Linda and Henry sat there on the floor, holding hands, staring at nothing for close to twenty minutes. Linda broke the silence.
'let's go home Henry'
He gazed at her and smiled sadly. Linda understands him more than anyone-well, at times, she makes him want to trottle her.
'Yeah, we should Linda'
'you havn't eaten Henry. Let me get you something downstairs'
'no'
she stood up and walked down to the kitchen. The family were all sitted in the palour. She didn't see Daisy and she didn't ask.
The cook gave her a plate of chips and eggs. She took it up to her husband. He was on the floor. She joined him and together ate the food with a single fork.
They stood up and Henry looked at the room strangely
'you know Linda, this used to be my room whenever i visited'
'wow, what about jake?'
'right next to mine and mother's room is the one before mine although she hardly spend a night here. Jake and i visit during the holidays with Obed, we play pranks on the adults especially the maids'
Linda giggled.
'oh, my husband has always been naughty'
Henry laughed, she made him laugh.
'Obed and i had fought real dirty but that stopped when we received serious punishments from grandfather. Whenever we want to fight, we locked up our rooms and do it in secret. We stopped when we grew older'
Linda laughed. She now realised why her husband fights dirty. Growing up with Jerry and Obed made him so.
'Jake?'
she asked
'always watched us. Very gentle and quite like mother. We bribed him not to tell on us ofcourse'
Linda thought for a while
'by the way Henry, i'm inviting jake to spend the christmas break with us'
'he won't come'
'he will, i'm his sister-in-law. You will see'
Henry prayed so. Jake keeps pretty much to himself and it's high time he comes back home.
They walked downstairs with smiles.
'where is Daisy?'
Linda asked them
'in the nursery'
Anita answered. Henry went up to pick her.
'Linda, what happend?'

'he told me everything'
'all we wanted is for them to listen to us. We made some mistakes and we are sorry'
Jerry interjected.
'your mistake cost a life'
Linda told him
'it didn't just cost a life Linda, it cost two or maybe i should say three'

'how?'
But she didn't get her answer. Henry appeared with a sleeping Daisy in his arms. He walked out.
'i'm sorry, we've got to go. Give Henry some more time, he will come around'
She said and walked out.

'we are home'
Henry told her. He picked Daisy up into the house. She had slept through the drive back home.
In their room, Linda had a quick bath. As soon as she finished, Henry went in for his own bath.
'We should pay a visit to Tara. I've really offended her'
Linda told her husband much more later.
'okay, give her a call'
'i don't have a phone'
This was a reminder of what had happened.
'I'm really sorry Linda, make use of my phone. I will get you another phone when we go out'
'it's my phone i want not another. Please get mine back'
'okay, that is settled then'
They dressed up and went to the Nicholas. Tara was glad to see them.
'I was so worried Linda'
she told her.
'i'm okay Tara. Henry and i had a talked about what happened. He promised me it won't repeat itself again'
'it had better not. Do you know that it was all over the news?'
'another scandal to my name!'
Linda exclaimed. Jordan returned home and Tara quickly went to him.
'welcome Jordan'
Linda told him. She didn't wait for his reply and quickly fixed her eyes on the TV. Tara observed everything.
'Jordan, you didn't apologize to her did you?'
'no Tara i forgot'
'you promised me'
'yeah and we went to her house the other day and she was ill i couldn't tell and then, it escaped my memory'
'how could you Jordan? She is my only friend and it's your fault she had been avoiding me'
'Tara its okay, i'm not complaining'

she yelled. Henry nearly burst into the laughter. Jordan felt ashamed for all he had told Linda. She actually didn't deserve it and Tara was right. He went to Linda.
'Linda, i've wrong you and i don't need to Tara to tell me this. I had transfered my anger on you. I feel guilty and ashamed that you are no longer comfortable in my presence.
I'm sorry please forgive me'
Linda saw that Jordan really regreted his actions. She smiled and walked into his arms for a hug. Henry drew her away
'Linda, i'm here'
'oh please don't tell me you're jealous big brother'
Tara said and drew Linda upstairs.
'if you guys will excuse us, we ladies have alot catching up to do'
Tara said.
'just don't gossip your husbands'
Henry told them with a laugh. Jordan turned to him.
'you've got to get rid of Sandra and Ruth. How dare them?'
'i will take care of them

She wondered if the two are having intimacy at all, maybe that will explain why he still sleeps around. She had to know.
