Olofofo, na wa ooo.I have called you up to 7 times today but you didnt pick my calls.I hope you got all the 4 smss I sent to you both yesternight and this morning.please call me or reply asap.I had to delay sending money to Adewest till tomorrow morning because of UI will be on air LTV at 8/10pm tonight and tomorrow. |

@all, Na beg I dey O! We need to teach ourselves how to 'catch fish' so that we can do it by ourselves without anybody's assistance and I believe that is what drove most of us to this forum in the first place. If we were so comfortable with using commercial installers, then most us wouldn't bother ourselves wasting precious hours on google just to find this site. So, please let's go back to what made us popular in this forum. Let us begin once again to SPREAD THE INFORMATION RATHER THAN SELLING IT! I don't mean to offend anyone, but I think we are gradually losing our focus on this thread. {edited post} |

obnelly:W3a is getting more and more boring these days. MSNBC has refused to come up after many days and most of all these other channels are just showing crap. Na wao! Looks like I may have to move away from that bird too. |

@ George, thats a wonderful observation from your part. i prefer to be taught how to fish rather than being given tilapia. badaru ten thumbs up for you, you've made me what i am now and what i'll be later on in terms of sat installation. george, try to make your point without making reference quote of some individuals. AS for me i dont get carried away with some things. |

enitan2002:@enitan, Thanks for the correction. I have just edited that last post to remove the reference. I did not mean any offence, just trying to air my observations with the present direction of this thread. |

@ george, u just repeated what i made reference to. dont make it everytime u quote som1's post. it is somehow repelling. i think someone pointed that out to you sometimes back. |

My salute to all in this forum: Biggjoe, enitan(s), F_Marshall and all to numerous to name This Xmas, I would like to put up a tree in my heart, and instead of hanging presents, I would like to put the names of all my friends. Close friends and not so close friends. The old friends, the new friends. Those that I see every day and the ones that I rarely see. The ones that I always remember and the ones that I sometimes forget. The ones that are always there and the ones that seldom are. The friends of difficult times and the ones of happy times. Friends who, without meaning to, I have hurt, or without meaning to have hurt me. Those that I know well and those I only know by name. Those that owe me little and those that I owe so much. My humble friends and my important friends. The names of all those that have passed through my life no matter how fleetingly. A tree with very deep roots and very long and strong branches so that their names may never be plucked from my heart. So that new names from all over may join the existing ones. A tree with a very pleasant shade so that our friendship may take a moment of rest from the battles of life. "May the happy moments of Xmas brighten every day of the new year". These are my sincere wishes. Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year In Advance! |

@toxnaija & GeorgeD Yeah, I also requested for echolink decoder, but the guy sending it over, said they are both the same and have the same software. I have my reservations too, but on second thought, I reasoned that, FTA is all about experimenting, and it is only part of our research to also try the starsat receivers. Besides, we cannot all sleep and face the same place. So since it is my funeral, I want to give that one too a trial. The guy sending it even told me that he is watching showsport right away with it. So I guess it is also good and what is more, there is website for its own software upgrade too. When it arrives, I will give you update about how it works. The guy sending it, is sending two, for now but with lots of abracadabra cards. I think someone also mention this starsat decoders too in this forum in the past, anyway, I will keep you posted. I guess I am alone in this experiment, but if it works, I guess it wont be long before I see someone signifying to buy the second receiver. see the receiver here http://www.moresat.net/starsatseries/srx7100cu/index.html |

enitan2002:@enitan, Sorry if I offend you by my 'quotes'. Yes, someone said something about quoting people's posts a few days back. I think it was maddoxoj. But he only complained about quoting long posts of people only to add a few comments at the end. He suggested that such long quotes be edited to remove the irrelevant items and if you notice I have been doing just that. strangely, you're the first person kicking against quoting other people on this thread. I have gone through the posting rules (above icon) and I don't seem to notice anywhere it said not to quote others. And come to think of it, one of the rules says that we are to be specific and straight to the point, i.e, don't post off topic. Quoting the person's post you want to comment about helps other members know where you're coming from, and helps us to be more direct else they wouldn't make that 'insert quote' link active. If you take offense at the quotes maybe we can all take a vote and if it is carried by the house, we stop 'quoting' in our posts. |

@ George D Enitan is not saying you should not quote. He is simply trying to tell you that you do not need to quote all the time especially when your views are exactly the same with the quote you are posting. This will help in keeping the thread not too long and easy to read for folks who use their phones to browse. |
Re: Official Thread of Free To Air Satellite TV (Part 2) by Nobody: 1:52pm On Dec 19, 2008 |
@ bodejohn, you just spoke my intentions on that issue, am not against making use of quotes but always is always displeasing, just a little '@' intended poster goes a long way. |

All Its high time we shifted to NEWCAMD,CCCAM ,dvd, gbox etc.Any body with useful information on this?We have got enough lessons on different satellites, tracking, fine tuning and the working ability of various decoders. Can we now shift our attentions to NEWCAMD TECHNOLOGIES.I hope we can benefit if we can work on it,its the advance stage in satellite tv .All we need is internet facilities,if this is available we can go any lenght. |
Re: Official Thread of Free To Air Satellite TV (Part 2) by obnelly: 5:54pm On Dec 19, 2008 |
olofofo why dont you contact badaru on the com issue,my linksat had the same problem but when i visited badaru he tried to work on it using his strong receiver and later connected my linksat .Bang ! the software transfed perfectly.I have newcamd for the receiver now but i still need to update to lattest linksat software. But i am still hunting for that software.if you have one just send me mail. Thanks that cable is working fine. |

badaru is da master, for those that are very close and loyal to him he reveals so much to them. he's told me about d echolink u guys are using is , so i can now see for myself,go and seek him for solutions to that problem. @ ola, i just have to admit and let you know that your fear about that decoder is the truth,i no wan tell u 4 phone. thats simply d truth. |

