When are they passing the Occupational Health and Safety Bill? Nigerian HSE professional are still deploying US and UK occupational laws to operate down here. We need our own occupational health law that's tailored to our peculiar business and work environment. The bill has been amassing dust for years. It was last visited September 2012! I think the witness protection and whiste blower bills are okay. 1 Like |

[quote author=realborn post=34410204] 23 - witness protection 36 - whistle blower Witnesses are identified via investigation and may seek for identity to be protected. Whistle blower is an insider within a key establishment often statutory that brings to public without consent an anomaly within the system. Eg the guy who exposed Ekitigate.[quote] Remember a supposed whistleblower may ne requested to testify about a case thus becoming a witness. A whistleblower most times becomes a witness. Why should the two bills be different? A protection facility serves the same purpose for a witness, a whistleblower or even an asylum seeker. The duplication is unnecessary. 2 Likes |

We love to sensationalize. Although the possibility sounds magical, but all those bills had passed upto the 3rd readings before they were passed yesterday. So it is not like they entered and just timed themselves to 10mins to pass all dem bills. The 1st Igbo language blog is out, it is fun and insightful. The 1999 constitution is a document supervised by northern Nigeria soldiers. It was rushed to legit the lopsided and undue 19 states and Abuja in the once one region north of Nigeria, but only 17 states in the once three regions south. With three senators from each state, the north this possess near veto power on Nigeria's political process. Without first restructuring Nigeria's polity for equitable representation between north and south of Nigeria, any amendment on the constitution is like brick layers atop a house shaking on its foundation and trying to amend the house. 3 Likes |
