Is it legal in Nigeria to publish people's bank details?
I've also noticed your police parading suspects they've arrested before the media, before they've appeared in court.

Here in SA both these things are illegal.

That document is supposed to be an internal memo, not a document meant to be published though

It's illegal In Nigeria too. But Nigeria is a lawless country.

Also people don't press charges against those organisations. If the Nigerian police are getting sued by individuals every day and they are paying out large sums in damages, every now and then, I think they would have stopped it.

It was not published, if you look closely, it was classed 'restricted', some elements leaked it out
And the less said about the police, the better.

The ISWAP fighters went away with some aid workers who refused to came out of their houses, they gave children money to show them NGOs workers houses , they assembled them all together, the Amir who lead the attack was speaking in French with his translator who speaks kanuri. The Amir who later ask if the people will follow them, some accept to follow them while others refuse, the refusal of some aid workers made the Amir to go away with some. Some of the confirm aid workers that where taken info still sketchy as no official report for their missing. https:///mE3jYmE20f

MAIDEN OPERATIONAL VISIT: CAS INSPECTS ONGOING PROJECTS IN KAINJI, GOMBE SAYS LOCATIONS READY TO RECEIVE SUPER TUCANO, UAVs ON SCHEDULE The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Vice Marshal (AVM) Oladayo Amao, has commended the pace of work on ongoing infrastructural development projects at the 407 Air Combat Training Group (407 ACTG), Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Base Kainji, Niger State, which are being emplaced to accommodate the 12 x A-29 Super Tucano aircraft when they arrive Nigeria. The CAS equally expressed some degree of satisfaction with the progress of work on ongoing projects at the 109 Combat Reconnaissance Group (109 CRG, formerly known as 203 CRG) NAF Gombe, which is to serve as the Base for the Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicles (UCAVs) ordered by the Federal Government from China. AVM Amao made these known today, 3 March 2021, while on his maiden operational visit to the NAF Bases in Kainji and Gombe. Speaking after the inspection/assessment tour of projects in Kainji, which include the ongoing construction of 3 blocks of 10 single-bedroom Single Officers’ Quarters (SOQ), one block of 6 x three-bedroom Married Officers’ Quarters (MOQ) as well as a block of 30 x single-bedroom Transit Accommodation for Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs), AVM Amao expressed delight at the commendable pace of work. The CAS, who also inspected work on the arming bays, apron and other projects being executed by contractors assigned by the United States Government, stated that it was very clear that all was being done to ensure that virtually all the infrastructure required to accommodate the Super Tucano aircraft would be in place prior to their arrival by the middle of 2021. Before departing Kainji, the CAS held an interactive session with the officers, airmen and airwomen, where he urged them to remain disciplined and unwavering in their commitment to duty. He also advised them to always be security conscious whilst contributing their quota towards ensuring that the NAF ‘enhances and sustains critical airpower capabilities required for joint force employment in pursuit of national security imperatives. The CAS also entertained questions and received feedback as well as suggestions from the personnel on how to move the Service forward for more effective and efficient service delivery. In Gombe, the CAS was received on arrival by the Deputy Governor of the State, Dr Manasseh Daniel Jatau, and the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, amongst other State Government Officials; after which he proceeded to inspect ongoing infrastructural development at 109 CRG, including the Taxiways, Apron, Aircraft Shelters, Bulk Fuel Installation (BFI), Ammunition Dump, Access Roads as well as Office and Residential Accommodations. Speaking after the inspection of the facilities, the CAS, while thanking the Gombe State Government for not only allocating the 230 Hectares and providing other forms of support towards the speedy establishment of 109 CRG, noted that much still needed to be done to make the Base ready to receive the UCAVs, which he said would soon be arriving the Country. He remarked that, aside the currently completed and other ongoing projects, there was need for the NAF and Gombe State Government to jointly work towards connecting the Base to the national grid whilst also commencing work on the construction of the access road to the Base. In his remarks, the Gombe State Deputy Governor, Dr Manasseh Jatau, expressed extreme delight at the speed at which the NAF was developing facilities at NAF Base Gombe, remarking that it was nothing short of extraordinary. He equally expressed appreciation to the NAF for the medical outreach conducted for host communities in the Akko-Gona Emirate area of the State in October 2020, barely 2 months after the establishment and groundbreaking ceremony of the NAF Unit. He noted that the outreach benefitted members of the affected communities immensely and pledged that the State Government, on its part, would continue to do its best to support the NAF towards the ultimate goal of improving security in the State and indeed the entire North East. The CAS, who was accompanied on the visit by some Branch Chiefs and Directors from Headquarters NAF, has returned to Abuja. ABUJA, Nigeria – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers recently established a permanent presence on the ground in Africa to oversee key U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) projects here. Europe District manages construction in both Europe and Africa and recently relocated a project engineer to Nigeria on a permanent basis to primarily support the construction of new facilities for the A-29 Super Tucano wing at Kainji Airbase. Project Engineer Adewale Adelakun began setting up his office in November 2020 and is now fully in place. “To be there on the continent is a huge step forward in order to deliver high quality construction to our stakeholders,” Adelakun said. While Europe District has supported AFRICOM missions on the continent for years, this move to establish a permanent presence is an important step as the mission’s support and partnership with the Nigerian military grows and includes AFRICOM’s work to promote regional security, stability and prosperity. “We recognize the growing significance our work in Africa has on achieving our national security goals,” said Brig. Gen. Thomas Tickner, USACE North Atlantic Division Commander. “Having a permanent presence on the continent allows us to better leverage our capabilities to support AFRICOM's and the State Department's desired objectives by building partner capacity and sustaining host nation relationships.” Now with the consolidation of U.S. Army Europe and U.S. Army Africa into one command, the placement of a Europe District employee in Africa is more important than ever. “Not only will this move benefit our A-29 project in Nigeria, but it will facilitate efforts on dozens of smaller military and humanitarian projects like schools, clinics, training ranges and more that we deliver to our partners on the continent,” said Europe District Commander Col. Patrick Dagon. Now stationed in Nigeria, Adelakun directly supports the A-29 Super Tucano project, delivering a light attack, combat and reconnaissance aircraft storage facility for the Nigerian Air Force (NAF). The project consists of a $36.1 million contract for facilities to support a dozen A-29 aircraft. The work involves the construction of a new airfield hot cargo pad, perimeter and security fencing, munitions assembly and storage, small arms storage, a flight annex wing building for simulator training, airfield lights, and various airfield apron, parking, hangar and entry control point enhancements. The A-29 project is one of several Europe District has in Africa. While Adelakun is a “forward-deployed” member of the A-29 Project Delivery Team, he is part of a lager Europe District team that oversees construction in Africa in support of various other strategic initiatives, including Humanitarian Assistance, Foreign Military Sales, Counter Narcotics and Trafficking, Building Partnership Capacity, Global Peacekeeping Operations Initiative and more. Current projects under construction within these programs include new primary and secondary schools in Niger, Senegal Benin, Togo and the Nyanga Province that will provide a safe educational environment for thousands of children living in extremely remote areas. Also included is a key boat ramp in Benin that will aid Beninese authorities in the fight against illicit trafficking of narcotics, and multiple vehicle maintenance facilities in Senegal and Chad. Overall, Europe District has nearly 20 active humanitarian assistance construction projects Europe and Africa worth more than $9 million in 10 different countries. Dozens more similar projects are in the planning and scoping phases.

