Tucees: On the contrary its quiet useful in keeping the eco system balanced! If bats were to go extinct humans may have a problem of too many insects and co to contend with. No animal is useless (except bedbugs IMO)every one of them snakes included have one thing or the other that makes our very existence comfortable and bearable.

Actually....I see the reporting about Ebola as a means of drawing attention to our poor public health system.

On the contrary I think proper information and sensitization on Ebola is what we need right now. You can't solve your problem when you lack adequate information about the problem. Frequent news and threads on the virus will make people to be cautious and not to down play the severity of the situation. Proper information will also reduce the spread of the virus. Ebola kills, Ignorance kills faster.
