Let me wade in on this. There's a misconception as to what being aggressive means in football. One-time or one-off incidents hardly counts. Anyone can get mad, but am sure the op means regular aggressors.
Paolo Maldini isnt/wasnt aggressive! He read the game too well, fast-thinker. Many of the guys are energetic but not aggressive. Arturo Vidal is not aggressive! Yes, y'all saw him snapping @heels in the UCL Final, that's cuz its the final. U gotta mark Barca players, won't u?
Vidal is among, if not the highest scoring defensive/central midfielder in recent times. So aggression is not really his game, but he's energetic, box-to-box type of guy.
Balotelli is lazy! Not aggressive at all. He's rude and unruly. So, there's little aggression in him.

My aggressive list would be:
De Jong, Shawcross, Pepe, Alan Smith(in man united), Mikel Essien, Costa? Yes, but in a good way, Mascherano, Chielini, and some guys.

Barton, Suarez, Ramos, Cantona, Zidane, these guys are not aggressive, just somewhat unruly. Ramos gets booked needlessly, but he's not aggressive.

2) balotelli does not have it all, you're having an illusion of it because you like him. Yes, he can shoot with both feet but his shooting percentage to goal will show you he's the most wasteful striker in England last season(shot per goal ratio), he's technically ok nothing supreme (you're over rating him), and balotelli is below average in the AIR!!!!! Do you understand what it means to say a player is great in the air? Oh my God, how many knockdowns does he have last season? How many headed goals does he have in his career? 3) supreme movement off and on the ball? Abeg no kill me this night let me give you an example of players with good movement off and on the ball Ruud Van Nistelrooy, Fillipo Inzaghi, Yakubu Aiyegbeni (I know you don't like him ), Diego Costa and recently Harry Kane. You mean to tell me balorubbish has the brain to evade markers and defenders like these I mentioned? For a guy who hasn't scored 20 league goals in a season I'm quite surprised at your claims.



4) in terms of eye for goals he is even below average ( no need to drag that again and his deadball skill is great (penalties), his free kicks are average too.

1).Obviously, Sturridge has played all his career in the EPL. However, that doesn't negate the fact that he has two left legs and he doesn't have half of Balo's talent.

2). Why are you being parochial in your judgement and doing it based on what happened last season when his mental state was messed up and arguably the worst season of his career? Why not judge his talent based on his body of work, from when he started at Inter?

3). You just show you know next to nothing about football by citing Pippo Inzaghi, Yakubu, and bum arse Harry Kane. Inzaghi was born in an offside position and just because he does beat it sometimes to tap in goals, that doesn't mean he has great movement. Yakubu was average at best. And Harry Kane should never be in the same sentence with anyone, till he can prove he's good to do it consistently. Heck, even at the on-going European under-21 tournament - Harry Kane has been a flop. He's that poor.

I'm a Chelsea fan and I never even liked him when he was at Chelsea, TBH.

There were so many clear chances he had that he passed the ball to GK cos he couldn't shoot and sometimes you just have to scratch ya head in agony. Not saying he was utter poor - just decent and nothing special.

Harry Kane is just typical English player - I need to see more from him, before I jump on the bandwagon. C'mon, he's playing against lesser talents and kids, so he should at least be decent, regardless of fatigue. But this guy has been utter poor thus far. The only two guys playing well at that tournament are Loftus-Cheek and Pritchard. Then Ward-Prowse has been decent as well.

Sanchez played the full season at Arsenal, yet he has been supremely good at the Copa America. Ditto most of the players playing at that tournament. That Chilean team looks like the best team on the planet right now.

Players are motivated for various reasons, Kane is now a starter for spurs while Loftus Cheek has yet to play a good 180 mins for Chelsea.. you can't compare their motivations to play for the u21.

Messi also had a fine season, same as Tevez but they ain't playing greatly.

It depends on how you define "talents" though. Andy Carroll was touted as a great talent but we all know how his story ended. I'll wait for him to do it consistently before jumping on the bandwagon. Truth be told, England isn't producing anything special at the moment, apart from overhyped mediocre players. I won't even be surprised if Wales were to start whooping England in the next few years, with their current squad. That's talent right there.

Just watch the next England game against Italy and make sure you watch Harry Kane closely - his movement on and off the ball, skills, awareness etc. to get a clearer picture of what I'm talking about.

Messi has been decent and he never plays that well when playing for the Argies anyway. And Tevez plays as a sub most times, perhaps due to the Champions league final with Juve. Vidal also does the same for Chile. Heck, even Chelsea's Willian has been superb thus far - far better than how he plays for Chelsea.
