Gunmen suspected to be assassins yesterday shot dead , a chieftain of the All Progressive Congress, APC Mr. Shalewa Daramola, in Amuwo Odofin Local Government area of Lagos.
Daramola who is the Assistant Treasurer at the APC Amuwo Odofin chapter, was at 3rd avenue ‘K’ close, Festac Town, where members of his party were sharing Sallah gift when the incident occurred.
He was said to have stepped out to check his car when one of the gunmen said to be in his 20s, emerged from an adjourning close and accosted Daramola, demanding for money.
Apparently thinking the stranger was a beggar, Daramola reportedly told him he had no money. The gunman was said to have fired Daramola four times, at close range before he jumped into a waiting motorbike .
Daramola was said to have been rushed to the Local government Primary Health Centre, from where he was referred to another hospital in Festac Town. But on the way to the hospital, he reportedly breathed his last.

First it is rather crass to laugh at a man's death. There are people who are his family and friends, who will weep tonight.

Second...it is also rather crass to speculate on the cause of death without waiting for the investigation to be complete. Right now...it could be anyone responsible for his death. That is why we have Police, and judges. Unless you want to do conviction by witch-hunt. (And by the way...what you are doing amounts to slander).

Third....for the govt....it is high time we funded the Police better. APC....we voted you for change....make the Police force into something that Nigerians can trust.So that no APC or PDP or any other party member...and indeed any Nigerian...loses his life in such circumstances...and justice is not done.
