Nigeria Vis-a-vis US Relation And Expectations by Nobody: 11:19pm On Jul 20, 2015
Nigerians are so much tied with great expectation as Buhari and US government embark on bilateral agreement that will increase US-Nigeria trade and diplomatic relation. But, from the aqua of empiricism, will Nigeria US relation promote our national identity and strengthen our economy vis-a-vis the dilapidated socio-economic milieu. Nigeria has all it takes to combat lackadaisical economy and bring the culprits behind Nigeria years of doom to book and make us one of the competing economy in the world. US abinitio has a tradition of influencing foreign policy of countries they approach by undermining the status quo of the host country. There are always aberration among third world countries as regards to the hegemony of BIG5 on the internal democracy which have gigantic negative impact on the third world countries. From the point of realism, Nigeria has what it takes to drive home their quest for top competing economy in the world but looking at present US gay marriage pressure on Nigeria which could stand as a threat and determinant for US aid to Nigeria. What would be the expectation of the dependent country like Nigeria who may rely on America support for combating terrorism and recovering stolen fund from top politicians. Holistically, and looking at the personalities of the delegates, I am obliged to concur that Buhari as a father cannot allow our foreign policy to be over compromised talk more of giving room for our national ethos to be jeopardized. What is possibility that US will leave shore of Nigeria if terrorism is finally won with the full support of their army;perhaps, what would be their interest if stolen funds are recovered and what would be our image among the committee of nations as a giant of Africa when we can't protect our national security. I believe in PMB because only him and Nigerians can do it. Nigerians should get ready as horn is about to be blown.... Nigeria is for us........
