- Islamic state of West Africa Province (ISWAP) is appointing new battlefield commanders to replace fighters and commanders eliminated by aerial strikes from the Nigerian military and Multinational Joint Task Force troops in the Lake Chad Basin and Northern BORNO. Sources with knowledge of the group's structure have revealed that Malam Ali Hussaini - a young boy estimated to be between the age of 30-35 years old was appointed to replace Malam Sa'ad as the new land militant commander of the LCB. Malam Ali Hussaini's was appointed amidst wild celebrations as ISWAP jihadist fighters fired shots in the air to celebrate the appointment of new Commanders at a location given as Tudun Wulgo. The same source confirmed that Boko Haram ISWAP units are restrategizing recruitment plans to recover from its depleted forces after successful ground and aerial strikes eliminated a huge proportion of its core battlefield leadership structure. As recently as October 10, 2020, one ISWAP leader named by sources as Goni Maina, was spotted with his entourage comprising of; Mallam Abubakar, Dan Buduma and others leaving from a location given as Kwatan Sabon Tumbu and heading towards northern Abadam. The mission was described as meeting with ISWAP Shura Council and other ISWAP leaders occupying locations given as Kuranawa and Kayowa to deliver huge sums of cash funds. Sources believe the cash estimated to be in millions of mixed currency including Naira, US Dollars and Euros were generated from various sources, including ransom from kidnapping, zakkat, jiziya as well as road and other access taxes. It is believed that these funds will be used by ISWAP leadership to purchase more arms and ammunition, pay new and existing fighters, entice new recruitments and hiring of foot soldiers to defend their locations (Daula) against all marked enemies. Sources have revealed that ISWAP units continue to purchase arms and ammunition with cash ( from Tunbum Kurnawa) from Libya dealers via porous borders in the Sahel and Lake Chad basin states. ISWAP Ideology: To boost the twisted ideology of its members and supporters, ISWAP has in recent times intensified recitation of the Holy Quran in locations around the Daula. This is also part of its spiritual efforts to seek divine intervention from the recent battlefield and natural disaster (cholera & floods) incidents in their hideouts. Recommendations : New appointments of young and relatively inexperienced commanders further demonstrate ISWAP's recent decline in leadership structure, particularly with regards to unit commanders. A perfect operational reason to sustain the ongoing coordination of ground and aerial strikes by the Nigerian Army and MNJTF troops. Ground assessment indicates a need to extend aerial and ground coordinated strikes to some identified ISWAP jihadist camps given as Kayowa - known to be a key ISWAP armoury and Kurnawa, believed to be a current base for key ISWAP leadership. Other areas of interest for continued surveillance include Tumbun Dila, Tumbun Fulani and Bera. Information disseminated and acted upon remains the bedrock of effective asymmetric warfare - it is the people's War to win. 2 Likes 1 Share |

BabaOwen: That's shameless hypocritical double-standard bigotry from the USA. Please tell me the human rights record of Egypt and Saudi Arabia. We are angels compared to those countries. It is simply the USA doesn't rate us and we have lost our standing on the international stage. We are the Giant of Africa with MOUTH. 3 Likes |

komekn: Egypt and Saudi have strategic importance to the USA in the middle East. That is why they are providing military aid for them. They use the word "National security" to overrule their Leahy law concerning those two countries. Also, In the past, Nigeria don't always buy military stuff from USA sha, so we are not much of partners in that aspect in a long time now. Most if our major Military acquisition especially jets have always come from Europe and Russia. I think this Tucano deal will be our first major purchase from USA. So we don't have much history with them. 5 Likes 1 Share |

demolition: You're missing a lot ! SWAT has been already in existence before now, they are to be replace the useless SARS or FSARS we have. Trust me this guys are professional and not miscreants like the SARs, only that there unit outfit is not enough, just like the police IRS those guys are doing a nice job, years back some IRS officers helped me with my flat tires I'm the middle of night in Abuja and I was so much surprised. My only fear is that they wouldn't turn bad like the SARS in few years time. 9 Likes 1 Share

NAF COMMENCES ADVANCED FORENSIC, CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION COURSE FOR AIR PROVOST PERSONNEL IN LAGOS In furtherance of its continued efforts to effectively employ scientific approach to crime fighting, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has commenced a 4-week Advanced Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) Course for its Air Provost (AP) personnel at the 057 Provost Investigation Group (057 PIG), Ikeja, Lagos. The Advanced CSI Course, which is aimed at building the capacity and knowledge of the AP personnel in order to fast-track scientific collation and accurate analysis of evidence in legal proceedings, began on 28 September 2020. The participants, which comprise 4 officers and 11 airmen/airwomen, are expected to undertake series of practical CSI sessions, the first of which was conducted yesterday, 13 October 2020, under the watchful eyes of 5 external resource persons and 4 British-trained NAF Instructors. It would be recalled that, as part of efforts by the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, to reposition the Service into a highly professional force, the NAF had, on 24 September 2018, commissioned the newly remodeled and equipped Forensic Crime Laboratory as well as a befitting Headquarters Building at 057 PIG to ensure a conducive environment for the NAF Directorate of Air Provost to effectively and efficiently carry out criminal investigations as well as train its personnel.
