It all started in 2009, here it goes
My sister is naturally fair, not jst fair bt very very fair in complexion, so she bought a tube cream for her pimple named Betnovate C, little did i knw dat it was a bleaching cream, i started applying it on my face, and my face only,

in jst 2 days tym , my face became very fair, very very fair, mean while d rest of my skin is still my normal dark colour, dat time i was stil in secondary skul and we were on holidays, so afta d resumption of skul


on d second week i went 2 skul & 2 my gr8test surprise every body started looking at me, bcus my face is so white and my body color is black so i was always shy, but still i continue 2 use d cream jst bcus my face luks so much handsum dan it used 2 b wen i was dark, so it cums 2 a tym wen mostly all my frnds started 2 call me bleaching face, so dere was a day dat i send one of my frnd 2 call a girl 4 me, wen d girl came and my frnd pointed me to her dat i was d 1 calling her , wen she saw me she was shocked and said in a loud voice... Tufiakwa God 4bid, dat was wen i realised i should stop using d cream , so i stopped. But d big problem is dat my colour refused 2 go back to normal, instead it bcame more and more fairer, there was notin i culd do dan 2 live with it like dat, 3months past... Six months past... 9months gone... And finally it bcame 1year since i stopped applying d cream but still yet my skin was still fair but not as whitish as it is b4, dis tym it bcame reddish, so i started doing all sorts of research on google on how 2 bring my skin colour back to normal as it is b4 but up to no avail, so i saw a post on ask.com on how sum pple apply bleaching cream to deir skin to match their skin colour with d already light skin, and i said to my self dat dis is d solution to my problem, so i searched on google on list of bleaching creams and i decided to go 4 Bio - Claire , an dat eveling i went 2 a near by super market and bought d small cup of bio-claire, so i started applying it on my skin dat same eveling, after just only 3 - 4 days of applying all my skin colour changed 4rm dark to light, and i was very contented with it at first...

So let me say my problems starts here.

So i started applying it once in every 3 days, slowly slowly i changed formation and started applying it once in a week bcus it made me so light, so i can't b applying it every day, the main problem is my school uniform shirt hand, bcus we were wearing short hand uniform, i tink i was in SSS2 at dat tym, so after applying d cream i will walk in d sun 2 go to skul bcus my skul was very far and walk back home at also, den suddenly i noticed sum changes in my skin most xpecially my muscle part, it was so so so so so whitish bcus d sun has never hit it, while my hands was so reddish, bt now it has bcum a little darker, so after i finished secondary skul at d yr 2011, i was always indoor all d tym bcus of my very fair muscle and dark hands, bt i had it in mind 2 go & learn computer , or started working montly wrk, so i had a gr8t idea dat i can start wearing longsleevs and folding it till it gets 2 my elbow, so dat d whitish part of my muscle will not be visible , so i eventually started wearing longsleeves , one year past , 2yrs past, 3yrs past and now we are in 2015 and am still wearing longsleeves all d days of my life till now..... If u are readin dis nw & i tell u nw dat for gud 3yrs now and even close to 4yrs no body, not even my mother dat am leaving with, has ever saw my muscle or my back or tummy u ll not bleave me, It made me nt 2 ve any relation bcus i ll always say 2 my self, wat if we were abt 2 make love & d girl decided 2 pull my shirt den am FINISHED, So i came here to look for a perm. solution for my problem on how to make my muscle darker so dat it can match d skin colour of my hands, i have tried so many tins on how to make it darker but up to no avail, i have applied Loko, crude oil, clay, relaxer, d liquid of an onoin, salt, grinded broken plate, sawdust, charcoal,i have bought razor blade and started tearin my muscle so dat wen d wound heals it ll leave sum dark mars, jst recently i bought polish and started applying it, am alwayz on google.com searching for lists of tins dat can make me darker but all dat i hv found and tried are not working, i have bought nivea, cocoa butter, iodine , spirit plus so many much more dat i cnt even remember but my muscle is still very fair even doh i have stopped using d cream 3 yrs ago, it still refused to go to its original colour, bt notin seems to make it darker, sumtimes i ll use my hand d muscle part to near fire and bear d heat so dat it will dark bt its stil d same, sum times i will search on google and d nxt tin am wearing my longsleeves walking 2 d chemist to buy sum drugs dat ll darken me, bt i tink dose drugs are nt in Nigeria bcus i don't always find dem in d chemist, now dat dere is no were for me 2 go i turned here bcus nairaland always gives solution to pple prob. no matter how brutal it is, so my pple i want to live a normal life, am tired of wearing longsleves i want to wear normal shirts like Lacoste, bodies, handless and d rest , pls hlp me pls i need ur help on how to make my skin very dark , my muscle i want it very dark, very very dark pls help me pls i beg of u pls help me, tnks as i listen 2 ur replies

To every problem is a cause and effect. for every solution is in the cause. my advice for you is to buy that cream that cause the problem again, read its manual and call em number.. . am sure they will have solution for you. or better still go hospital

Stop using all the creams you have now. Get yourself vaseline it may take a while but you'll recover.

