Wait, Robins!!! I think I discovered a technical mistake. The answer should be B 12:15:10 . After careful observation, I think the jamb paq is wrong.

q= 5/6 * 3/4
= 5/8

P: 5/8 = 2/3 : 5/6

8p/5 = 2/3 * 6/5

8p/5 = 4/5

8p= 4

p= 1/2

5/8 : r = 3/4 : 1/2

5/8r = 3/4 * 2

5/8r = 3/2

24r= 10

r= 10/24

r= 5/12

Therefore, p= 1/2, q= 5/8, r=5/12

1/2, 5/8, 5/12

LCM is 24

(12: 15 : 10) / 24

Answer==> 12:15:10

If p:q = 2/3 : 5/6 and q:r = 3/4 : 1/2 , find p:q:r

A. 15:10:4
B. 12:15:10

p/q=2/3÷5/6

q/r=3/4÷1/2

(NB. the ratio sign changed to division in both R.H.S and L.H.S of the equations )

simplify the L.H.S of the both equation to get p, q and r.

p/q=2/3×6/5=12/15=4/5 ......(1)

q/r=3/4×2/1=6/4=3/2 .......(2)

now observe clearly you will figure out that q is not the same value in both equations. you may make choice of which you choose to make as the standard equation for the other because the both are not equal but share some relationship (q) with each other.

so,

p/q=4/5 and q/r= 3/2

taking equation (2) as the standard,
therefore, q=3 and r=2 for p/q=4/5

now multiply both sides of equation (1)
by q to get p.

p=4/5×3=12/5

then,

p:q:r=12/5:3:2

(multiply the ratio figures by 5 to get whole numbers only)

p:q:r=12:3:2

now it's easy right.
