Can some assist with information on browsing with WLAN. My laptop sees WLAN networks: secured and unsecured. Can anyone assist? Would really appreciate it. |

most brand new computers if not all can and will detect any wireless internet connectivity. however, you may not be able to connect to them if you do not have their WEP key. |

There are some WLANs that are ad-hoc, i.e. they are just created by people who want to share files. If you connect to one, it's very unlikely that you browse. If you're sure a WLAN browses but it's security-enabled, you need the key. The only way I know of getting it is asking some network administrator, or guessing if you're feeling lucky (dumb, right?). I'm not into methods of bypassing security, so I don't know if that's possible. |
