nairaspace: you're confused. Oracle is one example under database management. You dont go to school to study microsoft word as a major do you? But you will come across it as a software package under certain courses. Languages can be studied as stand-alone courses/majors dude. Have you seen anyone going for Oracle as a 4-year major? |

davidylan:The crux of the interview is to prove your non-immigrant intent, therefore many applicants are denied visas because they fail to prove their non-immigrant intent when interviewed. The vo's do a fair job of this, although they could be overzealous, once in a while.I dont envy those vo's;their job is difficult. |
Re: General U.S.A (student) Visa Enquiries by nairaspace: 9:16pm On Aug 04, 2011 |
davidylan: excuse me! am i dat dumb? i never mentioned anything such as oracle as a major!!! please read my posts well before u say things. where oracle came into air was when a question like " what courses would you take relating to completing your major as a computer science student depending on your area of specialization. I NEVER MENTIONED ORACLE AS A MAJOR!!! see me see wahala ooo, was only giving examples when it comes to languages, damn!! are u reading from under to top? Chi-Dalu: if u heading to abj this time, you could finds dates between 2-18th Sept popping up!!! this means u have to pay close attention. |
Re: General U.S.A (student) Visa Enquiries by jokepearl(f): 9:28pm On Aug 04, 2011 |
nairaspace: Its been ages since I logged on nairaland, but I can't resist answering Ignorant nairaspace. Pls listen or better still google it. ORACLE is not a course u study in the University at any level. You take courses like database management the school can decide to use any of the numerous softwares available, (In whicle oracle is just an example though its popular). There are training centres that teach Oracle but hope you know u won't be awarded BSc Computer Science, the best you get is Orace certification. Have u ever heard of a course called Microsoft Word (except u are doing diploma in computer science) being taught in a university? ORACLE is not a course taught in the University. |

nowadays most of the time when i sign in to this thread i dont like what i see, pls you guys should stop all this argument about oracle and computer software and help people who have questions. like play like play, this software argument would escalate into insults and curses just like it happened last week and they had to lock this thread, pls stop the argument. oracle or no oracle, am sure the guy must have learnt from his mistakes now and he ll correct them, its enough pls |

Re: General U.S.A (student) Visa Enquiries by wilzz26: 11:08pm On Aug 04, 2011 |
@ WARYZ, i said it. that woman on counter 1 is something else. if you prove to her to be smart and intelligent and giving her your answers to the best of your answers to the best of your ability will make her ask more questions from you and at one point 1 question will come twice in a diffrent form.so if you were at your best with your given answers then the last question will come in a more direct form to you. which is have you travelled before? so if yes then you should be given the visa and if no is the answer 214b follows next. i had a similar experience with her 2 months back. @HOUSE, pls take note of the woman on counter 1 at the Lagos consulate she is a devil waiting to cut short the dream of having an American education. if you never go UK, Asia, middle east before then no visa for you ooh. forget you think. if you get smart and intelligent with the interview with her then more questions will follow and later she will ask her big question of have you traveled before? so if you never go all these places before pry make Dem no call you to her side o |

nairaspace I gave up because I see talking to you as a waste of my precious time. |
Re: General U.S.A (student) Visa Enquiries by Abats4naija: 11:36pm On Aug 04, 2011 |
@wilzz26 I told you she interviewed me and asked me if i had traveled before. i said no and she still gave me the visa though from her body language, while asking that question, she had already made up her mind to give me the visa. you can look up my interview in previous posts. i am sure if you try again you'll probably get it but please stop scaring those going for interview |

It seems there is nothing important on this thread anymore these days rather than unnecessary argument which fast degenerate to insults. A good thread for oracle stuffs will be better guys because we don't gain anything from all this. You guys don't even think about other audience who doesn't understand what you are arguing about. Na wa ooo! I don tire for all this ooo. |