Obnelly, what do the linksat and NEWCAMD TECHNOLOGIES do?I also want to confirm if you picked Showsports in Shagamu in September.I read your post of Septmber 27,2008 but I was not sure of the statement.please give me a call tonight.I want to co-opt you into the 2.4m dish discoveries as Abeokuta is just a bit higher in latitude than Shagamu.Adewest suggested hearing from you too. Enitan, I will be in the studio tonight.I will get as many fishes for UI hope you no go quench with the fakafiki.Engineer Ashawo.I am now on internet 24/7 through Starcomms i-Zap.While driving through Acme road,Ogba this evening I saw a truck carrying 3m fibre. You came into my mind immediately thinking you ordered for it. What is wrong with Echolink? Some friends have been using it for almost one year in Kaduna without any problem.I think Olofofo's challenge is peculiar as others confirmed the ease of transfering the software.don't sound like an alarmist ooo.Tell everyone now what you discussed with Badaru.please don't turn the forum into factions.I am beginning to feel bad about this. You don't seem to see other views except Badaru's.You seem to have something against Nilesat topics.I have told you to demolish that school beside your house to get space for it.As good and respectable as Adewest and Badaru are,I still call them to clarify or disagree with a few of their postulations.I must confess, some members don't like when we turn some of us into demi-gods of fta.please don't get me wrong, think about it please.Members, pls comment. Twinstaiye, I like your spirit.I have checked the receiver.it truly has similar softwares to Echolink, all powered by Ali-C.please call me as i don miss u.I am waiting for the installation report. George-D, I am really falling in love with your frequent contributions.Adewest suggested that I sell the Comstar mesh dish to you as it is of the same quality with Orbitron which is out of the market. Gofitech, Thanks for catching me on TV yesternight.I am on again tonight.regards. |

Adewest, I couldnt get you on phone.I have sent the money to your account.I hope to get the pole mounted in Abeokuta tomorrow.what can you say about Starsat and Echolink?Twinstaiye needs to clarify before buying it.Is anything wrong with Echolink as I dont understand Enitan/Badaru's coded discussion on it. |
Re: Official Thread of Free To Air Satellite TV (Part 2) by olofofo(m): 10:25pm On Dec 19, 2008 |
@enitan i beg too differ on your comment about badaru knowing there was something wrong with the echolink decoder. I told him that iw as having problems updating my own and he told that probable i was not doing it right , that i needed to click connect while switching on the STB, only for him to call me later regarding how he has not been able to update it as well.''am still doing some research on why it is misbehaving, it is definitely not the cable, i have tested all kind of cable, even soldered same by myself 5-5. 2-3. 3-2. so badaru telling you there's something wrong with the echolink is definitely after he tried too upgrade as well. @toxnaija you go say This olofofo guy no serious. no mind me, na this weekend na him i go free from the work wey i carry give myself. i will definitely credit adewest's account latest Tuesday . na when him go come remain, i caught you on air last night as well, YEYE guy, i wan sabi you die! my question is what are oyu still doing with LTV? you oought to move on, i think you are that good. ( now stop Blushing!) no mind anything. him get serious fear of Nilesat. since i did my installation of nilesat. my 1.8 motorized has lost out. it just can not compare. he has space for 2.4 but he'll rather go for 1.8, strange fellow. him and badaru tight die, no come asunder oooooo. @obnelly the echolink decoder comes with a card sharing facilty like that of the humax receiver, it use a format know as GBOX SSSP. you can convert the serial port to a network port via software like WSP, SHAREMAX and several other that i have not been able to lay my hands on. i have tested the WSP and it works. the only snag is that i have not been able to get a free card sharing server to test it with. will keep working on it until i make a news worthy breakthrough. |

@ olofofo/tox, yes i have somtin against u guys alone concerning nile, ola and obnelly including those up north are excluded make i include olofofo jare to the exclusion list jo,so u tox is d only fellow i get grudge against even adewest sef i no just wan open mouth 4 am cos i dey fear guardroom but i know u have nothing to show ur muscles and u wont want to spoil ur fineboy. concerning the echolink decoder,i dont have anytin against it just that most of the units here in 9ja are cloned ones just like strong decoders. it will be better if it is purchased online from reputable stores thats what badaru does most times he doesnt mind the cost. |
Re: Official Thread of Free To Air Satellite TV (Part 2) by Nobody: 12:04am On Dec 20, 2008 |
bear wit me for that repitition. whenever we meet people on public forum like this,we can develop a more cordial relationship that is even out of the reason one joined the forum. and that happened not only between badaru and i, ola, tox, olofofo all inclusive just that d badaru's type is like father/son type, so he reveals much to me when we are together, no matter how open a forum is, there'll still be some things to be discussed only with trusted individuals. ola get across to oga he'll explain further concerning that your fear on the echo we discussed for evening. get across to me via mtn 9te call on 08067055323. |
Re: Official Thread of Free To Air Satellite TV (Part 2) by Nobody: 12:17am On Dec 20, 2008 |
am not discouraging those intending to go for echolink decoder,u can but for those who can afford to buy it online then u will be rest assured u are standing on the ground with your 2 feets. echo is not the first of this kind, some that existed some years back are no longer functioning, ask why? the manufacturer of the echo have an agreement with those packages in question so if anytin goes wrong during the period u all echo users will be yanked off from viewing those stations again and another manufacturer signs another deal again and a new decoder that can work same thing comes into the market again. thats how the table keeps turning. so if 20k opens all showtime for a year or +, dat one no go do una? i no talk say na 1year echo go work ooo,e no fit even reach dat period sef. |
