Genuflect: eldee:Most amazing ish is he didnt have to ride the cock of any industry giant to make hits. Majority of his features and his EP were with upcoming artists - EJay, Dark Poet, TFrizzle, Tee Blaq, YQ (when people hardly knew him), Lineo, Kode. Those names you'd hardly hear of but for him |

So it's d street response to his death that determines he's king of flow It's either his death is turnin u to an slowpoke or u r just naturally this way. oNe |

DBR: One thing is clear. . . . .He flows better than Mode-9. Da Grin knows just when to apply his rhymes and his rhyme patterns are world-class. |

Re: Favourite Rap Lines By Nigerian Rappers by eldee(m): 10:37pm On May 04, 2010 |
~Sauron~: Hehe . . . what does Modenine have to do with this?? Dagrin's flow was top-notch though, especially with the way he always need to join series of Yoruba words to do a multie. It's easier with English that has a limitless vocabulary . . . but with Yoruba, it's all about improvising. |

kaydee:When you are the best, everybody will be struggling to beat you. Modenine is the yardstick to measure the authenticity of African MCs/Rappers hence the reason why every body compares every artiste - good, bad, dope, wack, etc with him. @DBR! Next time you post, let it be one of your favourite lines please and ignore any distraction Let me say my RIP to Da Grin at this moment. It hurts more to lose someone you know that close. Kilode Opeke Mo n gbadun bi awon Omode se n gbadun ireke Why now, Omoge to rewa Mo ti ran'yan si e leni l'emewa, o wa - Da Grin (Ko wale) |

Saurone is alive!!!!!! Funny tho that u came back and landed right back where u left off~~on M9's di.ck! Dude, u so last year. And even tho Tosin, u said t'wasnt neccesary U were fast enuff to join Saurone for the mena je toi We were talkin bout Dagrin-RIP U both still ma dude tho. But seriously saurone where u been dude? @eldee I do not think multies is easier in a particular language. There r loads of dudes who cant multie in englias as "vast" as its vocab is. Yoruba is as flexible if not more than most languages: E.g. "OKO": can mean different things, from car, hoe, husband, stone, farm ~~ just change the inflection/tone and u got sth else , so its easy to ryhme and multie wit it. Da grin is the issshh no doubt, but most of y'all runnin mouth didnt think much of that b4 he died! Most pple said he's just a new fresh thang and aint even beta than lord of Ajasa, and now he's the best thing to ever happen to nigerian hiphop?? Goin as far as sayin he's the king of flow, and borrowin from Tosin- the "simple as A B C" absurdity he flows beta than M9, and since he's now the king then he beta than M.i too?? Seriously, me think u both r just silly duo of crackheads @topic simplistic/ misfits/ get dismissed/ attention~u not on ma diss-list/ free me~or end up with slit-wrist/ I'm notjustok I'm sadistic / bloggers can all kiss this/ piss-Stick/ testis / u soft like wet biscuits/ crush *wrestling pumps*~lipstick/ middle finger~ u apes wanna poo this/ ma instinct/ animalistic/~that's a mystique/ feel it in the air~im so egotistic/ aim for ma spot~close range but u missed it/!! -Rap Messiah -M9 oNe |

Re: Favourite Rap Lines By Nigerian Rappers by eldee(m): 10:48am On May 05, 2010 |
DBR: The easiest way to do a multie is to drop a complex word, and then find another word with only the first letter changed and then use slant rhymes till you get to the end. That's easier to do with English . . , Resident/President/Let's Invent/Incident/Yes he learnt . . . even 9ice multied on Street Credibility. Yoruba is way different because just the intonation can mess up your whole multie . . . oko(husband) pronounced as oko(hoe) makes your multies gas. Besides Dagrin multies names/English phrases with Yoruba phrases . . . how can you say that's not genius?? Dagrin pelu KSB, Won ba wa tebi tebi Dagrin oro labi, KSB orin labi E ma d'Olorun lebi, you know who we be DBR: Due respect . . . but that statement is reckless coming from you. Of course his death made his music reach more people, but aren't we quoting lyrics to support these opinions?? If I didn't know M.I before he got a record deal, that takes away my right to say he's Naija's best right?? Or those that didn't know Nneka before she got a MOBO should shut up because they didn't know her before then?? DBR: Dagrin is the best at what he did . . . that was an accepted fact even when he was alive. Go look at the thread comparing him to Lord of Ajasa and correct your statement. . . ignore any posts after his accident. I didn't want to bring Modenine into this, but everyone knows delivery is not Modenine's strongest point, he couldn't even hold that aspect against Ruggedman. I don't know of the new album though. |
Re: Favourite Rap Lines By Nigerian Rappers by eldee(m): 10:50am On May 05, 2010 |
@DBR Why you dey corrupt this thread with wack lines na . . . oya edit that pr*ck part out. |
Re: Favourite Rap Lines By Nigerian Rappers by Sauron1: 10:56am On May 05, 2010 |
DBR: M.I. is still better than Mode-9. I made the biggest mistake of me life buying Mode-9's Da Vinci Mode. . . . .I shoulda just thrown the money in a pit latrine. Nigga was so useless he was rapping about Super Eagles, i mean WTF?
Game recognises game. If you have a listening ear, you would know Da Grin rides his beats. Listen to "Swag" and "Pon Pon Pon". He made those beats his own. . . . .No useless pauses(like Mode-9 does when he runs out of things to say).
Blame his promotion crew for not getting his classic album out there in time. Death or not, his album is RICH and better than anything your Mode-Failure has copped in his entire life.
What's so complex about these lines of rubbish? Lip stick, piss-stick, biscuits. How generic are these rhymes? Are these even multis in the grand scheme of things? Abeg, Mode-9 is a Arrow. He should give up rapping and stop fooling deluded cock-lickers like you and Khanye. |

Re: Favourite Rap Lines By Nigerian Rappers by chamotex(m): 11:06am On May 05, 2010 |
Anybody can write up multies but how you present and deliver it is what makes you stand out. DBR, I've seen better multies from you on this forum than the one you posted for M9 there. I'm sure M9 has better multies than that. FFS, even Ofoka pens multis. |
Re: Favourite Rap Lines By Nigerian Rappers by eldee(m): 11:11am On May 05, 2010 |
@Sauron Is Da Vinci Mode out on I-tunes yet?? chamotex: Lipstick, biscuits, excreta this Truth be told though, his multies in 9ice's song were next level. His was the best of all the three collabos. |
