course, Berba will only flourish in any of the top 4 teams with an out n out striker.
Are u not worried we have no out n out since Ruud?? I don't want Ronaldo leading United's attack in the UCL next season.
Let everyone play in their preferred position. Huntelaar is one of the best out n out striker out there.
He is good aerially and he is always on point to score from scraps like Van Nistelrooy.

One must wonder how Christian Vieri and Hasselbank were able to score more than 20 playing
with this said amateurs
Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by debosky(m): 8:44pm On Jul 10, 2008
style of play, level of maturity at the time, the quality of Athletico when each player was there. . .there are numerous possibilities my friend.

Berbatov is class, and qualifies as an 'out and out' striker whatever that means. He can do the business for MU. Robbie Keane is not an 'out and out' per se either but can be deployed as such. else why would Rafa want to buy him?

Apart from being moody, Berba can score every type of goal, and is a genius - he is the best striker outside the top 4 in England.
Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by doyin13(m): 8:58pm On Jul 10, 2008
hehehe, . . . . . .Hasselbank scored 24 on a relegated team. Go Figure.

Not that I care about United sha, but me thinks Obafemi Martins is the perfect fit.

im telling you, this is what we need right here,

Roque will fit perfectly into our team. Right foot, left foot, headers, he is class and very under-rated, just that he was very unlucky with injuries at Bayern. He wouldn't cost that much to purchase and he is already used to the EPL, I think he could guarantee at least 20 per season.

I like Huntelaar but Im not sure whether he will be able to cope with the physical challenge of the premiership. Huntelaar will be a gamble.
What do u guyz think?

I think Huntelaar will not be fazed by the physical challenge. He looks a pretty strong boy

Yes, but he lacks pace, which is very vital to survive in the premiership

The way we play especially on the counter-attack, pace is necessary especially in those big games against the other top 3.

I dont mind him but i dont think he would be a guaranteed goal scorer like he is in Holland. He is just too much of a GAMBLE in my opinion.
Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by doyin13(m): 10:48pm On Jul 10, 2008
Van Nisteelrooy wasn't pacy either, but look how he turned out.

So what is your bizniz here? undecided  Abeg,Obafemi belongs to Wenger o. But Pompey can have him grin

Methinks Hunter's a good gamble.Every player that comes to United gets better with constant involvement.Compare Ronaldo now to when he first came to OT. Hunter will definitely bloom into a top United star. Hez got great potential.

You are missing the fundamental point here.
Huntelaar will be happy to warm the bench and come in as a sub if Rooney and Tevez are having an awful day.
Berbatov won't be happy with that at all cos he already considers himself a prima donna.

Huntelaar has led Ajax numerous times in the last season. . . . . He is mobile, aerially powerful, amazing goal sense and good balance.
He is Fergie's best bet to complete the quartet of Manucho, Rooney and Tevez.
Berbatov can go to Arsenal. . . . . I aint convinced Berba can score 20 league goals for United.

I never mentioned Berba, to me personally he's not for Utd, with his attitude problem and all that, and i've never really rated him that high anywayz.

I said maybe Huntelaar but then said Santa Cruz will be a great asset for us. The guy is very under-rated but has class, What do u think?

And also what do u think of Pavlyuchenko?? I liked what I saw at the Euros

Fergie's said to be buying just one player. And the odds are tipped very favorably toward Huntelaar.

@Debosky

Huntelaar is arguably the best player any gaffer could ever hope for this period cool

dude is strong, visionary, dynamic and CAN SCORE GOALS WITH EASE !

Berbatov on the other hand looks slow, visionary too, not so strong, less dynamic . . .VERY INTELLIGENT ! with his attitide problem, I wont want him anywhere near my team tongue

but give it to Huntelaar, the dude is discreetly working his way up to the top without courting for hiself undue scandal cool

Huntelaar will go far ! cool

@Doyin

which Obafemi ? u mean that orebe kumo that is not disciplined ? grin grin

I dont want him anywhere near Emirates cos he doesnt seem to have the discipline required of a TOP 4 EPL player tongue cheesy

or do u think Wenger or Fergie would be allowing him to make mid-week dashes to come and see Alhaja whereas he is meant to play matches a day after or even the weekend after angry
