~Sauron~:Close but no cigar go listen to Red and Meth's classics you have been sleeping on those cats ~Sauron~:For where!! why not Pasuma and Obesere they don't even come close abeg go listen to City Lights ft UGK and feel Red and Meth spit lava ~Sauron~:You can't be serious still Nas is good i agree but AZ compared to Red and Meth? man stop smoking hay ~Sauron~:I like Jigga you know that but he and Bleek do not have as much chemistry as Red and Meth i was even expecting you to say Jigga and B.I.G or Jigga and Scarface ~Sauron~:Why not Flowshow and Ofokasibe If i would pick other cats that have chemistry it would be Jadakiss/Styles iice:You would even love them when they are featured as guests on other tracks funkybaby:I have listened to those tracks Spliff's verses where weak now the entire Flipmode squad ain't no good at rapping |
Re: Top 10 Most Underrated Rappers. by Sauron1: 5:22pm On Apr 01, 2009 |
A-40: Deep Cover, Dre's Day, Nuthing But A 'G' Thang, Still DRE. Are u shitting me??
Redman and Meth are kool but they are not on the same level of the 2 fatsos. Gosh, go and cop Big Pun's debut album and see the verbiage chemistry of the fat cats.
A-40, Are u high on Bolivian hash?? Have u forgotten these 2 cats on THE FIRM??
I would even choose these combo before Dre/Snoop. "Marcy to Hollywood", "Coming of Age", "Parking Lot", "U, Me, Him, Her" Memphis Bleek is so underrated.
Patiently Waiting has more substance than any Meth/Red collabo and trust me. . . .i love "Rockwilda" Robin n Gatman, The Re-Up etc. Those are rap classics. Boom boom shock, boom boom boom shock. . . . .
LOX cats?? They are wack together. Gimme Jada solo and i would be fyne. |
Re: Top 10 Most Underrated Rappers. by Bamsyle(m): 6:14pm On Apr 01, 2009 |
@Funkybaby Spliffstar Are you serious iice: In the league of most underrated rappers, Redman stands out as the very best . . . he's consistent . . . very crazy . . . much as I like Busta Rhymes, I still remember how he effortlessly sonned him in 'Da Goodness' . . . he's a rap machine . . . his voice/flows are out of this world!!! A-40: Probably Nah, 'definitely' is more appropriate . . . which other team/duo even comes close Heavens, you're talkin' about the Chakademus & Pliers of Rap. A-40: True that . . . "How High" was a monumental hit . . . same goes for countless other guest appearances these demi-gods made . . . What a combo . . . Redman with the hell-raisin' voice . . . Meth comes with the mellow-it angle . . . I first loved 'em guys in 2pac's "Got My Mind Made Up" . . . these dudes blend on any kinda joint . . . hardcore, R'n'B, name it . . . Pupils would have a better understanding of the word "Chemistry" if Red/Meth were used as case study. |
Re: Top 10 Most Underrated Rappers. by A40(m): 10:35pm On Apr 01, 2009 |
~Sauron~:I agree Dre and Snoop where good and those tunes where classics but they did not have as much chemistry and would not be mentioned ahead of Redman and Method Man in any rap tag team countdown ~Sauron~:Ohh stop it!! is it Fat Joe that started rhyming a little better after Big Pun died? Big Pun was good but comparing him to Tical and The Doc is rather naive in my opinion ~Sauron~:I don't care if they ran the Corporation! go listen to the entire Blackout album and come back to me on Red and Meth ~Sauron~:You can't tell me nothing about the Roc man i eat, sleep and drink Rocafella! Beanie Sigel was a far better sparring partner for Jay-Z than Memph Bleek go and listen to Guess who's back,Pop 4 Roc,Do it again,What we do is wrong,This can't be life e.t.c ~Sauron~:Your bias for anything Fiddy and Eminem is becoming nauseating.Robin and Gatman? you must be high on cohiba! Go listen to 2 tears in a bucket on Ruff Ryders Vol2 and hola at me ~Sauron~:LOX whack? you should stick to Juju!! go and listen to Money,Power,Respect 24 Hours to live Reservoir Dogs and their Ruff Ryder tracks you would understand them better @Bamsyle Word!! |
Re: Top 10 Most Underrated Rappers. by Sauron1: 11:35pm On Apr 01, 2009 |
A-40: No chemistry can beat 'Deep Cover'. U can add 'Next Episode' to it also.
Go and cop 'Glamour life' on Big Pun's debut album. Forget their looks, the fatsos are legends.
