@Walspring i want you to advice him based on the GRE and what you think he can say when the VO ask about the GRE result

Nothing to say that to let the VO understand that he didnt prepare well and the latest version of textbook he order online via amazon got late to him and he used old version text book.. I hope this work out for you

Hope that will work and make sure you dont tell VO you applied to only one school..

Saying he didn't prepare well is tantamount to stating he is not equally prepared to study in the US because life exigencies are inevitable in academic setting . Well, late arrival of the ordered book would have made sense but still not cogent enough as he is expected to have ordered for it long before his exams date. In all, God will favour him to get the visa, it is not by GRE alone. Oga Walspring I salute u sir, I doff my heart for all the gurus including my mentor Slimmy05.

u going for MSC doesn't stop u from carrying along all diz necessary documents (waec). Am also going for my MPA. I've been to embassy twice both Abuja n Lagos n was denied. My first denial was based on d fact dat I did not by any means prepare for d very question asked for "When did u finished ur secondary school" while I was expecting when did u finished ur undergraduate. Although I answer it correctly but it took me half a seconds to flip my eyes up before d answer n d form 214(b) was given to me. At my second interview d first n only document asked was "Let me have ur first degree cert" while I dat claimed dat I graduated in january 2010 went to interview in August 2014 with transcript n I was trying to defend myself dat my former school is yet to produce our set's Cert d VO was like "ko k'aye" n he said u must have gotten it by now n land me with another form 214(b). So pls, learn from all dis my stupidity. A word is enough...

You need to visit the bank today and get it done that way. Or you can send someone to assist, provide the person with your international passport and 27,200. Make sure you indicate the class of visa.

This is exactly how my interview went the time I visited the embassy grin

I won't blame them though. I blame our institutions that would wait for 5years to issue certificate. Was wondering what exactly they are waiting for.

Bro, its not about you being stupid, you were thrown off guard, you know this guys sometimes just want to deny and as such allow emotions to override their basic judgement. Have you been able to get your degree cert. I still have to wait till May, 2015 to get mine grin.

bro, make sure you pack every document 'packable'.
Get a letter from your school stating that your school waives GRE.
When asked how many schools you applied to, just say 4. The VO will ask you to mention them. So, memorize them wella. Please, make sure those schools are not in the same state.
VO may ask how many gave you admission, tell them 3 gave you adm. out 4. Be ready to convince the VO why you prefer your chosen school to the others.
In conclusion, post your likely questions and answers here so it can be addressed by the ogas here.

Moreover, I thought you claim gre is waived by your school. Why not get a letter to back that up?

I was going to ask you.
Couldn't you have used your school's official statement of result?
Because in most cases they even look like degree certificates except they don't have the elaborate design and degree classification but it gets the job done.

@profojah just pray for God's favour. During my sister interview d VO did not check any of her documents,it was only the bank statement the VO check. Make sure u compose yourself, if u are well composed and u answer the questions well and u did not sound suspicious the VO might not even ask for any document from you.

You can tell the VO you apply to 3 school, make sure you know the name of the 3 school cos he/she might ask you, and why you prefer to choose dis particular one. So you must give a genuine answer.

All the best

If I do not have official statement of result, what other proof do I have to show that I am a graduate.

I even tendered the official statement of result alongside student copy of my transcript.

I really do not want to toll the line of argument rather than make him understand that if the certificate have been issued, I see no reason why I wouldn't be here with it. At that point, his reaction and body language didn't just seem right at all. I dashed it to a bad day grin

Stop promoting waiver letter. Why not give an alternative which is writing at least one standardized test.

Even if you want to elope as its all over your profile, don't make it obvious to the VO.

There is nothing confusing there lol. You would have to book appointment date from the available dates you see on your profile. Where do you want to have your interview? Lagos or Abuja? Have you filled your DS160?

I don't know how to explain the portal.

Haha. Clap for yourself:-) Maybe you need to travel through the desert so as to realize that specific amount. Hey, i did well in IELTS as an underdog :-) The British woman who interviewed me asked a lot of questions in order to throw me off balance, but i stood firm :-) told her that i was somewhat mentally prepared. She then nodded and smiled at me. I'm scared of GRE now:-) due to my Math. I've not studied it for so long since I graduated from school.

@slimmy05 There is something bothering me that I just want to be 100% sure about. 2 universities in CT gave me offers. One required GRE/TOEFL and the other waived them. Now I have am waiting for the I -20 of the former. When I wrote GRE, I mistakenly added the latter as one of the score recipients (blame it on excitement). Now will that not look odd to the VO? Like I have a special interest in CT?

Mind you I have an offer from MD and I am waiting for 3 highly ranked universities to reach their decisions (1st, 2nd and 3rd choice).

I just want to be sure about this.

If I get you correctly, in total you selected just three schools as score recipients which includes one from MD and the two schools in CT?

Well, if that is the case, you have nothing to worry. In as much as you know the reason why you chose the school and make sure you inform the VO that you applied to three schools and a valid reason why you chose the one on youre likely to take to the embassy. Dont worry yourself about it.

Clarify please, how many schools did you include in the score recipient? Can you tell the state they are located?
