THE Federal Government has said President Muhammadu Buhari would only probe former President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration. Delving into the activities of other past administrations of Olusegun Obasanjo, Ibrahim Babangida, Sani Abacha and others could amount to waste of time.

Meanwhile, a group of senators called ‘Like Minds Senators’ on Thursday said they found the decision by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to invite the wife of the Senate President, Mrs. Toyin Saraki “in connection with an unknown investigation very curious.”

Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina said Buhari had stated during his campaign that his probe would only be limited to the immediate past administration.

“If you recall, that was already settled before he was inaugurated as president. He has said he will not waste time digging into the far past. The far past will includes Obasanjo and others,” Adesina said.

The senators in a statement signed on their behalf by Senator Dino Melaye stated that they hoped that the invitation of Mrs Saraki was not politically motivated or linked with the on-going leadership tussle in the Senate.

Noting that the decision of the EFCC to invite Mrs. Saraki created a lot of coincidences which any discerning mind will not want to ignore, the group said: “Though, we do not want to make any hasty conclusion, we are surprised that about five years after the Sarakis left Government House, Ilorin, the EFCC suddenly realised the need to invite the wife. We hope this is not part of the plot we have heard about aimed at wrestling the Senate President down with different tactics.”

“We have heard some of our colleagues and their sponsors boasting about throwing all types of mud at the leadership of the Senate in the bid to force it to accept their conditions. The EFCC definitely should perform its lawful duties, but we warn that it should not return us to the dark days when the anti-graft agency was frequently and flagrantly used as a political weapon,” Melaye stated.

He added that members of the Like Minds group will continue to watch closely developments around Mrs Saraki’s invitation and will later make its position known to members of the public.

Booohari's government is probing GEJ in order to give him a bad name before the majority of Nigerians, Africans and the international community who love and still sing his songs. The apc fraudulent government is amazed at the amount of people and nationalities still rooting for GEJ despite him being out of government some months back! It pains the apc to see GEJ reap the fruit of his labour in almost all sectors he transformed in the Nigerian state hence nothing so far is being credited to boooohari! This jealousy and vindictive nature of boooohari and his likes has forced them to tarnish the image of GEJ and his cabinet so as to limit the praises and honor bring bestowed on GEJ.

They forget that man plans and God approves! He who God has blessed, no man can curse. I assure the apc that the probe of GEJ would unearth many cans of worms that would indite the apc itself! One cannot play with fire and expect not to sweat. The Nigerian people are watching this drama in super HD.