Blackout album?? Maybe 3-4 songs are worth listening to. . . . Others are just noise.
Beanie Sigel?? He is trash. His voice spoils rap songs. His input on Freeway's 'What We Do' was a disgrace. Freeway and Jigga rode the beats until Beanie Sigel crowded with watery lyrics. Have u also forgotten how Amil made him look like amateur on '4 da Fam'. Bleek is so underrated Jigga actually said he would remember him in his will when he's gone.
Fiddy and Em are siamese twins. U can't take it from the 2 cats.
Their best collabo was 'Rockwilda' and the song was irritatingly short to qualify as a classic.
Money, Power, Respect. . . . . . . .DMX whupped em on it. 24 Hrs to live. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .DMX punished em again. Reservoir dogs?? On Jigga's 'Hard Knock Life' album?? Sauce Money and Jigga chewed em on it. Don't get me wrong, i like Jadakiss. His lyrics are not great but the way he delivers is peerless. Other cats on LOX are asswipes!! |
Re: Top 10 Most Underrated Rappers. by A40(m): 12:53am On Apr 02, 2009 |
~Sauron~:I love that song myself the whole 187 thingy! but still doesn't make them better than Red and Meth although your argument makes sense Snoop and Dre where very good ~Sauron~:Fat Joe is not a legend! Big Pun was good but Redman would decapitate him on any track ~Sauron~:That's your opinion you are entitled to it ~Sauron~:Beanie Sigel trash? I shake my head in pity are you analyzing rap or reggaeton? Gosh have you listened to "Don't Stop" with Snoop? or "Feel it in the Air"? How about "Remember them days" with Eve Sigel's verse the whackest on "What we do"? you must have been listening backwards , no, B. Sige in the third lane Gramps still prayin' workin on my nerves man, Like, "Son you gotta get your soul clean, Before they blow them horns like Coltrane, " But still I cry tears of a hustler Wipe tears from my mother, pull out beers for her brothers, That's above us, make beds for the babies Tuck kids under covers, buy cribs for their mothers Shit I'll probably be wylin' with their fathers Tell Ms. Robert, tell Enijah that I'm ridin' for her father That's like my brother, like same mother different father Any problems dog know I got 'em And still we grind from the bottom Just to make it to the bottom sold crack in the alleyways Still gave back Marcy a Dollar Day Real gangstas make hood holidays They ain't thank us but we still paid homage mang Soul Food Sunday lookin' like Big Momma's mang Tell the gang I never break my promise mang, mang, unnh! Read those lines and tell me what was whack on that verse? ~Sauron~:Fiddy is not even lyrically sound to start with i don't feel his bubblegum rap at all him and Em do not belong to that upper echelon Fiddy sells Em short ~Sauron~:Point of correction their most popular Collabo definitely not their best ~Sauron~:I beg to differ on the first line maybe the 2nd but this is not about DMX this is about Jadakiss and Styles P I don't know about Sheek who can be good sef when he wants to but go listen to Styles P closely that's another under-rated cat are you kidding me? go and listen to "Holiday" on Ruff Ryders Vol 2 pls don't f*#k with SP Tha Ghost Sauce Money ke! even Jigga didnt do too well on that track Jada-kiss Now if I kill you I probably do ten in the box Come down on appeal then I'm killin your pops You feelin The LOX, nigga why you grillin The LOX If this rap shit don't work niggaz still in the spot You bring it to me, I gotta lose your family Gangstas don't die, they get chubby, and move to Miami Shit is deep now dog but it gets deeper Bleep it, the weather's nice and the price is much cheaper I put it on tape, you gon' buy it, I put it in a bag you gon' try it, y'all niggaz can't deny it Lot of cats still tryin to study my last bounce Tell you what, get a beat tape and a half ounce They got me where I can't be without my large gat Teflon long sleeve, and my hardhat Don't matter if I'm openin up, or headline Doin the speed limit or pushin red lines Six months in the county or fed time I'ma be the 'Kiss nigga, until it's bedtime Anything I'm on is a classic, any nigga ever had beef with, son is a bastard Anytime I spit, spit acid, L.O.X. A-40: We are getting somewhere. If i add 'Let Me Ride' and 'Deeeez Nuts'(Chronic album) to the mix, you would be totally convinced. Meth is very good with those collabos. . . . . .He makes Wu-Tang tick, He was glorious when he did 'The What' with Biggie in 94. The collabo he had with Busta Rhymes, 'What's Happenin' will stand toe to toe with any song he did with Redman.
