Minister of State II for Foreign Affairs, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro has clarified his much talked about taste for palm-slipper footwears. The Minister came under harsh criticism on Friday in the Nigerian social media over what critics described as “too informal for a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.” But in a telephone interview with BREAKING TIMES on Friday, Senator Obanikoro revealed the real reason behind his usual choice of the slippers. “I have serious problems with my toes. I was operated on them twice but the pain still won’t go away. This has made it very difficult for me to wear proper shoes as frequently as I would love to”, he said. Known for his trim and physically fit physique which he attributes to a “healthy eating habit and a regular appointment at the gym”, Senator Obanikoro easily passes for one of Nigeria’s trendiest Ministers. 1 Share
