I've heard that oil has been found in Benin Republic.

Africa is where life started in the entire world. Crude oil was formed from fossilled plants and animals so I believe most parts of Africa will have crude oil if well explored for. The areas near major water are just the first to be dedicatedly explored because they are most certain to yield results. That's why nobody wants to leave the Chad Basin alone it is geographically not possible for there not to be oil in the Chad Basin because all of that area was forested millions of years ago. Nile Delta same, Niger Delta the same.

The Middle East and South America are the second and third places to be inhabited, Eastern Europe was the fourth. If all these places could have massive deposits of crude oil, why not the whole of Africa?

If Ogun says there's crude oil there, It's most likely.

As long as you don't get monthly free money from oil mined from other people's land. This is exactly what one Nigeria is all about, as long as it happening elsewhere. The day A REAL CRUDE OIL is found in the South West and Northern Nigeria, that all these talk of One Nigeria till death do us apart will disappear overnight.

Good questions , Nobody will die if Water replaces CRUDE OIL infact the world will be better off if we can tap into
the unlimited availability of water without poisinous emission of CO2 all over the world

Igbo doesn't have oil except Imo. Yoruba has in Ondo and Lagos, not sure of Ogun. Hausa didn't have at all, except non-commercial quantity in Sokoto. So the oil riches of Nigeria lie in Niger Delta which consist of different ethnic groups known as minority group and some parts are closed to Yoruba and Igbo especially the Benin and Delta. So all this blabs are just misunderstanding of Republic State.
