There are a lot of the points, such as the inconsistency in killing Uzzah and sparing David I brought up and the other ones about the tower of babel, creation story e.t.c. that others have brought up and they do seem irrational (maybe not to you) because you are starting from a position (beleiver)which beleives that God exists and is the God of the bible and then finding excuses or explanation for his seeming inconsistencies while some of us start from the opposite side by either beleiving he doesn't exist(Atheist) or that he might not exist (Agnostic) hence being able to see the inconsistencies clearly because we have no reasons to find excuses for him.

About the question, that was just me being a bit cheeky but I wouldn't want to pressure you for an answer though I must say I find it a bit difficult to beleive that if yu're susceptible to temptation by food you wouldn't be susceptible to sexual temptation (being basic human desires you see) even though I understand that our genetic makeup determines our predisposition to such temptations.

While we are on the issue though,  I wouldn' t mind knowing what your view is on the matter.

I understand what you mean about us looking at the matter from two different views. Again, just as anything in life, to make an accurate judgement of something, one must first have all the information surrounding that event/character and also all the possible scenarios - just like, testing an unknown gas for combustion, solubility etc in order to determine what it is. Neither you nor I have all the facts surrounding biblical events. We weren't there, and even if we were, being the different people that we are, we could have interpreted the events in different ways. Based on this, coupled with the number of events in the Bible which positively outweigh the seemingly negative ones,   I can say that these events you speak of are not irrational. If you do however, wish to plough through these issues one-by-one with neither positive nor negative bias, I'll be more than happy to plough through them with you.

God does not force us to believe in him, though he could. Instead, he has provided sufficient proof of his existence for us to willingly respond to him. The earth's perfect distance from the sun, the unique chemical properties of water, the human brain, DNA, the number of people who attest to knowing God, the gnawing in our hearts and minds to determine if God is there, the willingness for God to be known through Jesus Christ.

Make of it what you will.  It is in your bible and only typifies the barbarism of the god of the bible.  If you want more example of the arbitary and vindinctive nature of your god, I am only too happy to provide them.

I will henceforth listen to my own advice with regards to my first post on this topic - therefore this is my last post on this matter.The last 2 hours I have spent on this thread has brought me to the conclusion that everyone posting on this thread is inherently of some opinion or the other. No one is here, "seeking", or "searching" or begging God to come down. We all have our minds made up about one thing or the other. Anyone "seeking answers", who is true to themselves will find answers in the end.

To those feel that there is "not enough evidence" for Christianity, and who will like to consider evidence provided apart from the Bible, I have attached a brief discussion of this as an attachment to this post. (So as not to paste it on here, and hence be cramming preaching down your throat)

P.P.S @ duduspace - It would be senseless to defend a cause that one does not believe in, at all costs. About the existence of God, this is something I do know/am very very very very very sure about . And I'm not "defending" per se, I'm just trying to provide reason and evidence for what I do know and believe in. Besides, if God is big enough to do all the mighty things that he did, surely he is big enough to defend himself? In his own time? (Not when we demand that he does, as he is not answerable to us - it is the other way round!)
