I think d best option here is to visit the agent, and he should open ur portal in ur presence and when u confirm it, then u will transfer his money to him. But if its just to send u d letter, Nnnnaahhhh no gree for that one, anybody can get d letter from anywhere.

Good day everyone. Please I need advice on what to do. My agent applied for Canadian visit visa for me early this year. Went for biometrics in February. During this waiting period, there was minimal or no communication at all with the said agent up until yesterday.
He said my visa approval is out that I should pay his balance service charge, before releasing the letter to me then go to the embassy for passport submission.
I reminded him of our initial agreement which was seeing my stamped passport before final payment. He agreed to send the approval letter to me only on the condition that he will blur some parts. I'm thinking the blurred part will be my application number which I don't have access to.
Please what do I do because I don't have access to my portal to see my status. What if the agent is trying to scam me

Hello everyone,

I applied for a Canada visit visa back in March with the intention of visiting my wife who is now studying in Canada. During this period, the visitor visa processing time from Nigeria on the IRCC page was 164 days which came to about early-mid September for a visa decision. At the time, I already had a U.S. visa appointment slated for April, and I knew that the Canada visa process is usually smoother and quicker with a valid U.S. visa but I chose to apply in March anyway because I truly wasn’t sure I would be granted the U.S. visa, and I didn’t want to delay my Canada visa application further.

Well, I was later granted the U.S. visa in April, nearly a month after submitting my Canada visa application, and til date, there has been no response from them (now well past the 164 day period). I submitted a web form not long after securing my U.S. visa to inform IRCC of the update in my status, but still no luck.

Has anyone else experienced similar delays lately, and do you suggest I reach out to IRCC for updates and/or to inform them of my valid U.S. visa again?

Thanks so much.

I think this situation has been properly answered by someone here.

Do a webform update to them about your new USA visa and your passport and NIN.

These should speed up your processing under CAN Plus if you applied alone.

Have you tried contacting the support team? Or perhaps try clearing out your browser history/cache/cookies and try again. Maybe even use a different browser altogether.

Dear JUSTWISE, please I recommend closing this thread or making a slight adjustment.

The first page of this thread lacks essential information. It will be difficult for newcomers to find anything useful here, as there are no clear details provided.

Reviewing other travel threads, there are essential URLs that help guide visitors, but this thread does not include any such resources.

The first page should feature the essential URL for applications, detailed information regarding the required documents, important dos and don'ts, as well as personal experiences related to visa applications.

Much of the information shared in this thread from 2015 is now obsolete and no longer relevant. I recommend creating a new thread with updated information.

Thank you

Hi fam,
Good evening, all.
I need your advice on a matter that's been on my mind.
Between a diploma in youth & Childcare and early childhood education, which of these two has a high job prospect/PR in Canada or is in high demand?

I am currently in my first year in early childhood education. And i am considering switching to youth & Childcare in my second year.

My focus is one that I can get a quick full-time job and fast PR.

What do you guys think?

Kindly advise

Good evening, Nairaland. Please, I need your expertise on an issue I am having.

I am set to travel to Nigeria in November for a week (something very important), My passport validity is going to be 4 months by the time I plan on returning. Given that canada has a 6 months validity on passport. But my work permit is set to expire next year, so i still have a valid visa. The problem is with the passport. How do I go about this?

1. If I decide to do passport renewal in Nigeria. Will my new passport be linked to the old one? Also, would my visa validity in the old one still stand.

2. For the passport, I plan on also doing a name change. Would that still affect my visa and old passport?

3. I already booked my flight before realizing the whole walaha. Will the airline allow me use my return ticket with a change of name on my passport?

4. Some people said that since I have a valid work permit till next year March, that it doesn't matter. I can still enter Canada with less than 6 months passport validity. How true is this please??

Thank you guys as I await a response.

Please treat as urgent.

Work Permit does not give you access to enter a country from border, it only gives you temporary status when inside the country. You would always need a TRV to enter Canada via any border.

Hence, ensure you request for your new Nigerian passport when you leave Canada to Nigeria. Ensure you have the new passport before you return back to Canafa and attach it with the old passport where your Canada TRV is stamped, both should suffice for your return to Canada.

However, ensure to reapply for a new TRV later on the new passport so you can discard the old one finally.

Hi

My mum has a valid USA visa and visited Canada this year.

I plan on renewing her visa but want to make it a group application with I and my sister included. Will her CAN+ status speed up the application process?

PS: I have a sister in Canada who will be inviting us.

Her application(can+ status) will not speed up your application, but your application will push hers to normal processing time as group application. It is still worth applying and proving your home ties. I wish you good luck

Good day everyone
I just want to give an update. I was advised here to go see the agent at his office, so he will log into my portal in my presence. When I contacted him, he told me he was out of the country. (I have always communicated with him via WhatsApp only) except his office. Pls note that he was recommended by my uncle. So I have never meant him.
He said he will send me the letter, but to avoid me double crossing him so he could get his balance money, he will render the document unless for me, so I won't be able to make a copy to finish the process.
From research, submission of passport at the visa office is not a guarantee that your passport will be stamped. And the agent is concern about how to get his balance.

I think you should use wisdom, since your uncle was the one that recommended him, just call him and calm him down, this agents can be something else, I also used an agent, since April 5th, I haven't heard anything from my agent....

He should open your page on his system and do video call with you... At least you should see with your korokoro eyes... If his too busy for that, he should do a video when he enter the website, login your details and open your page.. All this should be captured in the video with him talking over clip.... So that no editing would be allowed ooo.. Life no suppose hard na.. He collected down payment when hin no see you, now to show evidence hin they give story.

Or better still

Order for the note sharp, although it will talk abt 3 to 4 weeks before you get your reply.. But at least you mind go done come down..
