I have come to the very sad conclusions that, majority of Nigerian citizens are worse than their leaders. Maybe not so worse, but a true reflection of our leaders.

When our leaders do evil, that even satan (the condemned one) often try hard to compete with, we justify the evil and even commend it.

What that means is that, if given the opportunity, majority of us will do the same or worse.

If given the chance, majority of us will create greater poverty in this country than we currently experience as the poverty capital of the world.

If given the opportunity, we would act with greater impunity and tyranny. We will kill as much people as we desire and bring as much hardship on our people.

If in the position of slight advantage, we will oppress the weak, downgrade the poor and deny everyone of what is rightfully theirs.

This is the reality we have been shying away from over the years. We do not want to believe that we are all part of the problem, but indeed, we are a reflection of our problems.

Why are we like this?

So much religion and so much evil
So much prayers and so much hate
So much spirituality and so much inhumanity

This is the story of Nigeria and it is sad.

I saw the video of soldiers, in the Presidential Guard with machine gun, shooting a war machine sporadically like drunken men on a mission to hell fire.

They are not in a war front. They are not confronting a dangerous enemy threatening their own survival.

They are shooting at protesting members of shiite community in Abuja Nigeria.

According to the Newyork Times, it has never been heard or seen anywhere in the world, where such weapons are used against a civilian population or to break a protest.

Nigeria just broke another record.

We are in a country against humanity. We have a government against humanity.

But even we the citizens are not any different, we are a citizen against humanity.

If you want to understand how pathetic Nigerians can be, even the educated ones, have them talk about politics.

If the people who trooped to Ojota and other places in 2012 in solidarity against the projected removal of fuel subsidy and pegging of price from N87 to N97 have suddenly gone blind, deaf and dumb when: This government increased the fuel price to N145 on the backdrop of the recouped funds being channeled to transport, education etc.

But something was not right. In 2016, Osibanjo claimed subsidy had been removed and the government was saving many billions. He doubled down in every event he went to how subsidy had been removed, until last week when he couldn't cover up the lie anymore. The problem with this lie is not just about the deception, it is that the government is paying about 200%-250% more subsidy for a product that costs 30% less.

Perhaps, the most disturbing thing about all of this is that every penny spent by this government on fuel subsidy since 2016 is unbudgeted. That is, every penny spent has not been appraised, audited, not to talk of being approved by the national assembly. The impact of this illegal criminality is disturbing.

If a professor of law and chairman of the presidential panel on corruption could comment on Adeosun's false certificate as unnecessary distraction as long as she is doing her job. Then this tells you the problem in this country.

Buhari's criminal incompetence has been a burden to this country. A man who took more than six months to appoint a cabinet or even lay down a government plan and when there was a report of how many businesses were folding up and some leaving the country, he famously quipped that "they are the agents of corruption leaving". Buhari's ineptitude greatly contributed to the recession. Is it just coincidental that the two times Nigeria has been in recession, thirty four years apart, has been under one man? Look up who that man is.

Till today, there are MDAs without official heads and that is not surprising because he defended his late formation of cabinet and derided ministers as "noise makers".

Let me leave the other examples of his failings on the economy and focus on the tenets of the thread.

I'll be back to state the widely documented incidents of how the Northern elites, including Buhari, El-rufai, Shettima etc, weaponised the war on terror under GEJ, as anti-North.

Someday, most of you will come to realize the problem of this country. Someday, you will look in the mirror and tell yourself that Nigeria is just a product of British criminality.

The greatest crime the British committed in this country, after Colonialism, is the amalgamation. The forceful alignment of strange bed fellows will never allow this country work. This country will always be analyzed via ethnic, religion and cultural ethos.

Don't take my word for it, ask Awolowo.

Unfortunate death. We never learn in Nigeria.
Exactly 5 years ago (23rd December 2013), I fell into an armed robbery ambush coming from Abuja, around Nasarawa state. The experience was traumatic and I was lucky to escape alive. The robbers were dressed in army uniforms, and mounted a road block like legitimate army men. Only when we had stopped for them did I see people leaving their cars to run. I was too late and had a guy with gun by my side. I was robbed of all I had then. It was around the time BHTs attacked Abuja. I feared for the worst!
Reading this story gives me serious flash back to that night(it was the same road!). We were all lying down on the asphalt while they just beat whoever they could. The funny thing was that there were 3 legit check points after the robbery point. The closest check point was within a kilometer. The policemen claimed not to hear anything.

Our highways are fertile grounds for armed robbers and kidnappers. No one is safe.

