We intend to go into commercial canine breeding on an acre of land in the Badagry axis of Lagos. We are hoping to purchase thoroughbreds and champion bloodlines from the US and UK and breed them here in Lagos. Although this is a commercial venture, it is being prosecuted by the investors because of their love for canines. Also, we intend to model some parts of the construction on the 6 plots of land after Cesar Milan's Dog Psychology Centre where dog owners can bring them for appropriate training. Please anyone with professional experience and/or contacts in large scale dog breeding in Nigeria and elsewhere should kindly contact me. 'Tayo 08093234522 08121459053 Popoyeh@live.com 1 Like |

One of the driving force to breeding dogs is passion and not for commercialization. @ op your topic sounds disturbing (dog farming)... 1 Like |

oluomoadebayo: that's correct. @op, stick to Africa. You will get varieties of pure breed in South Africa. If you do your findings well, you can get in Nigeria. |

well. cesar milan's DOG PSYCHOLOGY CENTRE is quite huge, and has- - a lot of green areas - a lot of cages, -spaces for horses and llamas(they help with the training) -swimming pools, -dog training grounds, -dog play grounds, -human play grounds, -race tracks -it is not surrounded by buildings as it is in the mountain sides, so it is far away from noise, pollution, and further human contact, - with a lot of spaces to walk the dogs most importantly, the dog psychology center is for rehabilitation, putting less emphasis on commercialisation... #justsaying |

Thanks everyone for your responses; we are especially grateful for the 'red flags' raised. I mentioned that we are doing this for love of canines (Passion), even though we have sustainability in mind (commercialization). Between, folks breed dogs to sell to others all over the world and the acre of land will ensure that there is enough space and the dogs are not kept in inhuman/inanimal conditions. Its obvious we don't know enough, that is why I posted here in the first place, otherwise, we would have gone ahead according to our knowledge. I got a text message last night from someone in here, but I somehow can't find it today, please kindly send it again. Finally, this is a project borne out of passion, else the land and funds proposed for it would have been utilized for something else. Cheers. |

I still can't get your point. People breed dogs and sell all over the World, Yes.but have u found out how they breed them? 1. Most of them do justone breed of dog, some. Keep just one dog for breeding. 2. Their dogs stay indoors and are part of their family. 3. They love every dog they have. I wonder how you'll love over 10 dogs and maintain that. Dog farming is an abuse, cos the dogs don't get enough love they need. Except ure opening a dog-shelter. And dog shelters don't breed. Seun can shed more light on this. |
