I can assure you that Chimamanda has been one of the few bright spots in Nigeria's intellectual circles. Then again how would you know if seldom look at things without a jaundiced perspective.

people like her and Soyinka just blow English. I can say Achebe changed African literature because he was the first to write about africa in a context that wasn't overtly romanticized to compensate for the negative perceptions, or overtly negative. Who else added anything new except English and their opinion? I don't care about circles; I care about contribution. Everywhere outside of Nigeria people earn distinction by contributing something new
