A botched operation is different from an overrun base.
It wasn’t a botched operation.
The comms failed.
As is the case in SF ops when they have to be bailed, The 2 ,Chinooks sent to extricate them had no gunship escorts they were shot down by a rag tag group of Taliban with RPGs ( sound familiar?)
When thing go wrong they can go spectacularly wrong even for some of the World’s Best SF.
We just don’t get to see it that often
Here you are already defending another Country’s SF but Rubbishing Nigeria’s
You probably will defend the debacle that Russia’s SF did at a day care too .

Same way we have been BASTARDIZING THE WORD SPECIAL FORCES.

Imagine telling a Sayeret Matkal of Israel.
Or a British Special Air Service (SAS)
Or a Navy Seals, USA that less than a dozen ragtag Almajiri boko boys with just AK47 and a couple of RPGs over run a Nigeria Special Force base comprise of several gun trucks, NAVY SBS in Baga
They'd laugh and tell you its part of the job

Edit:
The same Baga? Must we add lies to make things believable abeg

I find it ridiculous to compare the ordeal of four (4) SEALS far from base to the case of overrunning of a base with SFs and gun trucks by Boko Haram.

You are very right. Things do go wrong. So, Nigerian special forces went out in enemy territory with gun trucks and other equipment and established a base. And what happened? They were surprised and near annihilated. How do you get surprised deep in enemy territory and in your own base and after all that has happened since this war begun? How was nothing learned from all the bases that were previously overrun? The answer is not incompetence and carelessness, but that things do go wrong. So, you are very right.

By the way, when things go wrong for the special forces of other countries what do these forces do? They pray for death and shit themselves or do they call for help and get it quickly and efficiently? When our special forces or normal forces get in trouble what do they do? When they call for help do they get it in this century or the next?

Please, comparing what happened in Afghanistan where 5-7 SEALS had their mission compromised, called for extraction and had to battle a determined and experienced foe with what happened in Nigeria where a big band of special forces waltzed into enemy territory like they were going to a party and paid for it makes absolutely no sense. Things do go wrong, but here it is mostly due to lack of caution and pure incompetence.

Guy the way this protest is going, trust me, you don't want to be on the government's side...u better choose the path of ur fellow youth

This protest is bigger than just ending SARS...
1) it's also a way of improving police structure, payment and welfare...
2) If not for this protest, Govt wouldn't have called ASUU for meeting (desperate meeting oo)
3) this protest has helped us to see how wicked our leaders and some police officers (especially SARS are....Try and listen to the interview of that former commander of SARS)
4) It has shown that if we the youths are united, we can change the government for good..

If am not mistaken..this happened on a mountain top...where SEALS where asked to set up OP...the C130 that ran surveillance didn't see Taliban fighters Hidden in caves...two Chinooks were destroyed... 2 Rangers squad came in as back up, they lost some good men that Day (both seals and Rangers)

The special anti robbery squad as outlived it's usefulness thereby leading to by missuse by operatives.
The ploriferation of the Special anti robbery squad was a fire brigade approach adopted during the Goodluck Jonathan administration, it has served its purpose and should be disbanded
What concerns an anti robbery squad with laptops, Iphones and cybercrimes, obviously the unit has been turned into a business outfit. That is bullshit and it would not stand

19 Died May their Souls rest in perfect peace
The Laziness just to read and Comprehend continues.
Some even said I compared the Baga operation of FOB to the US Navy Seals
Josh actually Highlighted what I said
The operation became botched because their communication equipment failed Pure and Simple.
The Rescue operation failed because the enemy was not spotted and Two Chinooks against better judgement took off without Gunship escorts.
I know it would absolutely kill some of you to criticize another Country .
Don’t worry they no go deny your visa now.
Baga got overrun SFs got killed and the Naval Commander ( Who by the way wasn’t SBS) was killed.
See how simple that is ?

The other soldiers that made the body count were back up, in any way u look at it.... It doesn't change the fact that.
1) they were not sent to set up an fob. And even hold it...
2( the no. of men on ground were less than 10
3. They had no fire support (trucks)...
How can u compare the absence of this to Nigeria SF iperation were they were sent to
1. Create and hold an FOB.
2.Nuetralize all surrounding enemies.
3. More than 50 men were on site.
4.They had fire support (Gun trucks)
And the other additional US SF that died were an evacuation force, they never even landed before they were killed.

Good, I love this part ...
Were this Seals sent to hold a base...
Were the Seals on ground up to 10
Did have fire support..
Less than 10 men were sent to execute a mission, mission went South, and they start to run around.how does this compare to holding a base.

More than 50 men when Baga was overrun? Or you meant just Navy personnel cool

I'm still wondering how dudes are comparing a base that had over 600 military personnel being dislodged with the Afghanistan issue
