Re: The Educative Game by Sauron1: 11:19pm On Jun 17, 2009 |
@ Chiogo, Thats the longest way of going about it. Just set the denominator, x-2=0 then x=2 Then substitute x for 2, f(2) = 24 - 3(2)2 + 7(2) - 10 = 16 - 12 + 14 -10 = 8 |

Re: The Educative Game by Sauron1: 11:28pm On Jun 17, 2009 |
jay bee: A=1, B=4. 5(x + 2) = 1/(x+1) + 4/(x+6) (x+1)(x+6) |
Re: The Educative Game by jaybee3(m): 11:30pm On Jun 17, 2009 |
~Sauron~:Correct |
Re: The Educative Game by TOPE20001(f): 11:31pm On Jun 17, 2009 |
~Sauron~: 91 / 216 ![]() working ![]() Since we need at least one six, let us calculate the negation of this…I mean calculate the probability of not getting a six on any of these three dice. The probability of not getting a six on a die is 5/6 Since the three events here are independent events, the probability of not getting six on any of these three dice is 5/6×5/6×5/6 = 125/216. Hence the probability of getting at least one six is 1-125/216 = 91/216. |
