I am happy for APC for electing Buhari as the party presidential flagbearer. Successfully sail through one hurdle. All the potential running mates have been tested and they all have good track records. If APC can pick a strong woman of high integrity from the south, perhaps a christian, though not mandatory, person like Dr Oby Ezekwesili, and use the likes of Fashola, Osiomole, Amechi and so on as ministers, this country will at least be saved from destruction. PDP have run out of ideas since 1999, the country is not getting better, let us embrace change and vote in APC in 2015. Congratulations General Buhari as we celebrate your swearing in ceremony as the next president of Federal Republic of Nigeria

Even with a SS or SE VP, only APC party members and some few others will vote APC in the SS / SE. -------Fact 1

The only thing APC needs to fight for in the 11 states of SS + SE, is to ensure it has 25% votes in at least 2 of the 11 states.

Once we come to terms with the fact above, it will be clear that the VP candidate must come from the SW.


The SW candidate must also be popular enough to have been well known before now within the 6 SW states.

Voters turnout will be higher in the SW . A fayemi that lost his direct constituency not quite long is nt a good omen, A osunbajo is not well known, though he will have no political or religious baggage.

Fashola is still the best bet, though might come with religious baggage, which will be really mild within the SW.

It's always amusing how we tend to recolor history to suit our purpose. Everyone who was involved in a military coup d'etat will say their effort was a patriotic gesture of rescue, a selfless salvage mission and what not. The fact is a coup d'état will always remain that - a forceful takeover of government. They will not want to mention that it's a power grab plain and simple. There is no way we can reconcile that with democratic principles and this shadow will forever loom against Buhari's campaign.

Aside from putting aside his army fatigue how can Buhari prove that he is a democrat, one who is willing to consider the views and aspirations of others that are not in line with his?

It's also funny that you say he is a tried an tested leader. So in the ~18 months that his dictatorship lasted you were able to gleen that he is the best man suited for leading this country forward come 2015. Lol!

It's only in Nigeria that a dictator can become a democrat overnight.
