Firefire: It was their view that the same antecedents and antics that worked against him (Gen. Mohamodu Buhari Rtd.) in 2003, 2007 and 2011 were still in the minds of the electorate, who, the source said, were spread across the northern parts of the country.Buhari has never won even a primary school class prefect election in his entire life and will never win any. 5 Likes |

Only Ahj.Aliko Dangote, the kano born billionaire and Ahj.Sanusi Lamido Sanusi(former CBN gov now emir of kano) are the only northerners that are intelligent and with enough goodwill that would have given Pres.GEJ heat . But these dudes are not contesting. At the absence of the duo Pres.Goodluck jonathan till 2019. This is because President Goodluck Jonathan PDP has defeated both Gen.Buhari and former vice president Atiku at various times.PDP can do it again. And neither tambuwal nor lamido of jigawa state can stand the presidential gang-up of present day nigeria. Since 1960 Nigeria elected presidents are not elected they are choosen. So after 2019 another president will be choosen. 3 Likes |

Buhari can only succeed in ruling Sambisa, who wants a 71yr old to take us back to the 70s and 80s? His biggest supporters knows the liability a Buhari candidacy poses. Even the likes of El-Rufai was saying Buhari is unelectable few years ago. 4 Likes |

An APC implotion looming, and it will be monumental! An opposition party with so much discord within, poor politicking and with a tarnishing link to violence and insurgency. Little wonder politicians with ambition and foresight are defecting. The party's only point of reckoning is the people's clamor for a change, clamor against the seemingly political monopoly of the PDP. Come 2015,it's either the party disintegrates or Buhari swears yet again amidst tears of defeat. They had better field a more formidable candidate, and Buhari had better not see himself as bigger than the party. Or GEJ'll be laughing and partying hard after the polls in 2015. For the records I support neither party. 4 Likes 1 Share |

El-Rufai insists Buhari is unelectable By Segun Balogun Mohammadu Buhari’s record as a military head of state will perpetually render him unelectable because Nigerians will never desire a repeat of such administration, said Nasir El-Rufai, former FCT Minister. Reacting to statements made by the Mohammadu Buhari’s party, Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), regarding the advice he gave the retired army general to retire from politics, Mr. El-Rufai, in a statement on Monday, said age is certainly a factor in the coming presidential election since Ibrahim Babangida has already defamed young Nigerians as unfit for national leadership. “While it is true that neither youth nor age supplies wisdom on their own, it makes sense to ask those who have been recurring decimals in our country’s sorry history to leave the stage. I’m amazed that General Buhari cannot debate this matter without scurrying to the gutter, making claims that are baseless and unsupported by any facts,” said Mr. El-Rufai, describing Mr. Buhari’s leadership style as parochial and insensitive to Nigeria’s diverse background. He asked whether “the failure of Mr. Buhari and Mr. Babangida to do their best for Nigeria when they had the chance qualifies them for a return to office. Our people surely deserve better.” He was obviously irked by the claims made by CPC regarding his administration as a federal minister, describing them as fictitious and prejudicial. “Despite the difficult decisions that had to be taken to restore Abuja, Mallam El-Rufai continues to receive deserved praise and recognition for his achievements in restoring the Abuja master plan, introducing Nigeria’s first computerised land registry, and helping thousands of Nigerians achieve their dreams of home ownership in the federal capital,” the statement said. 4 Likes 1 Share |

To the untamed youths on Nairaland, I say unto you that many of you don't know the meaning of failure. Go and read the history of George Washington. How may times did he contest elections before he became one of the unforgettable American president? That some group of people (the cabal) who felt threatened by Mohammed Buhari decided they did not want him to rule Nigeria did not amount to failure in any way. Buhari not only excelled in his former professional field which was in the army, he also did extremely well as administrators in the public offices. He is surely a man that has always stand for truth, justice and above all self discipline. At this timeline of our national history, we need a strong, uncorrupted, wise and visionary leader to right the course of the sinking ship of our nation. We need to change a lot of things for the future of our yet unborn kids. "We must explore every opportunity to save our country. This is a historic moment when several different political parties have resolved to come together to change Nigeria for the better and stop the mindless drift that has been going on for the last fifteen years. We must understand and accept that we are to make history or forever stand accused and condemned by it. We must seize this moment that calls for patriotism and sacrifice—it is time to sacrifice everything—time , resources, ambition and ego—for the greater good. We should carry this process through to a successful conclusion, and leave our legacy and foot-prints on the history of Nigeria." Rtd Gen. Muhammad Buhari 6 Likes 2 Shares |
