The incessant plane crash in Nigeria is a matter that calls for urgent attention. The recent Tuesday 18th plane crash in Benue state of Nigeria that led to the death of top echelons of the Nigerian Army is a national tragedy that revealed the level of insecurity of the nation's airspace.Just last year the nation lost so many lives from this same ugly incident. It seems there is more to this than we could think, could it have politically undertone? Is it an act of God? Is it an inefficiency problem on the part of government agency responsible for airspace safety?, but something drastic has to be done to arrest the situation, otherwise, humh, what do u think?? undecided sad cry

The aviation minister has to be ashamed of himself!

What does the minister of aviation have to do with a plane crash? Please.

If someone has a car crash no one blames the "minister of road transportation". It's just an accident.

SEUN: I see your point, but you can not compare apple to mango. There are many restriction and protocol governing the transport aviation.
The science and technology of flight through the air is a serious process that needs to be managed by serious people or organization; we can not afford to have incompetent individual in this position.

The air-transport aviation is primarily the operation of commercial airlines essentially as a public utility for the movement of people; and keep in mind that 99% of these people do not have control over their safety once the plane is in the air; unlike land transportation that gives people several options in regard to transporting themselves or how, when, or where to be transported. In other words people have more control when it comes to land transportation.

Hence whenever there is a plane crash (which is probably once or twice a year), a civilized country should hold someone or an organization responsible. This is not a bad thing, but an effective strategy to ensure the safety of the citizens.

I support the notion to probe the aviation minister responsible when ever there is a plane crash.

Not only the minister, the traffic controller and the technicians all have to be probe.
Re: Plane Crash In Nigeria! by BigB11(m): 1:04am On Oct 13, 2006
ODEKU: what's wrong with you?

Don't you know that once the minister is being probed, it also means every single party in that department is being probed.

The same finger that touches the first wife will also touch the second wife, third wife, fourth wife and so on.

They all must be heavily probed and this action will definitely protect the lives of the citizens, it will also give people confidence to fly with no fear.

This is one of the things IBB will reform as soon as he becomes our new president in 2007.

May God bless Nigeria.

In civilised countries the 'Honorable Minister' would have resigned but woe and alas
no one takes the buck in that jungle wink - there have been plane crashes too many just
for the same reason thousands die prematurely on the Lagos- Ibadan highway, the Benin-
Ore Highway and no one has said were is the bastard that stole billions allocated for road
maintenance how come he aint in gaol

BigB1 what kind of love portion or grease is IBB using on you? is this the same IBB that orchestrate the killing of Dele Giwa ? and the Plane crash during his regime? a man without moral or empath for the poor? This your IBB should be cooling his hills in KIRIKIRI

i have repeatedly said that kirikiri prison is too good for IBB, he should be sent to gashua or ikot ekpene.
