Hello all, Below is the response I got from etv bu their scrambled channel: Dear Viewer Thank you for your e-mail and for contacting e.tv. The e.tv signal into Nigeria was a pirate broadcast. This pirate broadcast has been stopped and e.tv is now only available in South Africa. However, please be aware that eAfrica may become available in Nigeria should a local broadcaster decide to air the channel. eAfrica will allow you to view all your favourite programmes that you have come to enjoy. Kind Regards e.tv Customer Care info@etv.co.za |

Re: Official Thread of Free-to- Air Satellite TV [part 3] by GeorgeD1(m): 3:33pm On Aug 08, 2009 |
graciousme: @graciousme, Orbit+showtime is the in-thing rocking nilesat currently. You can get in on the action using the following tps: 11859V 27500 SR Super Movies BBC Prime America Plus Super Comedy, etc 11373H 27500 SR cinema 1 cinema 2 series +4 ann music now super movies +1, etc 11411H 27500 SR series chnnel playhouse trace discovery history 2+ america cinema city xtra movies, etc The last two tps didn't turn green at my end though. I might have to tweak my lnb sort of. About the 1.8m, if you live in Abuja and up north then yes, you can get all those packages with 1.8m pan or fibre. |
Re: Official Thread of Free-to- Air Satellite TV [part 3] by captainus: 3:49pm On Aug 08, 2009 |
@sathob i'm not surprised 2m is available in ashanti because i believe reception gets better moving up north.i have to agree with u on those 'taking without giving'.if our brothers from NAIJA didnt see the wisdom to set up this forum and contribute generously most of us would have been paying a lot of money to those so called installers.SO MY FELLOWS FROM GH CONTRIBUTE MEANINGFULLY AND LETS MOVE THIS FORUM FORWARD, IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION OF COURSE. |

@Dejsam, Thanks for the updates. Will load them when I get home. It looks though there is not much left to enjoy as they will soon expire-as usual. @Oga Twinstaiye, My starsat is showing well. No problems at all with the last update. As for the thunder wahala, it is all over now and I'm back to optimum speed @Pitodenz, With the replacement of all my 3-in-1 lnbs, my TBN, Smile and JCTV signals have improved greatly. I'm hitting up to 62% quality now and no cracking whatsoever-even in rain and cloud! E be like say that thunder self na blessing in disguise o! |

All, for those in Lagos Nigeria thinking of installing big dishes in there houses take a drive to Apapa eg Adele Rd and have a first hand look at the various sizes ranging from 2.4m to abt 6m so as to be better informed on the choice they want to venture into. for d first time in my Iife I saw a 6m dish live, oh my God! I was so excited knowing dt the owner of dat dish would have d world of fta at his feet. How I wish he can share his exciting moments with us. |

fijabi:The only option is to get the one they re yet to customize and use to downgrade the upgraded.but u ll need a usb to usb cable to do that. @ All Daarsat seems to be full HD receiver and the receiver is from KAON. If we make more reserch, probably we might come up with a patch. Any moment from now all daarsat receiver in the market will be cusomized, that was why i need to secure one sharp sharp now . Any one who get the idea of how to use Nokia N96 to watch old Roger for free should contact the house. I saw one Benin Republic man using it today. He said he got it from Cotonou. How i wish they re English speaking country like us cos we all should ve been sharing this forum just like our blackstar guys from Ghana. The phone has TV output and men it was serving as his reciver. He even watch Canalsat Horizon with it for free. @ George D The signal for tbn has improve even 1.8m pick very well here. MTN no gree give me gprs for my end ooh!! na cafe i dey use to reserch now ooh!!. Am praying for showtime and orbit to start using the same encryption so that this jolly go fit reach me naw. |
Re: Official Thread of Free-to- Air Satellite TV [part 3] by adewest(m): 7:37pm On Aug 08, 2009 |
George_D: @ George d, Don't bother stressing yourself over those aforementioned transponder i.e 11373H and 11411H they are regional beam freq (low altitude signal). Even with 3.8m dish here in the upper north of Nigeria they are not receivable. May be in future they may surface if swap into freq that are accessible to our region. |

@sathob does it mean w6 is not receivable with 90cm in accra? |
Re: Official Thread of Free-to- Air Satellite TV [part 3] by olofofo(m): 9:15pm On Aug 08, 2009 |
pitodenz: it might be because N96 has facility for receiving DVB-H broadcast and i know that old roger has a package where you watch them on mobile. does this guy you know watch the full package or just some channels, also what channels was he watching on canal+, we need more info on this. |
Re: Official Thread of Free-to- Air Satellite TV [part 3] by BUTONEDAY(m): 11:17pm On Aug 08, 2009 |
olofofo: Olofofo, N96 has the facility quite alrirgt. But the reason why you can use this phone and one other N70 series (not N70 or N72) to watch about ten stations free is that, THEY have an agreement with Nokia for a year. I am not sure when it will end. But if you have any of these phones (genuine and not fake) just visit any Nokia center and you will be connected. We paid two K to set up one N96 two weeks ago. Please note that you may not get any of these phones to buy in computer village. |

@ Tox9ja E pele oooo. Howz popsi and ur broda doing. E no go happen again in Jesus name. I know what it feels like. I had it with them some 3 weeks ago at Allen (at gun point. Na MBC2 i think say i dey. Make person point me gun! I no get the liver to ak dem if na real gun or fake abi if bullet dey inside. lol wetin 4 happen if say i run mouth with them?). My laptop gone wit my bag. Bad enof I had 2 laptops in the bag plus working tools. Thank God they did not gain entry to ur end. Those idiot wey dey shoot from outside. God forbid say dem enter only God know dia mind. May God continue to shield us all. @ sathob It pained me that I missed the opportunity of buying the multi TV HD decoder from GH last week all because I was waiting to hear good news from strong. If only I had gotten online to our dear forum, I would have read the info without having to contact them also I was working on 250 Gh cedis a dealer told me when i called GH. Ha i known I could get it for 150GH cedis. A friend of mine just came back from GH on saturday. You wil have to send me your account details and total cost so I pay and you help through ABC. @ all Thanks for keeping the fta frag frying(like my calabar brethren will say). Is anyone experiencing sam thing with me. when I click on my last 10 posts, I get stuffs I never wrote. sometimes when i open nairaland (epecially 2ru zain) without having logged in, I get a user already logged in on my pc which ofcourse only me uses. |

Re: Official Thread of Free-to- Air Satellite TV [part 3] by sathob(m): 12:06pm On Aug 09, 2009 |
@idyday, Congrats, but for now the answer to your question is No. the only channels you can get is CRTV and LM.TV the rest are those mpeg4 channels owned by multi-tv. @vickoy23 I do not have an account with GT bank, but they have a network for West Africa and one can easily transfer money across boundaries in the sub region like western union does. The multi-tv digibox + dish and installation is what costs, from, GH₵250.00 officially, the box alone costs GH₵150.00. ABC transport says they charge GH₵2.00 per kilo for the box, when I described to them the item I want to send. I want to be very sure, so I am carrying an empty paper box for them to see what I am referring to. @captain Thanx for the reply, it really helps. @dorg3 I think captain’s last post answers the question. Practically, I have never thought of nailing w6. |
