This is the summary of my interview;

Me: G/morning sir
Cons: Morning, can i have your passport please
Me: This is mine, and this is my daughter's
Cons: Why are you going to US?
Me: For further studies, as a masters degree student of xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Cons: Which schl are u attending?
Me: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Cons: Why did u choose the schl?
Me: because it offers the course i want to study, their research area of xxxxxx aligns with my career objective and they have cutting edge facilities for this research
Cons: how will u cope with your baby?
Me: I will enrol her in a creche and i am also aware that international students and their dependants are expected to register for health insurance, so i am going to register for this and pay for it
Cons: Will your husband be visiting?
Me: No
Cons: He wont be visiting at all?
Me: no
Cons: Can i have your baby's birth certificate?
Me: (i gave it to him)
Cons: Who is sponsoring u?
Me: My father (i handed over the bank statement to him without him asking.effizy lol)
Cons: (flip through the pages of the statement), so madam, i am going to return your I-20 to u and give u 2 green tickets to go and pick up your visas on Wed.
Me: Thank you very much sir, i really appreciate
Cons: congratulations
Me: then, I RUN AWAY THROUGH THE LONG WALK WAY (before he calls me back and says he has changed his mind. lololololol
)

That is just the summary. All I know is that u have to be confident and be bold, because he didn't even allow me complete a sentence before asking another one. Be yourself, and above all LEAVE EVERYTHING TO GOD

Hello  to the able people in the house,I have been following this thread for almost  two weeks now.I must say that you guys are wonderful.

I am also seeking F1 visa and I know that the journey is not easy.I have book my date already 29th Dec.I am going for my MS in IT but I was given  second bachelors degree because of my low GPA,they say I just need to do  5  courses in a semester  to strengthened my GPA so that I can easily ride on to  my masters program.Right now the admission letter states that I am going for a graduate program(post Bacc) and my I-20 says second bachelors.I am 30yrs old with vast experience in the IT field.I have written both GRE and TOEFL.Both good scores.

My questions are.
1. Do they have a specific age for a graduate program??

2.Wont they say that I am not competent enough and that was why I was given second bachelors degree.

Please your contributions.
I would  those having interview before new year for us to get in touch in one way or the other
JOhn

1. no
2. rightly so, better for the school to put you on provisional status (graduate degree) than a 2nd bachelors. provisional wont show on your i-20, so no way for the consul to tell (it'll just appear as a masters degree), but 2nd bachelors might cast doubt

-my friend had a 2.5/5.0 GPA, wrote TOEFL, didn't write GRE, got an admission for MS computer science/information system, and got a visa.

I wish you all many blessings and hope things go your way. I know a guy I used to work with from Ghana. He completed his studies in the US. And now he is a doctor at one of the most prestige hospital in the US. And his girlfriend is a nurse. I am African American. My hat goes off to the men and women from Africa that come here to the US and are able to accomplish big things.

Men and women from your culture are able to come here and open business. { For example}The women come here and make thousands in a single day just by braiding hair and selling appearl They study hard, study the system and shoot for the stars.

Nothing is ever too late, saying its too late makes you sound like a quitter.

Stop worrying about your GPA, and they might really not be looking at your admission letter(s).

Stop worrying about being incompetent either, they know good TOEFL or GRE scores when they see one. ( I had 92 in my TOEFL, the consul saw it and said, oh! your test score is very good.)
Since you passed well in both entrance exam, am sure they can figure just how intelligent you are.

Your I-20 is what they look at for your major, was graduate or undergraduate degree written on there?

u were admitted into the program, means that the school saw u as competent to go their school. The Embassy wont look at that.

They usually dont ask for GPA, did they have a hand in making the school issue you an i20, why would you want to think its too late unless you have some underlying issues.

And SUXES- how far na- ?
