If i'm completely not "feeling" the ring, i'll find a way to tell  him so quite diplomatically so it's not like i'm insulting him or anything, just asking him to understand from my point of view, just like if someone gets you a hideous jacket, e no go upset you to dey rock am? LOL, But for the guys, they should take the time to know what would appeal to her, because even though we all would like to say "it's the thought that counts", if the thing completely freaks her out, hmmm, and if that's what he can afford, then shw should understand and respect that, if na by force, they can work out an arrangement where he upgrades the ring in future, I've heard of those kinds of situations o, like when the ring is diamondless, and the diamond is added later,