JUST IN: Boko Haram Terrorists Free Borno Pastor Bulus On Expiration Of Seven-Deadline Given To Him.,,,,,,Yakuru was freed on Wednesday and was conveyed by operatives of the Department of State Services around 6.15pm today.

The Boko Haram terrorists have freed Pastor Bulus Yikura who was abducted on December 24, 2020, and was given a seven-day deadline last week to be killed.

Yakuru was freed on Wednesday and was conveyed by operatives of the Department of State Services around 6.15pm and sighted by a Premium Times reporter.

On Wednesday, when he was asked to speak about his freedom, Mr Bulus kept repeating, “I thank God, I thank God.”

SaharaReporters had on Sunday reported that the Chibok community in Borno State including residents, family and church members of the pastor contributed money as a ransom to meet Boko Haram factional leader, Abubakar Shekau, to secure the life of the pastor.

Top elders in Chibok had confirmed to SaharaReporters that Pastor Bulus was married with three children, and his wife was depressed and desperately hoping her husband was not killed by the Boko Haram terrorists.

Last Wednesday, the pastor had cried out from a video sent by the Boko Haram to President Muhammadu Buhari, the Borno State government, and the Christian Association of Nigeria from the terrorists’ den, begging that he had been given one week to live.

Bulus had said he was in pain and would like to be reunited with his family members, church and relatives.

The Boko Haram struck Pemi village in Borno, only about 20 kilometres from Chibok, on December 24, 2020, during which the pastor was taken away.

A Chibok top community elder told SaharaReporters that some money had been raised by all of the stakeholders as a ransom, and they were planning to meet Shekau’s men to deliver it in exchange for Bulus' life.

“Today is the last day I will have the opportunity to call on you in your capacity as my parents and relatives in the country. Anyone who has the intention should help and save me. Please release me from this pain,” Bulus had stated in the video released by Boko Haram last Wednesday.

One person has been killed in a clash between security operatives and some youths in Jangebe, Zamfara state.

The youths were said to have staged a protest when Zamfara government officials came to the town to reunite the abducted schoolgirls with their parents.

Suspected bandits had attacked the Government Girls Secondary School, Jangebe on February 26 and kidnapped 279 schoolgirls.

The girls were later released after a few days in captivity.

Residents who spoke with TheCable said the youths expressed their anger with the government and protested kidnappings and killings in the state.

Violence broke out when the youths were prevented from getting through to the government officials.

“The youths were very angry and wanted to show these to the officials so they can inform the governor,” one of the residents said.

Things got out of hand when one of the security agents shot at the youths. One of the youths died, and two others sustained injury.”

This thread has become a place for tragicomedy. My dear country Nigeria, I wonder when we will get things right. Lives are been lost every day and the ordinary man as a soldier is been used as fodder to sustain these fat pot bellied generals and politicians. The problem affecting the Nigerian military is systemic, it includes the whole nation. I expected that after many years of fighting an enemy, lessons are learnt and solutions proffered. If this was a serious country, the doctrine of the military would've been changed to fighting insurgency and relevant equipment provided, but no, no, no, na my country be dis, people dey cash out and they won't speak truth to authority. The foundation for this rot we are seeing was laid down from the middle 80's by past military and successive govts. The love for the military was not to serve but to be military govs and ADC's. Most of the command and general staff of the military since this insurgency started are of the 80's intake. We need a stop gap and it must be drastic for both the officer corps and the enlisted.
