Halpher: Am waiting since you can't even prove me wrong.SmhYoung boy, what secondary school did you attend? You're really making that school seem bad! Water is a compound cos it contains hydrogen molecule and oxygen. Water is not a hygroscopic compound! A hygroscope is a substance that absorbs water molecules from other substances without chemically reacting with d water to form a discrete solution or another substance. I really don't knw where you learnt that water is a hygroscopic compound! |

Benjaminbest: i cant believe what am reading....lets not argue about dis....since u said water is hygroscopic why dont u back up ur point with reasons....science is not prediction it is experiment Thank you Sire! Because it propably have the tendency to donate and still attract an ion of another element or compound itself, and the word hygroscopic for this type of liquid compound said it will be dilluted instead of forming a solution.jst straight and simple.Tanx! |

Re: Jamb Lecture/past Questions For Science/art Students by Thewhizzkid1(m): 9:28am On Sep 23, 2014 |
mathefaro: Hygroscopic substances absorb or adsorb moisture(water) when exposed to the atmosphere and do not form a solution, so they either become sticky(solids) or increase in volume(liquids) which also results in dilution. They could be solids or liquids in some cases like that of methanol, ethanol or sulfuric acidCORRECT.. |
