A concerned but senseless father has given a 9month old baby overdose of a cough syrup containing codeine.

He said he was given the drug in the hospital after his serious cough episode and it worked for him.

According to him, he was told to use 10mls 3times daily but used to just gulp it and he decided to give his baby that has been seriously coughing the remaining content without measurement.

We were told the baby started to convulse after some minutes of Ingesting the syrup, then was immediately rushed to the hospital and taken to the intensive care unit.

Doctors have said only God can save the baby and the father deserves to be jailed for negligence. The head doctor further said,a sensible parent should know drugs that aren’t prescribed for a baby should never be given to them!