Fat Joe is not bad. . . . . . .U saw his input on Ja Rule's 'New York' He pushed his weight wella but he got marginally raped by Jadakiss tho.
Eve helped that song even though she only dropped the hook. I remember that song because of Eve not because of Beanie Sigel.
On 'What We Do', Freeway was the dopest. He really killed it with his flow. That is another underrated rapper. He deserves some credits. Go and listen to Kanye's 'two words' on college dropout(one of the sickest soundtrack in the history of hip-hop).
Sometimes it's not about the lyrics but how it was despatched. Do u agree Biggie/Eminem woulda made those same lines sound better than Beanie did??
Your opinion.
So which is their best cut?? Rockwilda just fall into ma category of 'annoying' songs. Annoying in me dictionary means good songs that were made too short for comfort. Nas' 'Stillmatic intro', Jigga's 'The Ruler's Back' and Canibus' 'Chaos' are also in the same category. . .Excellent songs that didn't last 3 mins. Shameful! Why do rappers sometimes make the best soundtrack on their album so short??
I know but DMX still whupped em on both tracks. Money Power Respect was the first time i heard X's voice on any song and i was like who is this cat?? Then he featured on Mase's 'Take Whatz Yours' and '24 hours To Live' where he disgraced the whole LOX as a unit. StylesP is a witless apprentice. His best contribution to hiphop was 'Go Head' on Ruff Ryders Volume 2 album.
I have told you there's more to these lyrics than the way it was written. 2 different cats would ride on these lyrics and one would sound like Gandhi and the other would shrill like Eedris. That is the advantage Jadakiss has got. He's got this unique voice that lets him ride on anything he touches. He is by far the most talented LOX member. He murdered DMX and Eve on 'We're Back'(Grand Champ album). |
Re: Top 10 Most Underrated Rappers. by Bamsyle(m): 10:54am On Apr 02, 2009 |
~Sauron~: Of course the Dr Dre/Snoop chemistry was great but they can't even touch Tical and Doc with a 5000m pole . . . as individual acts, Snoop and Dre are great . . . that individual greatness was carried over into their combo . . . nutin more . . . you can't compare the chemistry between Tical and Doc with these guys . . . Red and Meth ain't as good individually as they are as a duo . . . it's like the two were destined to be together . . . I daresay the success of the Dre/Snoop combo is largely based on Dr Dre's ability to blend well with any MC . . . are you forgetting his combo with LL Cool J on "Zoom", with 2pac on "California Love" and with Eminem on "Say What You Say", "Guilty Conscience", "Forgot About Dre" . . . Great Snakes . . . "Deep Cover", "F**k With Dre Day", "Still D.R.E", "Next Episode", "Nuthin' But a 'G' Thang", "Let Me Ride" can't mess with anythang from the stables of Tical and Funk Doc. Jeez, you can compare Dre/Snoop chemistry with Warren G/Nate Dogg (though Nate ain't a rapper) . . . not with Red/Meth . . . those are outta this world . . . Blackout album?? Maybe 3-4 songs are worth listening to. . . . Blackout! . . .?? That's one of the best albums from any rap duo . . . with joints like "Y.O.U", "Da Rockwilder", "Tear It Off", "Cereal Killer", "Mic Cheka", and "How High Remix" . . . Go listen to it again. Fiddy and Em are siamese twins. U can't take it from the 2 cats. Eminem is superb . . . Fiddy is trash . . . someone's gotta tell Em that Fiddy spoils his show when featured . . . I remember Em's "Love Me" . . . I was enjoying Obie and Em's verses until Fiddy came along and just spoiled my mood . . . he spat his usual hogwash - messin' around with his stupid jabs . . . From "You Don't Know" to "Peep Show", etc . . . 50 keeps spoiling the show when he makes appearances with Em. Go and cop 'Glamour life' on Big Pun's debut album. Of the fatsos, only Biggie stands out unchallenged . . . Big Pun comes next - from afar . . . but Red/Meth still eat him raw . . . Fat Joe Nah . . . not in that league . . . hey, where's Heavy D . . . . . . i like Jadakiss. His lyrics are not great but the way he delivers is peerless. Other cats on LOX are asswipes!! Of course Jadakiss is a giant . . . LOX . . . how can you describe the duo of Styles P and Sheek as such . . . that group's got a nice bond . . . "Last Day" with Biggie, "We'll Always Love Big Poppa" (tribute to Biggie), "It's All About The Benjamins" . . . individually, they still deliver - especially Jada and Styles. @A-40 Spot on . . . we're on tha same page. |

Bamsyle: I coulda said the same thing about Methodman's versatility. He is good with everyone. Anything goes for him. Where would you put Meth's collabo with Busta Rhymes on 'Whats Happening' with the cuts he made with Redman?? Lemme flip the script. . . . . . .Where does Redman's duet with Busta, 'Da Goodness' stand with the Meth/Red collabo?? These artistes are gold in a unit but could be irritating individually. Although, i recomend '4:21 The Day After. . . .' Meth ripped it on that album.