Visit a certified Dermatologist or Cosmetologist and you will be fine... Don't seek help from Quacks.

I can only help u in two ways, either by:

laughing or continue using d creams. Once ur skin melts ur shirt can easily be removed.

why should you change to please people? start by taking that shirt off today and walking for everybody to see that is you nobody can be you more than you,you will be amazed some people will like it #BELIEVE IN YOURSELF

I guess you didn't read the part where it said that If this medicine "Betnovate C" is used on the face, wherever possible it should not be used for longer than five days but I guessed you used it for more than a month and now your looking whiter than your future. Sorry, but I don't think I can offer any help to you. My best advice is consult a professional dermatologist and stop worsening your problem with self medication. My #10 cents

The truth is that I laughed in some places and almost wept for you in some places (broken plate applied to skin?) but all in all I can see that this is a serious matter and that you are very desperate.

So this is my advice for you.


Your skin is naturally black because of melanocytes. These are the cells that colour your skin and make you the colour that you are. These are also the cells you 'kill' when you start bleaching. Using all those gamut of creams has caused severe damage to your melanocytes and has affected your self esteem so much that you cover your body to prevent others from seeing it. Tragically, this behaviour of yours worsened your situation without your knowing because the Sun( and not artificial fire or burning your hand) would have been your saving grace.

The sun(any kind of sunlight but afternoon sun is better in this matter), is what will reactivate and multiply your damaged melanocytes. But because of the years you have stayed with this problem, it might take longer.

This is what you will do.

1. Stop ALL creams immediately. Stop everything.

2. Stop googling. Googling things does not make you a specialist on something , it just gives you a little knowledge. No matter how much you google you cam never become a dermatologist. Take it from me.

3. Your soap for the next one year will be dudu osun only. Dudu osun works in that it will help rejuvenate your melanocytes and take you back to your normal colour(this is why ladies that bleach hate it so much ).

4. Your pomade/cream for the rest of your life will be Vaseline petroleum jelly only. This protects your skin from the hazards that bleaching would have exposed it to. It is also harmless to your body. Let me explain. The bleaching creams you have been using have not only affected your skin but have been absorbed by the skin and affected other organs as well especially your kidneys. Dont be afraid, the treatment for that is simply to stop the creams like you are going to do and take a good amount of water. Vaseline will put a stop to the damage as well as help your skin retain water again.

5. Finally the hard part. You need to expose your skin. Sunlight will reactivate your melanocytes and repair your skin. Covering it up with long sleeves is what has been delaying the darkening process. Unfortunately facial skin is more delicate than body skin so the face might take longer to heal but the rest of your body should return to normal in about 2years time. So you better work on getting your self esteem back. Realise that people only laugh for a moment then move on to other things. The more you expose your skin the quicker it will heal.

Brother you need to stop applying stuff to your skin. Vaseline will do the job it may take a while but your skin will recover. Any quick method will likely cause more harm. Forget "sumtin" you can apply.

Oga those tube creams can be deadly. It almost happened to me too. Where I usually buy my personal stuffs in yaba, the woman didn't have my soap so I went to another place in the same complex. Fortunately they had my soap there. So I asked the guy who attended to me if he had something I can use for a little rash on my face. He gave me this lemon looking tube cream. I think it's called virgin something. Cant really remember the name again. He said it will clear the rash and make my face sparkle. Innocent me went home and used it
The third day I looked at the mirror I noticed that I wasn't as dark as I used to be. The rashes had dried up but there were still traces So I continued for one week. My face became spotless and flawless. That period I went to see old friends and visited my old neighbourhood. People were asking me if I travelled abroad just because I looked lighter. I had more admirers. All this within one week. That moment I understood why women bleach.

What I noticed was that after some days that I used it, apart from looking lighter, the cream kon dey pepper me. Especially around my eyes. I was almost tempted to continue but there is no light person in my family. Where would I say I got my own from plus my dad will disown me.

There is nothing new under the sun, have you seen a burns patient before? As in someone that fire burnt from head to toe? You think they go round wearing long sleeves?

You have to overcome your shyness if you want this condition to go away. There is no other way!

Gradual exposure to the sun is your solution. Gradual because the melanin to protect u frm da harmful sun rays is gone. Sudden and continuous exposure can cause cancer. Do expose yourself in the early hours of the morning till around 11 o'clock. Use shea butter on your skin and a mild soap. There is no way you can be dark again without the sun. As your skin gets expoosed to it, it protects itself by producing the melanin. Hope it helps. It may keep long but that is the only way.

Try getting unmixed palm kernel oil - not palm oil - the dark colored strong smelling oil gotten from the inner kernel. Its really strong smelling but very good for replenishing damaged skin, asides from the very strong odour, you should be able to notice changes in about 2-3 months of consistent use. Best of luck!

Funbat and nixoderm actually lightens the skin. They are some steroids in them. Also they clear up the skin to prevent rashes. Put them away quickly. Moreover it took u months to get fair. It will take even longer to go back. Is like growing big and trying to loose weight. Hope u get the patience.
