Buhari campaign team replies Presidency
October 17, 2014Press Release

The All Progressives Congress, APC, has described the attitude of the People’s Democratic Party- led Federal Government on the chances of being defeated by the opposition party as vague and unrealistic.
The National Chairman of the party, John Oyegun, who reacted Thursday to a statement credited to President Goodluck Jonathan’s Special Adviser on Public Affairs, Doyin Okupe, described him as lacking in knowledge of history and practical reality.
“Well it means that they are not good students of history and they are not realistic and practical.
“Before now, there was no truly national alternative in this nation; before now, we had the ANPP that was domiciled in the North East, we had the ACN that was domiciled in the South West and off course they had members all over the places.
“We had APGA that was largely domiciled in the South East. These three forces have been wielded together. Today we have a national party that is represented, the APC, strongly in every corner of the country. Today man, woman, child are crying for change and the dynamics are different and l pray they continue to mis-read the signs of the changing times and that would be good for us,” Mr. Oyegun said.
In the same vein, the Buhari Campaign Organization has advised the presidency to carefully go through Mr. Buhari’s declaration speech before resorting to invectives and mudslinging.
The team said contrary to the statement issued by the presidency, Mr. Buhari is bringing new tidings to Nigeria, as clearly stated in his declaration speech, among which is provision of maximum security of lives and property, provision of youth employment and tackling corruption which has become blatant and widespread.
A statement issued yesterday by a member of the leadership of the campaign organisation, Osita Okechukwu, said Mr. Buhari first and foremost is a patriot who does not need to school in Harvard to appreciate that millions of our dear countrymen are grappling with extreme poverty, and barely eking out a living.
“It is our candid view that if President Goodluck Jonathan has in the past four years provided Nigerians with adequate security, waged strident war against corruption, and ruled according to the spirit and letters of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as amended; the urgent call of millions of Nigerians for GMB to come and fix the country and stop the dangerous slide of Nigeria into failed state, could not have arisen.
According to him, the National Bureau of Statistics Report bear unequivocal testimony “to the truism that the economy continues to deteriorate, with epileptic power supply, collapse of industries, massive food imports and business uncertainty; while the Government continues to announce fantastic growth figures.
“In sum, we will restrain ourselves from mudslinging and advise the presidency to do so as well as; for if we are forced to release the ungodly dossier in our docket, the country will troop the streets,” he said.

Don't mind this wicked party called the PDP that always come to tell us rubbish whenever we are nearing election. They will do this or that for us, but after every election, citizens will wait and wait and nothing will come out. Things will go from bad to worst instead. The era of politics of deceit by the PDP is gone. What we see on ground, touch and feel represents our truth. They keep lying to us that Nigeria has the highest and fastest growing economy in Africa. Yet, no food, jobs, electricity, health care, security etc. How can a country that don't have common electricity to ginger manufacturing sector to be the fastest growing economy?
