The people of the west have rolled the dice and gambled on power in the centre as against quality governance locally, that's why no one can talk. In history great empires are oft not humbled by external adversity but by internal revolt. If the APC fails to become a democratic party it will suffer the same fate as the PDP it replaced. The issue of state debts are entirely economic and so they need economic solutions. Since Aregbe has a political mandate he can afford to trade that for economic gains by cutting social programs, cutting the workforce and cutting overheads. He should invest in the tools of short term productivity. He must re-evaluate his relationship with the party at the centre and review downwards his allegiances if he is not getting help so that the people of Osun will spread their tirade across board. Blame for this mess is collective. The people for wrong political choices, the party for not evolving into a true democratic institution and the government for shielding the people from the realities of a failing economy all for cheap votes. 9 Likes |

PointB: why would you advocate merging a new state with another new one instead of joining or rejoining an old state. You might as well say Ekiti should be merged with Kogi then? Or vice versa. |

PointB: shut up jare, i don't know what your problem is, are Abia, akwa ibom and imo not also owing salaries? you fools should leave osun alone and face your decrepit abia state. The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) is currently planning an indefinite strike over salaries being owed civil servants by some state governments.http://pulse.ng/local/unpaid-salaries-these-are-the-18-states-that-are-owing-workers-id3786716.html 1 Like |

Why are people so fixated on Osun and its unpaid wages, lots of other states and also owing and even the state with the highest allocation is owing its teachers several months of salary. Akwa Ibom teachers on strike for unpaid salaries Teachers in Akwa Ibom State have begun an indefinite strike over non-payment of their salaries, promotion arrears and leave grant by Governor Godswill Akpabio. http://thenationonlineng.net/new/akwa-ibom-teachers-strike-unpaid-salaries/ |

"Imagine them going on strike for just two month, what should Lautech Teaching Hospital Ogbimoso do? They haven't been paid for this year at all" They also have family that depends on them ooooo. Ajimobi wet in Lautech Teaching Hospital Ogbomoso do you. Lecturers of the Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti, have declared an indefinite strike over non- payment of their two-month salaries. Academic activities at the school were paralysed on Tuesday as the lecturers stayed away from work. Disappointed students who came for lectures were seen discussing the issue in hush tones. The lecturers are being owed January and February salaries. The Chairman Academic Staff Union of Universities, Prof. Olufayo Oluodo, said the academic staff had no option than to stay away from work because non-payment of their salaries had made life difficult for them. Oluodo said, “Our members have no money again to be moving up and down, we are being owed two months and we have not been paid at all this year. “We have made our position known to the university authorities and we have written to the state government on the matter. “We have met with the Deputy Governor to resolve the matter and another meeting with government has been slated for tomorrow.” There were indications that the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities and the Non- Academic Staff Union might also declare an indefinite strike to press home their demands for January and February salaries. A source from the university said, “The ASUU is on strike, but we will like it if other unions join us too because they are also affected.” Even after the strike, they haven't still be paid up till now and its four months already. Please don't quote me cos I won't reply you again.
|

django1: This is an Osun State debt thread. When such thread is open for other states, then perhaps we can discuss them. If you don't want to speak to the topic, that's your problem. Asking others not to, is not particularly bright. We can't leave Osun State alone, the people there are filling our ears with their cries, and they wet our space with their tears. If you wish you can leave them alone, but we WON'T! Get that into your thick skull! 6 Likes |

Without appologies osun people deserve this punishment. Reason is they knew him very well and they voted him the second time because they deceived them that Jonathan is their problem. Now that APC is there, the truth is glaring them to their faces and they cannot help themselves now till the next election. Aregbe has got nothing to lose now. I run into them on daily basis regretting their votes. They wanted the king of babylon and they got a very wicked one with bia bia. Nairalanding from Dada Estate, osogbo. 6 Likes |
