While playing the feud, APC made itself look as the defensive side, and was successful in influencing people's emotion and getting their sympathy votes. APC won the presidential seat and majority of governorship, senate and house of representative seats; but that did not go without Mr. Amechi and his counterpart from adamawa state, Mr. Nyako, receiving a political bluster. Amechi lost the executive structure of his state to PDP and Nyako was ousted in a civilian coup-de-tat by his state's PDP law makers. sammyscholar what do u min by dis.cif so what is d purpose for campaign if nt for wooing votets |

sammyscholar:Will politicians vote themselves into power? All their politics was aimed at convincing the voters to vote their party. But at the end, it's the people that voted based on their choice. They voted out pdp simply because pdp didn't live up to their promises and people's expection. They weren't coerced to vote who they voted. They did that on their own free will |

Miracy:the result, undoubtedly, shows tribal romance. South east and south south eloped with pdp. virtually all the three regions in the northern part of the country follewed APC. And you say people are tired of jonathan's administration. The result was not a consensus. If it had been, all Nigerians would have spoken with one voice. Either north, south, east or what have you, we would have all (atleast) gone for a candidate. The voting pattern was tribalistic and that is the handiwork of our political parties. We receive whatever is thrown at us. They are the players. We are just mere lookers sister. The election is an outcome of a political vendetta. 2 Likes |

sammyscholar:smiles. U nid to understand that jonathan's administration failed woefully, most especially in the south west, and tthe northern part of the country. And the best they can do is to vote him out. Y can u even say the election is a vendetta, when the losser, Dr Jonathan confirm d election as credible, even after lossing. Accept the truth |

Microflux:it is one thing that led to another @microflux. APC could not have won if not for the likes of Amechi and co who left PDP to form ally with the party's sworn rival. Amechi and is new party played vendetta politics against PDP (especially against jonathan) and vice versa. Pls what can you explain about political vendetta? Waiting. |

Microflux:south south/east are not left out. Or are you saying he performed more in those regions? Can you please enumerate all the projects he executed in all the six regions and let see which is more than which. You can't just say that without giving fact and figures. I will take that as a mere assumtion. Don't be amazed; he would have won had fued not broken out in his party prior the election. 1 Like |

@OAU, if the 1993 election could be won convincingly (the north, south and west all with one voice), and the 1999 following the same manner, why was it not so with that of 2015?. 1 Like |

And I ask you: if they had remained in the PDP, wouldn't GEJ have won again. It would have been the doings, will, and brain child of the masses if an underdog party had won. Not APC! Not PDP! There are other parties with great technocrats, why can't they win? I say it again: we are mere spectators. The script of the election was written by our politicians, not the common civilians. sammyscholar: I'd like to weigh in here... you must understand that political vendetta only exist between the politicians themselves. The voters care less. All the voters are interested in are a better life for themselves and their families. And they'll vote for a party that promises them that no matter the evil in the politician/party's heart. That's the reality we find ourselves in today. Blame it on illiteracy. Democracy cannot succeed unless those who express their choice are prepared to choose wisely. The real safeguard of democracy, therefore, is education. - Franklin D. Roosevelt. Maybe we didn't choose wisely in the last election but we made a choice. And we'll have to live with it 2 Likes |

dam4wummy:good idea! It was nt so because the former president, was biased in his infracstural development programme, and the campaign strategy his party launched abt islamizing the country led to religious dispute. Tgirl4real:yes. It should. Before d election he promise a free and fair election with transparency inclusive(which prof Jega did by sitting for almost four hrs in front of a national tv, collating d election result). In his conceeding speech he said "I promise free and fair election and have done that." what else? To be sincere dis is one of the best election in recent times ma. |