Hello guys I was denied yesterday & im trying to re-schedule another apointment, Please i need guidance ohhhhh!!!!. I discovered i was able to schedule another appointment using my old MRV receipt number (didnt know that ws possible!). I tried to type in the new MRV receipt no. i got from GTBank yesterday but the system wasn't allowing me. & i was able to successfully re-schedule with the old MRV receipt number & even got an e-mail confirmation that the appointment had been scheduled Pls help!!!, i guess im doing sth. wrong. How do i schedule another appointment such that i'm able to input the new MRV receipt of the fee i just paid?? Do i need to create a new profile??, OR i must use my old profile (cos that was what i ised & was able to re-schedule without been asked for a new MRV receipt no.) This is the website i am using: http://www.ustraveldocs.com/ng/ng-niv-appointmentschedule.html Pls help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Re: General U.S.A (student) Visa Enquiries by Nobody: 9:28am On Aug 05, 2011 |
Chi-Dalu:@ Chidalu: U shouldn't use your old MRV receipt for a new interview, unless it wld be considered as fraud. I had similar problems too coz I was given an expedited interview. Though I was denied in d interview, my old receipt number still reflected on my profile page. I had to call their help desk and explained d situation to them and it was corrected. |

Some banks are inept. Can you imagine, my sponsor's Treasury Bill matured last week and there was an instruction that it should not be rolled over yet, the bank did not credit her account until a week after. I called them to print the statement this morning and was told they only credited the account yesterday. My interview is next week and I have resolved that when asked for my statement, I would show the VO her certificate of investment explaining that the facility matured last two weeks and the account was credited by the bank last week since that will be the status then. For those whose parent's / sponsors have their investments in TBills for your sake, I advise you monitor the bank to be sure that things are done as at when due. |

@house I paid my Sevis Fee in Ecobank Western Union Seme Border yesterday and i was given a tracking no(MTCN). Although i was told by folks it is faster, that i would get my confirmation instantly but am tracking on western union since yesterday the system did not recognize the MTCN. I decided to go on Western Union Global Payment Solutions>>Quick Pay website but could not find anywhere to track my payment/transaction Simply stated i could not track with the MTCN i was given at the counter Plz house anyone who has paid through Western Union, Seme should let me know how to resolve this issue, as i have limited before my interview |

chidalu wat was the earliest interview date you saw? |
Re: General U.S.A (student) Visa Enquiries by djunit1(m): 12:19pm On Aug 05, 2011 |
fun2sho: Not all transactions track on western union site. I would advise you to give it like 3 to 5 business days then check your Sevis number to see if it has been paid for. |
Re: General U.S.A (student) Visa Enquiries by dizyfrenzy(m): 12:40pm On Aug 05, 2011 |
fun2sho: you shouldnt bother yourself tracking on the western union website, what you should do is to wait till tuesday, then go to www.fmjfee.com, clik check status, then enter your name and sevis details on the next page that opens, that way, you will know if the payment has been accepted, the mtcn they gave you will not track on the westy site |
Re: General U.S.A (student) Visa Enquiries by nairaspace: 3:49pm On Aug 05, 2011 |
dizyfrenzy: ofcourse u can track but its better to wait till u track on sevis website but if u want to go ahead checking on d western union webpage put your first and middle name on the first name space and your surname on the last name space and your 10 digit mtcn. it should track!! |

fun2sho:@funsho copy paste dis link https://www.fmjfee.com/i901fee/dhs/loadSearchPage.do then, Enter your SEVIS NUMBER,LAST NAME AND DATE OF BIRTH. if it has been processed, then click on view click again to see d printable version of ur payment receipt, i doubt if it will be available now, i think tomorrow, better still on monday.u kno wat?? dis online receipt is acceptable 4 interview,so no need to wait 4 d mailed copy. all d best. @waryz nd chidalu, i feel ur pains.it wusnt just ur day. , wishin u all d best as u go again.BELIEVE in wat u BELIEV. @ abats, thanks 4u encouragement concerning d lady in Lagos @ Imperiouxxx, guess u re enjoyin d ruff ride, lolz , any gist |

Adolite: Same VO cannot interview you twice for the sake of fairness. In fact this happened during my interview, a guy came in for his second attempt and his turn resulted in meeting the VO that denied him earlier. The VO asked the guy to pls wait that he will not be able to interview him the second time and another VO was referred to the cubicle to attend to the guy. |

Thanks a lot @Timotee. I was able to get the no. through their website & was able to rectify the problem. I have now booked a new date of 31st August (Lagos consulate), I would love an earlier date though. Just yesterday morning i saw 24th & 25th of August available dates but as at when i booked later in d afternoon, they had been disappeared . Is it possible to check for available dates without necessairly cancelling ur already scheduled appointment because that might be risky. Pls anyone that sees an earlier August date should let me know pls ohhhhhh. Thanks |

WARYZ: The guy didn't get it. His intention was to travel to the US to play BB, but the VO wasn't convinced. |
