This Zulu king looks like his brother in Lagos, the one in South Africa is even courteous in his words unlike the local Oba in Lagos who threatened a whole ethnic group with death in the lagoon. I wonder why we are condemning South Africans when the whole world know what the Fulani almajiri has been doing to other tribes since 1966 coupled with BH lately. We are like the proverbial ostrich... 1 Like |

At least he is beta dan Akiolu. He hates people frm anoda country but Akiolu hates people frm d same country as himself. Akiolu showed himself as a political dog while d south african shows himself as a defender of his people, tho wrongly. 2 Likes |

Nigerians did nothing wrong to start this, but they could help de-escalate the mounting hostility. Can someone reference what talks have been attempted to mitigate this genocide? nigerian leaders could end this right now. Why can't respected tribal leaders of Nigeria talk with Zwelithi, hopefully that local Nigerian leader is not a snob politician as well. This is not a political fight, but genocide that will leave behind a trail of hatred from all African sides if this isn't addressed candidly. Yeaa, Nigeria has another problem to solve... but they shouldnt have to. If you're going to claim the giant of Africa title, you're going to have solve problems of equal proportion, or nigeria could further escalate this problem. Nigerians shouldn't have to do anything because they have done nothing wrong, but if Nigerian are equipped to solve problems... South Africans are waiting. Somewhere there's a disconnect between the two, start there. |

Xenophobia is an act that should be criticized as it impacts the country that encourages its presence. The king's view on immigrants is very skewed. His unfounded conclusion on effects of immigrants on his people should be questioned as it clearly caused the upheaval according to the article. This is the reason people should investigate critical thoughts of a person before electing him or her as a leader. While immigrants may affect the economic sustenance of citizens, they contribute to development of their(the citizens') country in a number of ways - economy, education, and so on. United States is a good case study herein. The mass flow of immigrants into the United States have not only improved the economy of the country but has aided the governments monetary power through tax. Study (Migration Policy, 2015) claimed that, as of 2013, 41.3 million immigrants live in the US, another source (Social Security, 2013) stated that average yearly wage in the US as of 2013 was $44888.16. Likewise, Now and Future (2014) estimated income tax in the US to be 10.1%. Subsequently, by synthesizing the number of immigrants, wage and respective income tax, one would infer the amount of yearly payments that go into US government's coffers through immigrants. By using the assertion in the preceding paragraph, South Africa growth could be due to the immigrants. Therefore it is safe to say the king's view is very narrow. References Migration Policy,. 2015. ikelvin: I agree that the public conduct of traditional rulers should be subject to new statutory regulations. Furthermore, prospective candidates for kingship must be subject to psychiatric evaluation, in addition to other screenings, without exceptions. 1 Like 1 Share |
