pas 7/10 viewers, my earlier observation concerning that signal loss at my station was caused by the port on the disecq switch where pas 7 is connected,it is presently faulty so what i did was just to change the pas 7 coaxial cable to another port. badaru thanks for the above suggestion u profered when u were around. my pas 7 signal has been up and running for the past 24 hours. thanks again.

Etoo,
I think I got your point. The only problem I have with Enitan is the fact that he is highly controversial.I wish i could be quiet like mide2008,badaru and Adewest.sincerely, some of these quiet people would slaughter him if he should visit them.In fact,we discuss the campaign of calumny on echolink everyday. The bitterness is better imagined. They were just trying to avoid any confrontation with him.But come to think of it,I think both Enitan and I have kept this thread alive with the altercations and fish catching. He is one member that has impacted so much in my satellite life.He is to be kept at arms length over fish stuff.

badaru1,
I am sorry for the misunderstanding.Enitan got so many things wrong on the clone issue.the statement you copied from echolink has been discussed amongst Adewest,mide2008,and me.We all know about the technicalities of echolink but what got us annoyed was the insinuation that you can only be sure of getting a good one online, and the so many bad publicities Enitan gave it.Adewest has been using it and other systems like gamma card, irdeto card that opens DSTV on pas 10,for some years. So why wouldnt he be angry that somebody who has never used it is now making it look like it is risky.I have already posted how to avoid clones so what else do we need to say about it.sincerely,i am fed up on clones or no clones.if the echolink decides to stop  the system next month,I will never regret buying it.Life itself is a risk. And please tell him to stop getting you enemies on this thread with all the Master,Baba,Demi-god statements or badaru said this, badaru said that,or na badaru I go follow blindly.I hope he never dey do your laundries and cooking?please keep your daughters in the bedroom when he visits,i no trust am especially with the Psat channel he dey watch for your house.
I hope you no hurt yourself at folo's.Congratulations for the survival.I was on top of the building that sunday we were expecting you so i understand the danger you survived.

Enitan/baba eleye,
I 'll be back in Lagos at 3pm,take the news at 8 and 10pm Tuesday.please don't reply me on echolink.I have had enough.please direct all your queries to mide2008 and Adewest.I like your statement on me and the fence-sitting members. It seems a lot of members are afraid of confrontations ever since your verbal assault on me.didnt you notice Biggjoe's comment.I hope you don't scare people off.One member confessed to me that the incident made him to vow never to contribute, but you have to convince them that you are harmless.I am sure to kill you no go take 15 seconds for people like oga soldier but you get mouth and fishes jt no be small.

obnelly,
please put the Digisat on your Nilesat quickly and call me as soon as you are through with it.We need the result for the A beokuta installation.

all,
I wish we could all come together for Xmas.If you can get bigger dishes, the better for our discoveries especially Nilesat/Hotbird in the South generally.I believe 2009 will usher in more discoveries especially the Abeokuta experiment in a few days. The pole will be mounted on wednesday,to be commissioned by President Baba go slow Yar'Adua and Gov.Fashola.You are all invited. No menu ooo.
Where are you,Kemi Abuja, the only female member?

Let me agree with enitan on the issue of FTA. I believe showtime is not FTA. By FTA definition, one gets the channel as soon as one gets the right signal. It does not require any form of specialised receivers or patches. The factory settings of most of these specialised receivers 'cannot' open those scrambled channels unless you add a third party patch. The question is, if it is meant to be free, why does the company have to invest so much into scrambling those channels? Free means, free.

Let me also disagree with enitan about controversies on the forum. I believe if an issue that needed to be debated is raised, members that have knowledge on it should do as much as possible to share their opinion on it. I also believe that it is the way we do the criticism that generate these kind of heated arguments.

We have to be civil in the way we criticise or let use the word disagree with our fellow members. I have learnt my lessons from Adewest. One should have a way of saying to a fellow member 'you have a big nose' in a manner that may even attract a gift. And if we have it in our back of our minds that we are talking to the world, we can guide our utterances and keep our conversation sane.