FIGHT AGAINST INSURGENCY: NAF WINGS NEW UAV PILOTS, IMMORTALIZES LATE SQUADRON LEADER BABA-ARI IN MAIDUGURI

As a mark of honour for the supreme price paid by Late Squadron Leader (Sqn Ldr) Muhammed Bello Baba-Ari, an experienced fighter pilot who died on 28 September 2018 while participating in the aerial display rehearsals for the 58th Nigerian Independence Day Celebration, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has named the newly commissioned Pilots’ Crew Room at the Headquarters Air Task Force (HQ ATF) Operation LAFIYA DOLE in Maiduguri after the late senior officer. The ultra-modern Pilots Crew Room Building, which houses a briefing room, computer room/library, pilots’ life-support room, lounge, recreation room, kitchen, 3 bedrooms for pilots on standby as well as several restrooms, would go a long way in adding value to the fight against insurgency and bolstering the morale of officers and men in the frontlines. The ceremony, which took place in Maiduguri today, 18 December 2018, also witnessed the commissioning of a newly constructed HQ ATF Extension Building as well as the winging of 5 Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) pilots, in furtherance of the capacity building initiatives of the current NAF leadership.

In his remarks during the event, the Special Guest of Honour (SGOH), former Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Air Marshal Al-Amin Daggash, commended the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, for the monumental achievements the current NAF administration has made since 2015. He acknowledged the many milestones attained in such a short time, as evidenced by the many completed projects in all NAF Bases across the Country. This, he said, was a clear testimony of the zeal and commitment of the CAS to the welfare of NAF personnel. He equally expressed admiration for the remarkable operational achievements the NAF had recorded in the past 3 years. According to him, the achievements were clearly manifested in the NAF’s effective projection of air power in pursuit of national security objectives across the country, particularly in Operation LAFIYA DOLE. He noted that the highly commendable operational successes were attributed largely to the dynamic leadership of the CAS as well as the acquisition and induction of various platforms into the inventory of the NAF by the Federal Government. He therefore expressed appreciation to President Muhammadu Buhari for providing necessary support to enhance the operational readiness and welfare of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, in spite of the current economic realities of the Country.

Speaking further, Air Marshal Daggash noted that the winging of the 5 UAV pilots was yet another testimony of the CAS’ adept dexterity in focusing attention on all aspects of Service growth. He congratulated the officers for attaining their new status while urging them to employ their newly acquired knowledge and skill to add value to efforts aimed at securing the nation. The former CDS also commended the CAS for immortalizing late Sqn Ldr Baba-Ari, a committed, dedicated and experienced fighter pilot who participated actively in the operations in the North-East, by naming the magnificent Pilots’ Crew Room Building after him. He described the gesture as befitting and appropriate. He enjoined officers and men to imbibe such sterling qualities while redoubling their efforts to uplift the NAF and the Nation to more enviable heights.

The CAS, in his opening remarks, expressed delight to be in Maiduguri to assess the conduct of operations while also seizing the opportunity to witness the commissioning of the projects and winging of the UAV pilots. He noted that the event was another opportunity to re-focus attention on the clarion call of the nation for increased commitment to duty and service. He observed that the NAF has been performing very crucial roles towards providing the much needed air support to enable ground operations proceed unhindered. According to him, “in pursuit of the NAF’s constitutional roles, and also in line with my vision for the NAF, I have constantly sought, not only to evolve strategies that would enable the Service adequately project air power to effectively and efficiently deal with prevalent security threats, but to also see to it that personnel welfare is given utmost priority”, he said.

The CAS, who expressed satisfaction with the progressive performances of the ATF against the insurgents, especially during the last Operation GREEN SWEEP, further charged the Task Force to reciprocate the various welfare enhancements by dealing harder and more effective blows against the remaining elements of the Boko Haram insurgents with a view to completely eliminating them. He reassured the troops of NAF support, particularly in providing what they require to prosecute the war, as far as the prevailing national economic realities permit. Air Marshal Abubakar also thanked the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buahari, for his overwhelming support to the NAF towards the achievement of its desired goals. He pledged the resolute commitment of the Service to the successful execution of the ongoing counterinsurgency efforts. He also specially appreciated the SGOH and former CDS for his presence at the event while noting that the enviable status of the NAF was attributable to the legacies he and previous Chiefs had built in the past.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Commander ATF, Air Vice Marshal James Gwani, said the CAS, in seeking to enhance the welfare of the ever increasing number of personnel posted to the ATF, had embarked on massive construction of office and residential accommodation in NAF Base Maiduguri. He noted that this had gone long way in boosting the morale and fighting spirit of the troops. He said the Pilots’ Crew Room was simply another one of such morale-boosting initiatives aimed at providing a dedicated, purpose-built location for aircrew to relax and refresh before or after operational missions. He therefore expressed the profound gratitude of the entire ATF to the CAS for the final realization of a Pilots’ Crew Room, consistent with international standards.

