This is the answer u provided and my judgement grin

1. The mean of seven numbers is 10. If six of the numbers are 2, 4, 8, 14, 16 and 18. Find the mode.

Your answer : 2+4+8+14+16+18+x/7=10:x=8 mode=8

correct

2. The radius of a circle is increasing at the rate of 0.02cm/s. Find the rate at which the area is increasing when the radius of the circle is 7cm.

Your answer 2pi r*0.02
2*3.142*7*0.02=0.879

wrong

Correction: A = pi r2

dA/dR= 2pi r

dr/dt= 0.02

dA/dt= dA/dr * dr/dt

= 2pi r * 0.02

= 2 * 22/7 * 7 * 0.02

= 44 * 0.02

= 0.88cm2/s

3. In how many ways can a student select 2 subjects from 5 subjects?

Your answer 5p2=5!/2!3!=10

wrong

Correction: 5C 2

This is how you can get 10.

4. Solve for x and y in equations below:
x2- y2= 4
x + y = 2

Your answer : X^2-y^2=4
X+y=2
(X+y)(x-y)=4
2(x-y)=4
X-y=2
Put x=2-y
Y=0;x=2

correct

5. The angles of a polygon are given by x, 2x, 3x, 4x and 5x respectively. Find the value of x.

Your answer: X+2x+3x+4x+5x=15x
(2n-4)90
(2*5-4)90
6*90=540
15x=540
X=36

correct

6. Find the distance between the point (4,3) and the intersection of y=2x+4 and y=7-x.

Your answer Y=y
2x+4=7-x
3x=3
X=1
Y=6
(1 6)
(4 3)(1 6)
(1-4)^2+(6-3) ^2=18

correct but put square root.

7. If angle X is 135o, evaluate cos X

Your answer : Cos135=sin(180-135)=
Sin45=cos45=
1/ root2

wrong

Correction:
-cos (180-135)
-cos45
-1/root 2
. You didn't put minus.

9. The mean of seven numbers is 96. If an eight number is added, the mean becomes 112. Find the eight number.

Your answer
X/7=96=672
672+x/8=112
672+x =896
X=224

correct

10. A chord of a circle of radius 7cm is 5cm from the centre of the circle. What is the length of the chord?

Your answer
7^2-5^2
49-25
24=
Root of 24=4.9
4.9*2=9.8

correct

11. A solid metal cube of side 3cm is placed in a rectangular tank of dimensions 3cm, 4cm and 5cm. What volume of water can the tank now hold?

Your answer v.of the cube=3^3=27
V.Of tank=3*4*5=60
Total volume=60+27=87cm^3

wrong

Correction: you are to subtract.