Blasphemy!!!! Dogg Pound?? Mobb Deep(Early days).
Listen to 'Encore' featuring Em, Dre and Fiddy. Try 'The Re-Up' too. 50 tempers em lyrics so em songs can make the airwaves. U gotta think commercially. Reasons 50 is a good businessman.
Pun's untimely death spoilt things. The Fat latino had skills in him, i swear. Never knew until the last quarter of 08 when i revisited his album. He can SPIT.
I rate Jada!!! He was born to deliver rap lines. His lyrics ain't too powerful but the way he spits em is peerless. |

~Sauron~:We are getting nowhere i love Snoop and Dre and i would be the first to admit their greatness I like Meth but you have to agree Redman definitely has ear-catching flow have you heard "Rush da Security"? ~Sauron~:I give it to the chubby muchacho he actually is rapping better than Fiddy the only problem is he still isn't moving units ~Sauron~:Eve did good but Beanie massacred that track as well i implore you to go and listen to Don't Stop with Snoop the first verse alone would convert you to a Sigel fan he is not into all that commercial shit which is why he hasn't been given his dues he is too street to bother go and listen to "Momma Loves Me" and hear what Jigga said about Beans ~Sauron~:On Beanie's day Freeway or Memphis Bleek cannot shine his shoes you need to listen to them old Rocafella cuts a little more closely and then look for all three joints with him Jigga and Scarface "This can't be life","Somehow Someway" on Blueprint 2 and "Guess who's back" that Philly cat can rhyme abeg Freeway is aight but he knows his State Property oga trust me I have listened to Biggie and Eminem deliver poorly on songs besides i am yet to see Eminem rhyme on a Just Blaze beat so that's not a given ~Sauron~:There are a lot i can't just pin it on just one.Tear Da Roof off,How High,Y.O.U,Blackout ~Sauron~:DMX would definitely have caught your attention with his raspy voice on 24 Hours to Live but he did not murder The LOX ~Sauron~:Is that your style of agreeing that Jadakiss's verse was hotter? |
Re: Top 10 Most Underrated Rappers. by baslone: 8:01am On Apr 03, 2009 |
~Sauron~: , I probably bought wrong blackout album!!! Bleek is not underrated, that's the best he can offer. He's just an average rapper though I still think he is better than Freeway. Beanie is better than both of them. |
Re: Top 10 Most Underrated Rappers. by Bamsyle(m): 10:34am On Apr 03, 2009 |
~Sauron~: Meth Nah . . . you can't compare Dre's malleability with that of Meth . . . Dre just blends with any good rapper . . . he raps like he's in a relay-race and gotta pass the baton to someone else . . . go listen to all his solo efforts . . . apart from "The Watcher" (I prefer it to "The Watcher II", you can't compare 'em with his collabos with Eminem, LL Cool J, Snoop Dogg, etc . . . Dre usually raps like he's laying a general foundation that any good rapper can build on . . . Meth on the other hand brings the shaolin rap style . . . the signature style of Wu-Tang . . . fit to be married only to Redman who delivers rap lines akin to kick-boxing . . . Meth with the smooth, gliding, fluid, deep and velvety delivery . . . Red with the high-tempo, mad-tempered, fast and furious delivery . . . it's like a destined combo, the high and the low ends of Hip Hop . . . I'll compare 'em to the Chakademus/Pliers and the Born J'americans combo . . . they were just born to be together. Thundering sandstorms in a million blazing volcanoes . . . "What's Happening" was good . . . but very mediocre when compared with what the Red/Meth intercourse delivered . . . Heavens, if you have noticed, Busta just sounds like a coarse and aggressive version of Meth . . . and when the 2 collab, expect nothing out of the ordinary . . . the tempo of "What's Happening" was the same all through its duration . . . you can imagine what Red woulda done to that track . . . on their joints, I love it when Meth kicks the first verse (with that mellow grind) and Red comes next to pump up the darn rhythm . . . "Tear It Off" was a