It matters, at least in Alberta. But I wouldn't worry much about Manitoba as they have few universities/colleges so the competition among graduates for jobs would be mild.
Then Manitoba is one of the easiest province to become a PR.

Good day bro, sorry for just replying. First I will advice you to check the school website and get the contact of the graduate advisor in charge of the department you want, send the advisor an email stating your qualification, experience and the semester you want to come in. Though the school states minimum of 2:1 but there are always exceptions. From the response of the advisor you'll know whether you'll get admitted for masters, if not you'll have to apply for pgd fitst, then afterwards proceed to masters.
