@Ibime

What do you think about Stephen Ireland. . . I used to think the guy was shit. . . I have had my eye on him now for the whole season and believe me I think he is the most improved player in the premiership this season.

What do you think about him . . he's 22 we can nick him.
Re: Chelsea Fans: Identify Yourselves Here by Ibime(m): 11:13pm On Mar 12, 2009
Steven's very good. He's a bit of a d1ckhead though. Im sure you remember the story with his grandmother.

I'm not concerned with him cos we got Lamps already for his position. Plus, the only natural successor I see for Lamps is my boy Gourcuff. Infact, we should have sold Lamps last summer (as much as I love him) cos Gourcuff was going for £11m.

Besides, Man City got more $$$ than us, so forget about Ireland.

Though i hate chealse,i admire the vigour that has come with this Hiddink era. Four coaches in two season, the question is has the messiah come at last? Up MANUTD

Nateevs,a belated happy birthday o.
Chelsea's last eight CL qualification on Tuesday gladdens me to no end.I wonder whether we could have been able to score even a single goal in the course of the two legs under LFS.When GH was made the gaffer,Ranieri knew that 'e don red' for Juventus. And so it was.

Re: Chelsea Fans: Identify Yourselves Here by Mustay(m): 6:32am On Mar 13, 2009
The no nonsense attitude GH has bought into the squad has made the big boys clique in the team to think twice for every guy has got to fight for his 1st team shirt. Talk about bringing back the NEVER SAY DIE chelsea. Just hope L'pool can do us a favour this weekend. I suspect a pool-chelsea quarterfinal.
Re: Chelsea Fans: Identify Yourselves Here by Delcylvi(m): 8:58am On Mar 13, 2009
Chealse fans have resigned their hope only to fighting for a second place in the EPL. Just like Arsenal, chealse is turning into a club of mediocres (which it was before mourinho's two years of magic). Liverpool just dont have that extra-stability needed to carry the EPL. Manchester United remain Champions forever (quote me).

Chelsea stars ask Hiddink to stay

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/c/chelsea/7940549.stm

Chelsea stars Michael Ballack and Petr Cech want interim manager Guus Hiddink to stay at Stamford Bridge beyond the end of the season.

The Dutchman continues to insist he will return to his role as Russia boss in May, despite an impressive start at Stamford Bridge.

Ballack said: "I would love for him to say he is staying for three years. Everyone feels he is a great manager."

Cech added: "He is a very good coach and we want him to stay."

Chelsea won their first six matches under Hiddink, the seventh being the 2-2 draw with Juventus that took them into the Champions League quarter-finals.

They have reached the FA Cup semi-finals and climbed to second in the Premier League, seven points behind leaders Manchester United.

Didier Drogba, who has been revitalised since Hiddink replaced the sacked Luiz Felipe Scolari, has scored four goals in five games and the team's fighting spirit has returned.

Ballack added: "Even in a short time he has had a big influence on the team."

The Russian Football Union, who allowed Hiddink to take on the Chelsea role in addition to his job with them, have admitted the situation might change in the summer.

"We have an agreement with Guus Hiddink that he will combine the two posts only until the summer. Of course, everything can change," said Union President Vitaly Mutko.

"I don't think he would agree to join any club other than Chelsea, and that is not because of his special relationship with (owner) Roman Abramovich, but because Chelsea are the kind of global side that any coach would like to manage."

Cech added: "It is a difficult political situation and we will have to wait to see what happens."

U know what?? I grew up hearing United are lucky bastards.
Season after season after season. . . .United would be held 0-0 and on the 90th minute. . . .a miracle would come from nowhere and they would turn 1 point to 3 points.
Letz be honest. . . . . .It's not LUCK. . . . .United work so hard and have earned it.

By this time tomorrow, we would be celebrating our 11th league title. grin grin grin

Its a promise!!!

I gave someone from Nairaland tickets to France vs England last year.

My friend's brother inlaw is a manager at Stade and always gives him tickets, but my friend doesn't watch football anymore, so I get them from him.

Thank God for Surulere indeed! grin

Really, beef aside, dunno how MU came this far.
No doubt they're a good team, but not necessarily better than the other top 3.
L'pool still has a more formidable squad than MU this season.
Maybe SAF just brings luck to the team.
How can we explain JT slipping before his spot kick inj last CL final?
I can't figure.

Bluediva,

All joking aside . . . . . Man Utd is a super team with a super squad. . . . every week they change the team, still they remain rock solid. . . . . last year, I thought Man Utd was a one-man team, but this year, they have proved that their squad is their strength. . . . their defence is the best in Europe. . . . Ferdinand and Vidic are beasts. . . . Jonny Evans comes in and there's no difference. They have 3 or 4 players for every position. Nani and Anderson cannot even smell first team for them, yet they are top youngsters. Forget story. Lets give credit where its due. Chelsea have a lot of work to do this summer. Man Utd are OK for the next 5 years, even without any additions to their playing staff.

Go and read Rafa Benitez's comments about Liverpool's squad in comparison to Man Utd.

I can't figure.

U have to figure out how the best player in the world missed his penalty against a poor Petr Cech.
I mean. . . . . How many kicks has Cech saved in a shoot-out situation??
Ronaldo's pen was Cech's first SAVE in a penalty shootout against any decent side.

Without Ronaldo's miss. . . . .JT's slip wouldn't have been important!!!