rollercoaster ride . . . mellow to mad, then mellow, and mad again . . . low, high, low, high again . . . got it The rhythm/tempo just keeps changing . . . and like a fast-paced, dynamic action movie, you gotta move up with it . . . Redman sonned Busta badly in "Da Goodness" . . . Busta was way too wack on that track . . . you can imagine a remix with Methodman . . . this time with 4 turbo-charged verses . . . another pointer to the fact that these 2 are made for each other. Blasphemy!!!! Dogg Pound?? Mobb Deep(Early days). The duo of Kurupt and Daz is awesome . . . but which of their albums can you compare to Blackout! Dogg Food Nah . . . go back and listen to 2pac's "Got My Mind Made Up" . . . skip Pac's verse and marry Daz's verse with Kurupt's . . . compare 'em with Tical/Funk Doc's verses and give me a feedback . . . Pac must have a reason for lettin' Red and Meth take tha last 2 verses . . . back to back (same wasn't the case with Daz/Kurupt) . . . Mobb Deep That's not even close to the product of a Snoop/Dre affair. Listen to 'Encore' featuring Em, Dre and Fiddy. Try 'The Re-Up' too. Nah fam . . . Em even brings the commerciality to the table than Fiddy does . . . Fiddy is darn too watered down . . . "Encore"?? It was a Dre/Em affair . . . the amazing way Dre and Em flipped 'em verses readily attests to what I've been saying since . . . "The Re-Up"?? An Em affair . . . Fiddy wasn't on both radars . . . Em should just stop at Dre . . . their chemistry is great . . . Fiddy He should sing the darn hook and shut up!!! Pun's untimely death spoilt things. The Fat latino had skills in him, i swear. Of course I agree . . . but rating a Big Pun/Fat Joe bond above a Red/Meth tango is unacceptable . . . it doesn't even come close. I rate Jada!!! He was born to deliver rap lines. I do too . . . and for starters I don't agree that DMX murked the LOX in "24 Hours To Live" . . . Jadakiss' verse was the very best on that joint, quote me anywhere . . . of course he's ahead of Styles P and Sheek . . . but those two (especially Styles) ain't walk-overs too. |
Re: Top 10 Most Underrated Rappers. by Ibime(m): 10:58am On Apr 03, 2009 |
Bamsyle: Don't be silly. A Pun/Fat Joe combination is better that Red/Meth. Mobb Deep is a wack combo and been wack since shook ones. Daz and Kurupt is a sick combo. Kurupts second album is still one of the greatest albums of all time. The best combos are Ruck and Rock of Heltah Skeltah, Talib and Mos of Blackstar, Styles and Jada of Lox and Andre and Big Boi of Outkast. @ Topic, (1.) Saigon (2.) Crooked I (3.) Joe Budden (4.) Jadakiss (5.) Ludacris (6.) Slick Rick (7.) Masta Ace (8.) Andre 3000 (9.) Tash of the Likwit Crew (10.) Wordsworth |
Re: Top 10 Most Underrated Rappers. by Bamsyle(m): 11:27am On Apr 03, 2009 |
Ibime: You must be going cuckoo . . . Big Pun and Fat Joe are good rappers . . . Big Pun being the better of the two . . . IMO they sound better solo . . . you can't compare the duo to that of Red/Meth . . . these 2 are divinely orchestrated to be twins . . . Tut Tut . . . do you listen to music through your skin pores . . . we're on a Snoop/Dre, Red/Meth, Eminem/Dre wavelength and you bring in Andre and Big Boi, Ruck and Rock . . . not saying they ain't good but can you compare 'em to the aforelisted |
Re: Top 10 Most Underrated Rappers. by Ibime(m): 12:11pm On Apr 03, 2009 |
Bamsyle: hehehehehehe. . . . . you must be the one going cockadoodledo. . . We are talking of rappers, you are mentioning Dre. Abegi make we hear word. His combos are good, but he has no lyrical input into any of em. |
Re: Top 10 Most Underrated Rappers. by Bamsyle(m): 12:21pm On Apr 03, 2009 |
Twisted heretic!!! If you tell me Dre's got more clout as a producer than a rapper, I'll easily agree . . . but Dre not a rapper That's bell-bottomed balderdash . . . no lyrical input This is becoming grotesque . . . Have you listened to "The Watcher"?? Man, that's like reading "The Proverbs" in the Bible . . . I'll not mention other great joints from Dre. |