PRESS RELEASE

SPREADING OF MISINFORMATION ON THE CIRCUMSTANCES SURROUNDING THE DEATH OF FORMER CDS, AIR CHIEF MARSHAL ALEX BADEH

‪The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has noted, with dismay, some erroneous reports and comments in the media regarding the unfortunate incident that led to the death of former Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh, on 18 December 2018. Some of these reports erroneously state that the driver of the late former CDS, who was also shot during the incident, is dead. Other reports allege that adequate security was not provided for the deceased Air Chief Marshal.

The NAF wishes to state categorically that nothing could be further from the truth. Firstly, all are please requested to note that the driver is alive and recuperating extremely well at one of our NAF Hospitals. Secondly, Air Chief Marshal Badeh has always been provided with the full compliment of personal staff and security personnel commensurate with his status as a former Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), CDS and a 4-star general in the Armed Forces of Nigeria.

As mentioned by the CAS, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, on 19 December 2018, the NAF is working closely with other relevant security agencies to determine the circumstances surrounding the death of the former CDS with a view to ensuring that the perpetrators of the heinous act are brought to justice. Substantial progress has already been made in the ongoing investigation and details would be communicated at the appropriate time.

While appreciating the overwhelming show of support received from well-meaning Nigerians during this trying time, the NAF wishes to request that the spreading of misinformation about the incident should stop forthwith as this could have adverse effects on the conduct of ongoing operations.

NAF FOURTH QUARTER CONFERENCE: CAS TASKS COMMANDERS TO BE COURAGEOUS IN DISCHARGE OF DUTIES

The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, has charged Branch Chiefs, Air Officers Commanding, Commanders and other senior Nigerian Air Force (NAF) officers to be bold, courageous and focused in carrying out their constitutional responsibilities. He urged them not to be discouraged by the death of the former Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh, but rather be more resilient while redoubling their efforts in safeguarding the territorial integrity of Nigeria and ensuring that all law abiding citizens go about their daily affairs without fear. The CAS stated this yesterday, 19 December 2018, while flagging-off the Fourth Quarter CAS’ Conference at the Headquarters NAF (HQ NAF) Abuja.

Air Marshal Abubakar, who expressed shock over the attack on the former CDS, noted that the incident was a heinous crime which should not be accepted in any civilized society. He disclosed that the NAF had already commenced investigations into the matter and was working closely with other relevant security agencies to ensure that the perpetrators of the dastardly act are brought to justice. The CAS noted that the NAF in the past three and half years had, on its part, continued to work tirelessly to eliminate gaps that had existed in the Nigerian security architecture for several decades. He explained that the NAF was doing its part to build the capacity of NAF Regiment and Special Forces personnel to bridge the gap between force projection and force protection. He noted that the recent graduation of 769 personnel from the NAF Regiment Training Centre Kaduna was a testament to this fact, as these personnel had been posted to units across the country to enhance security. These were in addition to the 300 Special Forces personnel already deployed to Benue State under Operation WHIRL STROKE and 300 deployed to Zamfara State under Operation SHARAN DAJI to deal with the security challenges in the Northwest and Northcentral parts of the country, respectively.

Furthermore, the CAS noted that, with the support of Federal Government, the NAF has been able to raise its serviceability status of operable aircraft from 36%, in 2015, to between 78% and 82%, in 2018 which is unprecedented in the history of the Service. He stated that the NAF had also commenced local Periodic Depot Maintenance (PDM) of 3 NAF Alpha Jet aircraft at the 407 Air Combat Training Group (407 ACTG) Kainji, which would further boost aircraft availability for the conduct of air operations. He also revealed that the NAF had successfully recovered one Alpha Jet aircraft, NAF 476, from the United States of America. The CAS remarked that the aircraft, which arrived Nigeria on 6 December 2018, would soon be deployed for operations in the Northeast. He noted furthermore that the NAF had provided refuelling facilities at Gusau in Zamfara State and Katsina in Katsina State and has commenced the construction of a helipad at Brinin Gwari in Kaduna State in order to improve NAF’s ability to respond to threats in the Northwest of Nigeria. He explained that all of these would enhance NAF’s air power employment capability in the various Theatres of Operation. The CAS used the opportunity to reiterate that security is everybody’s business. He therefore encouraged all Nigerians to continue to assist security agencies by providing useful information that would help in the execution of operations. He assured Nigerians that the NAF would continue to do its best to ensure the security of all Nigerians.

The CAS Conference is a quarterly meeting of Principal Staff Officers and field commanders which affords NAF leadership the opportunity to critically assess the performance of the Service in previous quarters with a view to evolving strategies for improvement. The Conference equally provides an avenue to obtain feedback from various field commanders while also keeping them abreast of the policy direction of HQ NAF.