What really happened? It really got me confused cause I moved through several pages and couldn't find it.

I miss you too my brother.

@all most especially enitan, tox, etoo (samuel?) et all
I hope we will all allow those heated arguments to rest.  We can not go on like this without getting at each others jugular.  Its like sitting on a keg of cordite and lighting a match. - I hope you can imagine. Merry Xmas & Happy New Year in advance.
Re: Official Thread of Free To Air Satellite TV (Part 2) by adrusa: 9:16am On Dec 23, 2008
Well, free to air or FTA is "free to air"! You are not paying to watch it and you should not need to hack (steal) it to watch it. Once it sees a dvb compliant receiver you can watch it.
If it is scrambled and requires any effort on your part to watch it, it is not FTA. No need to invent a new definition of FTA here.

@Toxnaija

Please don't take this issue personal,I only air my opinion base on what I read about the echolink online. What I said was"becareful when buying there are a lot of clone in the market". Right now some one brought one to my house for upgrade but we can't becouse it couldnot take the software and rigth now art is not working. So I didnt advice any one to buy here or there. Wether some one has been using gama card on dstv or not is not connected to the topic. I have been watchin dstv pas 7/10 for long am not new as far as satellite is concern. If you observe me very well I dont devote my time so much for fta,Am more interested on advance form of satellite. Who broke the arrival of echolink to the forum? Am not an expert as installation is concerned I just involve my self as a hobby. We are all here to acquire and pass knowledge let it stop at that

Obnelly

get in touch,I ve gotten the software

No other forum in niraland is as cool as this , think you guys need to be honour with a CFR national award too ( could it be FTA ?).

I really dont know wetin day sweet for the belle of all those awardeess and awaders. (u get what i mean?).

I can imagine the reading and research everyone have to do before coming here to let it out for others. We appreciate u all.

Enitan And the Fisherman( u know ur self), if you no find me real OBOKUN fish before the year runs out i will , ??ok ok i beg embarassed embarassed . If you chop alone you go die alone ooo Enitan.

For now i have nothing to contribute in the FTA world , am stuck with my 2 90cm dish (w3a, 7/10).

Keep up the good work. And ADEWEST is too cool abi u be gay?( na joke oo). You for don track down Enitan by now , and maybe chop off his little finger. Its all cool, the guy means no harm , , but he get big mouth. Na my friend oo ,

Love you all

Badaru,
I think this statement of yours has finally laid to rest the issue of echolink-Please don't take this issue personal,I only air my opinion base on what I read about the echolink online. What I said was"becareful when buying there are a lot of clone in the market".
If Enitan had not added his spice, sincerely we would have been hailing him.He was sounding like you wrote-off the receivers in the market completely because you had problems with it.He mentioned you suggesting buying online only.If you remember,Adewest and I had always given hints on how to identify defective or cloned brands.so where did we go wrong or personal?please go through all he wrote on this and you would see why I sounded up-beat.I think people like you,mide2008 and Adewest should get back here fully to avoid your comments being given some colourations i.e.addition and subtractions. If you had written the warning yourself, this would not have come up.please pass your views across to everybody and not a few on the phone. It seems I am not on your frequency at all-no phone calls,no sms,no how u dey! I hope say you no dislike me for being too blunt.
I have had enough of this rancour, let us all move on to other projects. All i am waiting for is the Nilesat/hotbird experiment on 2.4m pan in a few days.
I like the humility in you-Am not an expert as installation is concerned I just involve my self as a hobby. We are all here to acquire and pass knowledge let it stop at that.On the breaking of echolink to the forum,I knew of it thru mide2008 and Adewest a few days before you mentioned it here but my grouse with these guys including you is that the three of you are too quiet for us guys looking up to you.You acquire valuable information but never talk about it immediately due to ur cool nature.I discovered so many things I had been trying to learn in 3 years in just 3 days with Adewest! I am sure there are much more to you than you write.Maybe I should come for internship at Xmas!

