Are The Media To Blame For The High Turnover In Football Management? by omitutu: 1:56pm On Dec 06, 2008
As Fergie recently noted in an interview, the football manager job
is quite a precarious position in the premier league era. Following
the resignation of Roy Keane, 15 games into the season, and less than
three seasons on the job, he waxed nostalgic for an era where he honed
his art, when it was the norm for a manager to spend close to a decade at
a club.

So what is responsible for this state of affairs?

The embattled Blackburn manager Paul Ince, argues it is the fault of the media.
Perhaps in the hope for a story, or perhaps the flexing of media power, Ince and
many others before him have castigated the press for unsettling club faithfuls, whether
it be at board level or on the terraces.

Do you chaps agree??

The media can't be blamed for the shiznit.
Of course, they only report what they see. . . . .sometimes they exaggerate what they see but who cares??
Players/managers should buckle up. . . . . .They earn too much to give shambolic performances week in week out.

U have to blame the boom. . . . . .The stakes are high now.
Fans expect to see more from the prima donnas footballers have turned themselves into.
Players earn as much as 150k per week in the Premiership(that is THRICE as much as medical doctors get ANNUALLY)

I think d blame should go to d club owners and management. Most of them are too impatient, overambitious . But i try to understand them, they pay those players and coaches big money.

It is true the media should share d blame. Football is very popular these days. So u can find every tom, dick and harry with d sporting press.
Personally, i sometimes disappointed with what i read in d sporting press. They write so many silly and baseless articles, u wonder how dull they are.

Exactly ma sentiments!!

They pay those managers and players more than they make.
All the clubs in the bottom time spend more on their wages than the revenue they generate.
So if the managers are not getting it right, it is only natural for the management to sack him and bring in someone that can get em out of trouble.
The difference between 18th and 17th position in the Premiership is about 30 million pounds.

That is hotwire. . . . . . .The media is just capitalising on the masses.
They put out what football fans want to see and it sells. I cannot blame the media for the failings of Wenger or Roy Keane.
If they get their shit together, there wouldn't be any need to slate em.
Are they slating Hull's manager??
