Re: Marriage b/w Igbo Man And Yoruba Woman by Vie(f): 10:20pm On Mar 04, 2009 |
@ Poster : Frankly speaking, all tribes have an issue with each other so its really not just igbo and yoruba, my dear. So this is what i believe, its not about tribe but about the person you are in the relationship with. My uncle is married to a yoruba woman and this is alomst 10 years and they are still together. I know a couple of other people in similar marriages, so have no feel, all that really matters is LOVE. 1 Like |

It easy for Igbo girls to marry Yoruba man but it's going to be tough for you since you are a girl becos most Igbo parents does not really support their sons marrying girls outside their tribe I have friends who are half igbo, but their mothers are all igbo Igbo men love and cherish their family, so going against their parent wish is tough |

My dear, Igbo guys do marry yoruba girls. At least my family has some Igbo/yourba marriages to our credit. But you must know that not every family would support that idea. In your own case, his parents didn't raise eyebrows when you were being introduced to them, they treated you very well; what else do you want my dear? (Am sure his mum even calls you Ada) If you feel comfortable with his family members then go ahead with the relationship. One secrete you should know about Igbo parents is that if they don't like you, they won't even talk to you. When you greet them, they won't respond you. They would spend the larger half of the day working out strategies on how to delete you from their son's heart. But your case isn't like that; you were welcomed with open arms. So cheer up my dear and fear not for all is well. |

Hey sweety Let me tell you certain facts from my own observation: Igbo men marry Igbo women Igbo women marry Yoruba men(most cases the Yoruba men are very very rich ::ego talks: ) Yoruba men are very open to other tribes(compared to Igbo men) Igbo men marry Yoruba women if and only if ego is there in abundance Igbo men invest in relationships Igbo women only date very rich guys irrespective of their tribes :bling bling: Yet there are exceptions, depending on the family background of your love(lover, boyfriend, girlfriend, partner) and your love for each other. I am not Igbo by the way, i once dated an Igbo guy and he wanted to use style to find out how rich i was . . . hehe |

Re: Marriage b/w Igbo Man And Yoruba Woman by glorina: 6:19pm On Mar 05, 2009 |
charles316: no, i'm not a tribalist. It's the plain truth. By the way i was speaking from my own observation The poster wanted to know the situation between Igbo men and Yoruba women in general. And as i already mentioned, there are exceptions. The fact that his parents recieved her does not mean they liked her from their hearts(unfortunately you can never tell the minds of people) @Poster There could be different reasons why he doesn't want any commitment. And only him and God knows why. All you need to do is pray about it and ask for God's will to be done. You could also discuss the issue(Igbo men and Yoruba women) with him. I hope for you he tells you the REAL reason why he doesn't wanna marry you Goodluck sis |

Re: Marriage b/w Igbo Man And Yoruba Woman by osisi2(f): 6:36pm On Mar 05, 2009 |
yemi09: Forget about his parents and stories you've heard from Okonkwo and Funmilayo and focus on the highlighted part. This has absolutely nothing to do with tribe The man has told you he's not interested in a commited relationship right now and you're still pursuing him. From one woman to another,I'll advise you to get some confidence in yourself and forget this man. He doesn't love you anymore and that's what he's tryng to tell you. Find another Emeka or Chidi or even ozioma |
Re: Marriage b/w Igbo Man And Yoruba Woman by oziomatv(m): 6:37pm On Mar 05, 2009 |
@poster, How many times shall we discuse this issue before you understand? The problem is not from the parents or relatives rather from your guy if he says no no one is in position to force him on you. Time has pass when parents and relatives recommends wife/husband except he/she is a village champion. |

Tribe does not matter at all, it's the love that matters, as long as you are both human beings I say as long as you feel that he is the person you wish to spend the rest of your life with vice versa, go and marry him |