Enitan,
I am on my way to Lagos.I'll wait for you in the studio by 5pm.I am sure you would think it is an ambush for Udon't worry,na fishes go discipline Usee as u don turn me into fisherman.na God go judge u.I think justx24 should get a 2.4m for the almost 100 porn channels on Hotbird instead of wasting money on Psat cards.

obnelly,
how far with digisat on your Nilesat in Sagamu?

It is not that am quite on what I know,it is the rule of the house that we should becareful on the kind of info we pass to the forum. Although I have some reservations concerning that. Of the hundreds of forum I visited, I have never seen any that restrict someone from passing info except some bar you from pasting keys which is normal. ask pple that have met me face to face,I dont hide info. Infact if I assist to instal,I do it in such a way that you can do it yourself next time.

Hello house,

Sorry for the looooong absence. how una dey? I dey gbadun una no be small. I always do catching up whenever I come online but have not been posting since there is nothing in the 90cm league. So where do I start now? ok

@tox9ja

Gr8 u have Izap. The Izap s only better than MTN f@stlink in term of aquisition cost and unlimited data allowance. For pple who would want to make a choice, you can have this as a decision guide

1. Mtn initial cost is 35,500, Izap is 11,000 i think
2. Mtn data could be as high as 2.5mbps while Izap struggles with 512kbps
3. You can transfer up to 3gb data (up and download) with your monthly subscription while Izap is unlimited
4. MTN subscription is 10,000 for 3gb or 1 month (whichever comes first) while Izap is 15,000 no data restriction
5. MTN has a daily offer of 500 naira for 5mb and some other packages too i cant readily remember while Izap has 15,000 for monthly, 7,000 for 9am to 9pm and 5,000 for 9pm to 9am
6.mtn switches btw edge and gprs where the former is broadband and the later is just gprs at 53kbps while izap swtiches btw evdo and 1x. these switch b both net work depend on specific service coverage area.
7. in term of beter service coverage, i would give it to starcomms. i would also give to them better customer care. be sure to find out if the better service of every network is withing your principal usage area to avoid been frustrated.
8. what applies to mtn applies to glo except that glo cost 19,000 for aquisition and has better customer service than mtn.

@all

Now to second topic. Having patiently gone through the posts all this months and nearly died of jealousy of those nilesat pple in da house and having realized I dont have space for bigger dish, I finally decided to join the semi nilesat league at least for the movies, I went to discom and aquired their DVB-c receiver and honestly I am not regretting it. My advise to fellow nairalanders in the 90cm leaue is to go get it if u are within discom coverage are. U wont regret. these are some of the channels I have -
BBC
CNN
ALJHAZERA
PRESS TV
SKY NEWS
CNBC AFRICA
MBC2
MBC4
MBC MAX
MBC ACTION
MBC PERSIA
FOX MOVIE
DISCOVERY
CARTOON NETWORK
SPACETOON
B4U
CCTV
MUSIC PLUS
TRACE TV
YOTOMI
BLAST TV
OYORIMA
CINETREND
ARIYA
DOVE
LOVEWORLD
ETC. There are 47 in all anyway

@all

I once posted on this thread the problem free2view had with S.A authority and i remembered expressing my fear that msnbc might not last on that bird considering that issue. I hope the inability to view msnbc is not a fall out of the free2view-S.A Authority problem. Unfotunately nigeria could not do something right. imagine our Nigcomsat falling out of orbit due to power failure. Theºannoying part is that Nigcomsat boss had the effontary to yarn crap in one of the dailies saying sat failure is not a new thing and not peculier with 9ja. I hope he realised how much 9ja sunk in there and will need to still sink in some more to ensure the failed sat do no destroy other sats in orbit. na wa ooo.
