I think in as much as the participants are honing their skills in order to deliver essays with more quality, it is only fair that the judges do same. Having gone through some results, I'm at a loss how much some of the chosen judges know about the art of argument. I'm almost tempted to think bias!

Go through those essays again with an unbiased mindset, evaluate the number of Likes each essay has received, and you should understand what I mean...

I think it's hightime you chose only past winners and runners up of this competition as Judges..

Go through those essays( Team 5, Team 1) again, then you will have a rethink.. To me, the work by eduntee is quite better than that of iamdejman, but the result ain't reflecting that!!

I don't think the number of likes garnered by partcipants' essay is objective enough to judge their work. Remember, some schools have users here on NL than others. Only few of those likes are borne out of objectivit.

Over all check it... That's the reason why we use two judges. Soon you will understand why a lecturer will grade a student A and another lecturer will grade such A student B it's more than been bias. I wish I can give you three reasons now, but I can't till some other time.


I will just Advice you all to cooperate with our judges, I am very sure that the best team will be the winner. That am confident of.

But then, coordinators should re-read all essays and evaluate judges performance.. I saw an appointed judge up there reminding fynestboi he/she has been tasked with judging his/her alma mater..

He said something that I held tight. He said Judging his Alma mater he will be expecting much from them, and if they refused to give him, he won't be lenient on them....



We stopped using judges from their Alma mater due to some reasons.

Gotten someone, in the sobriquet of 'Jeremyaaa09'. Only that he is a little not comfortable with the slated date for the debate. And i, on my part, had stayed my essay since i wasn't cocksure i was going to be brooked to participate alone given past precedent in the previous editions. I don't know if there can be a slight change of the date. Trust me, i hate asking for too much. But given the circumstance, i'm compelled to. Please.
