[quote author=ECOTERRORS post=33590371]The privitisation is a process that will start yielding fruits in the long run. PHCN staff should keep quiet because they ran PHCN down with their corruption[/quote Exactly! Does he think we have short memory of their high scale financial recklessness. No more room for feeding fat on the govt

Privitization of phcn is fraud but billing people outrageously without giving light and not distributing prepaid meter is not fraud. Phcn will not cease to amaze me

If the sector ended up being privatized or government owned, GMB will definitely deal with the rot within the system presently. His presidency is somewhat resting on the believe by Nigerians that electricity issues will be a thing of the past under his leadership. No worries though, Buhati is up to the task.

Most of those private companies belong to Mrs Patience Jonathan, she bought most of them through her frontsmen and cronies while she rakes in all the profits while the citizens wallow in darkness.
General Buhari must probe the sale of PHCN and those who bought it and rewarded Nigerians with pitch black darkness.

“Even the so called privatization, you can see that even this year alone, between January and now, they have even given the so called private sector over N200 billion. So, why fund them if you say the electricity is in the hands of the private sector? That brings you to the point of the fraud on who owns them.

“Why would you sell your house to somebody and you still give him money to maintain it? So, it’s a fraud.”

There is a "rumor"...please dont quote me; that Mama Peace has a majority of share(s) in the privatization. Going by the world class hotel she allegedly built in Bayelsa I will not doubt that

The private owners received loans of about N200B, can the electricity workers tell Nigerians how many hundreds of Billion were paid to them?

I thought these goons preferred Nebo to Nnaji? I mean Barth took our output to 4000mw, but the usual PHD syndrome and Barth's naivety saw him out!

The same union leaders fought Barth and got Nebo! Greedy people, power must be privatised and Buhari will do it! Amen

The late Lee Kuan Yew of Singapore during his lifetime as the prime minister of his country on assumption of duty while being inaugurated said 3 things he'll tackle. He said 1... I'll fight CORRUPTION.... 2....I'll fight CORRUPTION.....3.......I'll fight CORRUPTION. The corruption in this our country called Nigeria is too much not to be fought. There's absolutely no way Buhari can fix this country without FIGHTING CORRUPTION first and foremost. While Nigerians won't believe his fight against CORRUPTION if he fails to prosecute those found involved and guilty. Much was given to Buhari, therefore much is expected. Just like the much given to JONATHAN BADLUCK and in return it's absolute dissapointment.

It should be obvious that the whole privatisation was indeed a fraud: the sector was clearly not sold to the correct ppl who truly had the money needed to invest and ambition to improve power sector but unfortunately to a favoured cabal who not only didn't have the required capacity to invest but also lacked the will power for investment.

The trick was to hoodwink Nigerians in collusion with Jonathan's corrupt government to believe that they were genuine investors; but instead, rather than bringing in additional fresh money as expected they would instead be depending on money from us (the consumers) through increased tariffs - remember our electricity bills were increased shortly after the sale of NEPA; well thats how they planned it and got the money to run these companies (sold to them on the cheap) without risking their own.

Still that not done; the FG followed them with an awoof bribe of N200 billion to agree to fool us even further as if electricity had not only improved but also become even cheaper with the announcement of reduction in tariffs by 50% so that we will be happily deceived into going out to vote for that incompetent Otuoke man - as part of his election wuru wuru.

The ongoing bad situation is our own reward for being so gullible and docile with a clearly corrupt and bad administration - for now we should just accept to suffer in silence until, if we are lucky, Buhari decides to do something about it, shikenan.

When APC said during their campaigns that they are okay with privatization of the DISCOS and will privatize the GENCO a union is here making noise.
The fact is the union wanted govt to own PHCN so that they can continue siphoning from govt budget

exactly. we know power has been poor but recently(this year) it became non existent. those workers are surely responsible then. they intentionally stopped supplyjng just before elections so that people will think privatisation is a bad idea. they are the reason why nigerians have been in darkness!!!

If anyone has to cry, surely not ex-staff because they ran the company to the ground with lackadaisical attitude and were paid off. The power sector needs reform. And the reform starts from cleaning away the cows on top that are obsolete hardware and the ex-staff keeping quiet.

u nailed it. their lacadeisical attittude is the only reason they still want PHCN owned by the government...a good cover for their indolence. yeye
