Dear yemisi
I want to appreciate you for what God is using you to do for humanity. I have been following your comments via this column and I want to believe that my own request will be sorted out.
I am 38 years old working in a viable firm with a good pay. As a graduate there is nothing that I need in terms of material things that I don 't have except a good suitor.
I graduated some eight years ago, waiting to be approached by a lover, but I have not been fortunate to meet a serious minded man. All the ones who have spoken with me since I made up my mind to settle down, I have realised are just fun seekers.
When I was an undergraduate, I had so many male casual friends and I never considered any of them as husband material.
I am becoming worried by the day because age is no longer on my side. All my younger sisters are happily married. My parents are not helping matters as they insist that I must not bring home any man who is not from Yorubaland.
Coupled with the above is that I have been to many ministers of God who have told me that a generational curse is operating in my life being the first child of my parents. They have asked me to come for deliverance, but I have not gone back for the programme.
Now my fear is, what if I am not so fortunate to get a Yoruba man and my refusal to submit to any kind of deliverance because I don't believe in such an exercise, what will be my lot?

Dear Op, ur refusal 2 submit 2 d deliverance makes u an ogbanje!

I'll advice u go for counselling first in a reputable church and if d pastor comes up with d deliverance stuff too, u have no choice buh to go through d deliverance and also have faith dat ur problem would be solved via d deliverance session.

About d fear of not getting married to a yoruba man, its not 4 u 2 decide buh God. Yoruba or no yoruba, at least u're happily married @ last.

All d best Dear!

What's Nigerians' problem with 'deliverance, fasting, etc
If anything goes wrong, then it must be spiritual. That's why we can't use our brains any longer, and rely solely on things 'pastors' tell us, a great percent of which are lies undecided

At 38 you're still allowing your parents decide a tribe you should get married from , then you truly need deliverance.

Should she shun her parents and marry? What if God forbid something goes wrong? Who does she run back to? Abeg try put yourself in her shoes. Will you abandon your family to marry a guy?
I think the change needs to start from her parents. They need deliverance not her.

Except their reason is reasonable I don't see why an parent should narrow the spouse of their child to just one tribe. If it were me I'll talk my parents out of it if they refuse then being a graduate for 8 years should mean that I can take care of myself so I'll let them be hoping they'll see reason later , they definitely won't neglect their children except they're the reason why I was single for that long.

Its a very tricky thing sha. I understand what you mean. For those who are still single, I pray they dont encounter such wahala, its a very stressful thing.
I still believe her parents need deliverance sha.
